Just to be clear, I actually liked this place more for the location and ambiance than the food. The dough is clearly their pride and joy and is made with a sweet yeast, although you will never get the owner to admit that.

On every table (Although we sat at the bar) there is a bottle of honey to dip your crust in.

The sauce was great (I am not a fan of red sauce) and the pizza itself was something I might even write home about.

The set up is a bit old fashioned which adds to the nostalgia connected with the area and the server was very friendly (daughter of the owner)

My only complaint is that it is only open Wednesday-Saturday and opens at 4:00 p.m. We actually stayed in Roslyn an additional day just to eat here. I would have to agree that it was worth it.

I think the owner is on to something here, but more viable hours would have placed Village pizza as a shoe in for 5 stars...

When it's below freezing, pizza and beer are the way to go - right?  It was nice to see this place open, when a quick glance in all directions showed other establishments permanently closed.  Fairly large seating area, fireplace, easy to find bathrooms, and an accessible counter - good start so far. Service was OK+ and got the benefit of the doubt as there was but one person in the back making the pizza, and one person tending the front counter as well as doing some food running and clearing tables.  It got crowded and she stayed on top of it.

As far as the pizza goes, the thicker crust was tasty and at least rolled out there if not completely made from scratch, but our like of the pie ended with that.  The sauce tasted like it was from a can and then helped with way too much generic dried Italian seasonings, and the cheese just came out odd, not mozzarella-like at all and again saturated in the dried herbs.  We got the smaller of the two offerings and still left much of it.  Don't get me wrong, not a horrible pizza, just not what I think many non-locals are thinking of when they go out for pizza.

One of the best pizza's I've ever had.  Family owned and operated, it's a great little spot in a cool little town.  I did manage to be there late on a slow night, and got to talk with the owner.  Dough is made fresh, right there, (look for the big mixing machine toward the back of the kitchen).   The crust is thick, light, and a little chewy, and makes me think of the really good pizza places I went to as a kid, before we had options, and pizza just came on "crust", not pan, or thin, or woodfired, or whatever.

The honey for the crust was strange, b ut it's good, and worth trying.  They have Roslyn Brewery beers on tap, imported all the way from across the street.

Anytime I'm in Roslyn, I'll stopping in for pizza.  Also, they're open on weeknights, which many of the businesses aren't.

Hand to God, Ed took our order, Shelly made the pizza and yelled, "see y'all later!" as we left.

Oh, and a moose walked by.

    The pizza was good, too.

Best pizza in the world. Loads of toppings and awesome owners/staff. Don't be afraid to put honey on the crust. After trying Village Pizza, all other pizzas will taste like garbage. And Roslyn is one of the best places on earth-- and I'm not saying that because I lived there-- go visit and eat pizza.

3-stars for service and the 4th for the pizza!

Friendly, attentive young staff - kudos gang! Even the sweet waitress who was pregnant was running around doing anything and everything she could to make her guests happy :)

I'm not a big pizza eater and if I do I like super thin crust. Not VPs fault for not carrying this as an option, it's just not their thang. No worries. I don't remember the name of the pizza we went with but it did have pineapple, jalapenos and BBQ sauce...I think there was meat too. Well, it was good just go with it.

The honey on the table was interesting...and I only knew what to do with it because of a review here on Yelp I read...I mean, I could do anything I wanted with it but what the win really is, is with the crust. My dining companion ;) seemed to enjoy it, he took and uploaded several pictures for your viewing pleasure.

The dirty trivia cards are fun to play with while you wait for your pie too!

Really surprised by the excellent pizza we found here.  Friendly, great character place with the best food we found in the area.  If you're at Cle Elum, Roslyn, or Suncadia, you can do a lot worse (especially the Suncadia restaurant, Portals, which is badly mediocre and absurdly expensive), so we were thrilled to find this place with its yummy pizza and decent beer.  Might wish they'd expand the beer selection a bit, but, hey, if you're in the area, don't want to drive 30+ miles, and, if your other choice is the other places around, this really is good, definitely recommended.

Village Pizza is the best joint for pizza on the east side of the state. The galena and bullfrog pizzas are to die for. I crave them every time I'm running over to Seattle, sometimes even stop to bring one home to Yakima.

My girlfriend has a bunch of friends in cle elum so we like to drink at the brick also. Village Pizza will deliver your pizza over to the Brick and slam it on the table with the wax paper FTW.

I've been going to Village pizza since 87' and still have not found better.

PS: I love the reviews of people complaining about service, do they understand they are in Roslyn? The only reason this business survives is because of weekend traffic. If you want better service come in the other 40 hours a week that noone is there, like Tuesday afternoon at 2pm.

Made it here for dinner before seeing some bands at The Brick.  Although it wasn't showed in Northern Exposure much, Village Pizza is in the opening credits, and that's cool.

The pizza was decent.  Had some feta & chicken pizza, and a veggie pizza.  And yes, you do eat on the place mats.

The staff was nice, and we also saw one of the bands (The Maldives) eating here while we were eating.

Greeted by a lab sitting on the front porch eating some crust.Friendly service and atmosphere. Pizza was tasty, loved the golden melted cheese on top. Reminded me of Godfather' Pizza I ate as a kid. We got 1/2 veggie 1/2 combo, no complaints. Took about 15 minutes for the pizza to come. We were wondering what the honey was for, but now I know after reading previous reviews.

This place is as bare bones as it gets....order from the counter, no plates (you eat from your wax paper "place mat"), but I will tell you one thing, they make darn good pizza!!  They offer pies in 8", 14" and 17" and have quite the assortment.  We went with a 8" Harry's Special (maybe it was Henry's?!?) anyway, it was the pizza with tomato and basil (note:  the tomatoes do not come cooked on top) and a 17" 1/2 5th Street Alley (garlic, spinach and tomato (see note on tomatoes!) and the other 1/2 was pesto based with chicken, artichokes and something else.  I really enjoyed the 5th Street Alley, the other seemed a bit greasy.

