Service was excellent! The waitress we had was very nice and friendly and even struck up a nice conversation with my mom.

Best Turkey Club i've ever had...Real Turkey Breast so it made the sandwich huge! First time i've ever ordered yam fries and they were superb, nice and crispy and crunchy.

Had a pint of Grandville Island Lager which was on special and was very tasty!

The interior and decor was nice, they have a handful of projection screen TVs so probably a great location to catch a game, you can see a screen from any seat in the place.

I half to start off by saying i cannot believe how many people didn't give the Village Taphouse at 5 Star Raiting. My friends and I who are Dinning Lovers and go out all the time to great restaurants call this place our home away from home!

We litterarly live far enough away (the Suburbs like New West and Surrey) to come all the way out to Park Royal Village just to eat here!

One of my best friends (who is the Biggest Belini lover ever and has tried more that i'd say 50-70 belini's at various restaurants says The Taphouse has the best belini of anywhere. She said it has the best mix of ingredients and has a soft fruity like taste yet still alcoholic.

Great Beer and drinks specials is what its all about and for the Belini Girls Boyfriend who drinks beer a 4$ fav is right up his alley.

We really like the menu!!! Everything we have ever ordered here has been unbelievably amazing. We always had parties going on in our mouths at all times!

From the unreal Mac and cheese to the HUGE Juicy Beef Dip, The Bay Shrimp sandwich my other friend orders to Chicken wings nachos and yes... yummmmyyy!!!

I AM GOING TO MAKE A CLAIM THEY HAVE THE BEST YAM FRIES IN TOWN BAR NONE!!!!!! - i dare you to make better ones cause no one can!!!!

We also enjoy the best dam ham and cheese.... sooo gooey!!! yum!!!

and with new Pinkberry nearby for dessert u cant go wrong!!!

Here's to hoping they can add a new york cheesecake to there dessert menu!!!

WILL ALWAYS BE BACK!!!! i love my love-afair with the Village Taphouse!

I've been in here on a few occasions, usually when I'm coming back from the Sunshine Coast or a day on the mountain snowboarding.  The atmosphere is a bit "Corporate Pub" style, which I'm not a fan of.  The beer selection was lacking and the service was insanely slow.  I think they have 3 servers/person so they're confused if/when you've ever been helped.  I've had food here in the past but apparently it didn't make the "I remember it" list...which is not typically a good sign.

I recently met a former colleague at the Taphouse to catch up over a few pints, and felt right at home as soon as I walked in.  It's a very cozy place that doesn't feel at all like a mall bar, which I suppose it technically is.  The high ceilings, natural wood, and tiled wall of taps makes the place feel earthy without making you want to eat a bowl of granola.

The beer list is outstanding, featuring an international selection of styles and breweries that for the most part steers clear of the usual suspects and lets you sample a couple different options of the same style.  Our waitress was quite knowledgeable about the beers on tap, describing them in "beerspeak" without straying into beer snobbery.  Beyond that, the service was spot on.  Even as the place got packed for a hockey game, our waitress was regularly checking in to see if we needed another round and make sure things were going fine.

We only shared a plate of nachos, but the sights and smells of food at tables all suggested that they don't mess around in the kitchen when it comes to quality and quantity of the grub.

I'm not sure if or when I'll be in West Van again, but I'm pretty sure I'll find a way to work the Taphouse into the agenda.

It's the place where nobody knows your name, even if you've been going there since they changed hands.  It almost has the feel of a local spot, but I think the waitresses are generally too snobby to notice.

So I thought I was out of luck when I was served a horrible drink, but then without hesitation, I was brought a different one to my liking and that is a mark of a good spot.  It's one of those bars you visit again and again.

For West Vancouver, I expected so much more from the Taphouse. The space is fantstic at the Taphouse, warm and welcoming. A great place to have a larger group party.

Unfortuantely, the food fell flat. I ordered a salad. First of all it was drenched in lemon thyme vinigrette dressing. The dressing was tasty but next time I would know to ask for it ont he side. The salad had lots of blueberries, toasted pecans and goat cheese.  I expected the salad to come with a chicken breast but was disappointed when it looked like left-over chicken meat pulled off a boiled carcass.

On the bright side of things, the Strongerbow was great! A strongbow cider topped with slushy bellini topped with mandarin vodka. Mmmm.

came here after zip-lining at grouse mountain. what a perfect lunch. a group of 14 people and we had a blast drinking and eating.

let me clarify--EVERYTHING was delicious. we had half the menu. poutine, fish and chips, yam fries, potato skins, mussels, cream of tomato soup totally stole the show. everything else was good too, pizza, various burgers, onion rings. utter delight. i could not believe how tasty everything was.

also excellent--the beer. sampler of three beers of choice for $6 or $8. great variety, and we all had so much fun. recommended after a day of hiking in the mountains.

What a beautiful, opulent pub. Wooden beamed ceiling, a fireplace, indoor and outdoor seating, over 20 beers on tap and a beautiful bar. Above the bar, 4 large flat screen tv's. at least 3 others in the main part of the room and one more rather large one near the front. It's pretty loud in there with a game on though.

The food was really good. I had the "Chop Chop Salad" with Chicken, Apples and Honey Walnuts. Friends had the Onion soup, a lovely looking steak served with green beans and mash, and "The Murph" pizza, a thin but crispy crust pizza with the perfect balance of sauce, cheese and meats. (Yum, salt.)

The service was fast and friendly. The chairs are super comfy leather loungers and big wooden tables.
I would come back here ANYtime. I don't even care that it's owned by Cactus Club people. It's great!

