Review from Amy T.
Villa Amato is a hall where you can rent for your events, parties or weddings.
I had the pleasure of having my wedding here and it was beautiful. I recall my friends telling me when they arrived at this location, "Why the heck did you choose this ghetto location?" and when they got inside, their jaws dropped. Everybody loved it, well that's what they told me. =)
Villa Amato has a very high ceiling and is very spacious. This venue fits up to 400 people (seated), but I found having 360 people (seated) was perfect. This provided room for a dance floor with a DJ booth beside it that was enclosed and out of the way. They supply all the tables and chairs, but if you want chair covers, you will need to bring those yourselves. (Or rent from a decorating company) There is a huge kitchen in the back and washrooms with plenty of stalls. Outside, there is a huge balcony where you can see Science World and looks beautiful at night.
The wedding coordinating was a pleasure to work with and will answer all your questions. For catering, I wanted to have my friend's company cater the food, but Villa Amato only allows their approved list of vendors. I'm assuming they have some contract with each other. There is a private room in the back where I used for a bridal changing room. It was spacious with a couch, table and mirror.
They have an ice cream buffet available for $600, but for a 360 people wedding, it didn't work very well. There was only 1 person scooping ice cream so the line up took forever. They also ran out of ice cream so some people didn't get any. I wasn't too pleased with that, but nothing I can do about it. Keep this in mind for your event.
This place was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I am still very happy that my wedding turned out the way it did despite the little bumps in the road.
I believe the cost to rent this venue has changed so if you're interested, you should call to find out. If you do decide to go with Villa Amato, I hope you have a wonderful event as well. Cheers! -

These people just have the worst attitude I have ever seen. I think this is a top down issue, because if you have ever talked to Mario from Mario's Gelato, you know that he doesn't care about customer service, and is a huge narcissist. Anyhow, we worked with the event coordinator Edita, and she had the most attitude out of anyone I have met in my life. It was a huge imposition for her to do anything, and for someone in sales, I am not sure how she survives. The venue itself will try to gouge you at every opportunity.
I would not recommend this venue if you actually want your special event to be... well,....special.