I saw that they had some salad choices, but we didn't order any that night so can't comment, but they are available.

They have the local Roslyn beers on draft (YUM!).  We went with a pitcher of the Brookside and they also have a few other beers and a white and red wine choice (yes, that is singular, I told you it was bare bones).  Place seemed fairly busy for a Wednesday night and the take-out business seemed to be where it's at.

If you are in the Cle Elum/Roslyn area this is the place to get your pizza on!  Make sure you slide over to the Brick before or after for a drink too...it's the oldest Saloon in Washington state and worth checking out!

I know Village Pizza is closed on Mondays (and perhaps another night as well) and close shop on the early side (9 PM) so you may want to call ahead....you aren't in Seattle any more folks!

This place makes an awesome pie.  We showed up as a group of four on an extremely cold day and found the place to have a slight chill inside.  But, as soon as we had a beer, the chill melted away and our breadsticks arrived.  I can't remember what they are called, but they were the ultimate breadsticks.  In fact, we mistook them for our pizza.  They were absolutely phenomenal: cheese and pepperoni loaded sticks in the shape of a pizza.  The four of us gobbled them down, and then were unable to eat half a large pizza that came next.  We took the rest of our pizza to go in a box and had it for breakfast the next morning.  Delicious on both days!

If you are ever in Cle Elum or staying in Roslyn/Suncadia, this is the place to go for a good pizza and beer.

The pizza was good once it came. I think the sauce has beer in it. I waver between 3 and 4 stars. I would have given it more if:
    1) They had a thin crust option
    2) Shorter wait
    3) More Friendly service

We had quite a long wait though. At least there were some beat up trivia pursuit cards on the tables to help pass the time.

The people behind the counter were not exactly friendly friendly.

Great pizza place. I visited a couple yrs ago when around 15 friends organized a scenic drive out East. We called ahead so they were ready to seat us when we arrived. All the pizzas were big with abundant toppings, and seemed pretty quality. Prices are about what you'd expect for a pizza joint like this. Friendly staff, although the pizza seemed to take a bit longer than it should. Haven't been back since, but I always suggest it to friends when I hear they'll be passing through or stopping in Roslyn!

The best pizza I have ever had. Normally I throw away crusts, but I eat it here with honey (they have it in packets) and it is great. They also have good salads and bread sticks.

I ordered, sat at the counter, and waited, and waited, and waited.  After about 25 minutes, I asked how much longer.  Was told it would be 15-20 more minutes.  I asked if they had even started my pizza.  They said no, I was still about 3 pizzas away from being started.  They had 4 ovens, but were only using 1.  I don't care if this place was featured on the cover of the holy bible, the service stinks!

Great no nonsense pizza joint, with damn good pizza! We had the garlic, spinach, tomato pizza - it was really good. I love the honey on the table, you save the crust for last and pour yummy delicious honey on the crust - um-mm um-mm good! Don't expect a plate, you eat off the wax paper mats on the table. If you are there around 4:00 you'll see the local dogs come to the front door, bark, and get pizza delivered to them - how awesome!

Village Pizza canNOT be topped, unless you happen to be dining in Roma or Venezia or Florenzia, where Italian pizza is a piece of heaven. This place does its best at being so good, it's incredible.  I love all pizza! The Chicago, Manhattan and even the Californian. But here, it's different. I've never had pizza that tasted like this. It's so sweet! I usually order the small size with some pineapple. Village knows how to make this stuff. When I eat it, I want it to never end.

Best pizza toppings and cheese since we moved to Seattle from Wisconsin, the land of great cheese. We asked for extra cheese and well done crust, and it was perfect. The service was fast, friendly, and helpful. I'd drive out of my way between Seattle and Ellensburg for their pizza.

This is my favorite pizza joint. The combinations they have are creative and the crust is the best, period. If you are anywhere close to this place, check it out. My family and I regularly frequent this place when we are in town. The service and environment are so-so, but the eats are incredible.

It's been years since I've eaten here but from what I recall as a kid I loved their pizza. A really easy-going place where you eat off of wax paper and they would have fun games on the table for kids to play. I highly doubt it has changed that much since I've been, so I would definitely suggest trying it out.

Reading the reviews, I came here with a higher than average expectation. I left with it not meeting it.  We arrived here on a Saturday night and the place was pretty busy.  For being one of the only places open in the small town, I didn't know what to think.  The pizza that was at the tables looked good and smelled good.  The menu was very comprehensive except for the fact that I could not tell what the base price is if I wanted to build my own pie.  Anyways, we ended up choosing a 17 incher and doing 50/50 with the village combo and veggie for the 4 of us.  You order at the counter and the cashier was friendly and helpful.  It ended up being more than enough and the $23 price tag was fair.  It took about 20 minutes before we got our pizza and headed out the door.  The crust was a rolled out fresh dough crust which tasted sweet and a tomato sauce that was sweet too.  There were plenty of toppings and they had a heavy hand with the diced onions.  It's tough to pick out if you are not a onion fan.  The pizza was on the greasy side even though only half had meat.  If I had to compare this to some of the pizza joint here in Seattle, I'd say they are just average and thus the 3 stars and my feeling of being underwhelmed.

Best pizza around! I live part time near Cle Elum and part time in Seattle and this pizza restaurant is one of our favorites. We eat there almost every Sunday night. It's family run and if they're busy, plan for a wait, but it will be SO worth it!