The 1st time I went here was when it was a Steamworks joint. I've since been here 3 times. They have tons of beers on taps, probably the most I've seen. A must is their 3 beer sampler for $6. Can't be beat!

Their food is alright, can't remember exactly what I had but solid pub fare. They have decent outside seating where you can people watch.

Being from the States, it was a real surprise that this mall closed at 6 PM on a Monday.  I guess people don't shop on Monday nights in West Vancouver.

The Taphouse was the only one that appealed to us.  We didn't want the Pan Asian place and the other place didn't look good from the outside.

I order the the steak burger.  The flavor was good, but nothing memorable and when they are calling it "choice" it should be a lot better.  Red Robin' burges are about equal in flavor.

My girlfriend ordered the chop salad with feta since she doesn't like blue cheese.  She was a little surprised since most chop salads are just that, chopped.  This was actually a spring green salad with dried cranberries, candied pecans, chicken and feta cheese.   Even at that the dressing was just olive oil and maybe a little vinegar, not a true chop salad.  I guess this is a brew pub so you can't expect the salads to be good.

I'm not a beer drinker so I didn't sample that, however they had a very good selection on tap.

Service was decent, not too attentive, but the waitress was there on occaision.

If we knew the area better we probably would have gone somewhere else.  But it was a decent meal, but not real memorable.

A beer-gourmand's dream with 20 brews on tap and a solid selection of bottled beers - from local microbrewies (including some from my favourite brewery, Unibroue) and quasi-exotic locations.

The interior is large and spacious with really high ceilings - a pretty good joint to soak in a few beers and watch sports on the numerous TVs.  Crack open the drink menu and the brews are organized by beer types (i.e. lagers, ales, darks, stouts) with helpful tasting notes and ABV.  This might sound like a no-brainer, but have you noticed how many places organize their beers by region or price?  Thanks for the useless information.

If you are still undecisive, they offer your choice of any three draft beers in mini-glasses for only $6.  No more getting stuck with a pint of awful-tasting beer you ordered cuz the name sounded cool.  I got to sample all their IPAs for cheap before I locked in on one.  Just wished more places openly offered beer samplers.

Just had some nachos so I can't comment on the food, but my friends seemed to like the food.  We ordered a 1/2 order of nachos and we were given the full portion in error - but the waitress gave it to us for 1/2 price.  Can't argue with good beer and half-priced nachos.  On top of this, they offer daily beer/cocktail specials.

The only downside of this place (maybe I'm just unfamiliar to the area) is that it's inside the Village in Park Royal -- felt like I was walking around Salt Lake City.  Then again, I feel like I'm going to get arrested whenever I set foot into West Vancouver.

Anyways, I may venture out to West Van more often when I feel like indulging in some excellent brews.

We came in the summer after a long day of hiking in Lynn Canyon. We had stopped at a Starbucks in the Village before this, but the beer on tap special sign outside just lured us inside.

It's a large place, with brick walls all around and dark furniture. A large fireplace in the middle of the room. Rustic meets classic.

We sat at the bar to watch the NBA playoffs between the Lakers and Magic. There were 3 screens right in front of us. Perfect view. We had them all to ourselves. The bartender greeted us, and we both got a Granville Island pale ale, on special for $4.

Between Kobe and time outs and rebounds, my friend and I had a great time. It was very relaxed, and no one came to force us to have food. We had more beers since we were just so exhausted from the hike.

During the 4th quarter, we eventually got hungry and decided to take a look at their menu. They  have your usual pub fare-potato skins, chicken wings, burgers, nachos, as well as more gourmet options, such as mussles and even filet mignon. We decided to share the bay shrimp club -fresh avocado, dill aioli and a prosciutto crisp.

The food comes promptly, allowing us to enjoy the last part of the game. The foccacia is lightly toasted. Shimp and lettuce are fresh, and chunks of avocado are sandwiched in between. Tasty, and the buttery avocado mixes with the crisp lettuce and tender shrimp, all with a hint of the dill aioli. Comes with fries, and one large onion ring.

Another beer later, and the Lakers have won, we sit and talk for a bit more. We spent a whole 2 hours in there, and no one really bothered us. Will come back next time I'm in West Van!

This place is a really great casual hangout on the North Shore. It used to be Steamworks, which I avoided like the plague because the food was so incredibly terrible.

Now that it's the Taphouse, they've got darn good food, as well as a fantastic beer selection. The sample deal - 3 beers of your choice for $6 - is a no brainer.

The service is great too - I've been offered free beer samples by the waitresses multiple times when I've been pondering what to order, and they're very friendly and attentive.

In terms of food, I'd recommend the Mac & Cheese - although it's rich enough to feed about 5 people... - and I had the Clubhouse with a side of French Onion Soup today, and that was a great lunch. The smaller serving of soup (rather than the standard full bowl) is actually better - it's not a fantastic soup, but it's pretty good as a side for a sandwich.

Love the beers, Hate the food. Their menu stinks other than 1 or 2 items. i think i had the half chicken because it was the only thing that wasn't deep fried on their menu and it was not bad. i can't stand their wings...unless they've changed them, and the flavour is honey dijon?? sick. love their atmosphere, and all the beers they have on tap. They are not the best place to watch all hockey games because they didn't show a chicago game i wanted to see. even though i love the canucks..I like watching other teams...whats the point of an ice package if you won't show any other games.  the reason i gave them 3 stars is because i hate deep fried food as my only choice, and if you are trying to be a sports bar with all the tv's then show stuff customers come in for and ask for, not what the bartender wants to watch. just some feedback.
