This Portuguese food store looks like a fairly new addition to Sargent Ave - not too far from the more well established Portuguese businesses (just west of Arlington). It's a very new and clean store that also happens to serve up a small but good selection of ready to eat food. It's a small Portuguese grocery store that sells various pantry items, frozen fish and seafood, cheeses, and bakery items.

I came for the bifana ($3) which is a pork cutlet that's topped with grilled onions and hot sauce (though I didn't detect any heat in the sauce) served on a freshly baked bun. You can also get a beef version of this in a bun. I would've liked a little more sauce as I found the pork a tad dry. It was a decent sandwich, small portion, no specific flavour - not great but passable on the go. The soup changes daily and is made in house and goes for $2.50. A great lunch deal is the meat in the bun plus soup for $5.

But the best part of this place are their Portuguese custard tarts ($1.49 each). I prefer Viena do Castelo's tarts over the Lisbon Bakery's version as they have a flakier crust and have the perfect level of sweetness. I also really liked these mini Apple pastries ($1.49 each) as they were the perfect lunch size portion. The freshly baked pastries change daily, there were cinnamon buns, cheese buns, cupcakes and some almond tarts available.

Service was extremely friendly and prompt. The entire place is super clean but the ambiance is more grocery store than eatery. So either take out or just enjoy a quick casual meal at one of the four small tables by the window at the front.

Closed Sunday and Monday. Open during the day around 9 am to 5 pm.

I stopped here on the way home and picked up four take-out sandwiches. I ended up with a bottle of olive oil and some homemade sausage too. The place is clean. The service is friendly and fast. You can sit down and eat or have a coffee, latté or Portuguese cold drink. They also have a Portuguese grocery mart. This place is cool. I'm going back because they said they cook old school Portuguese Cod and chips for the old folks.  I hear they have wicked pork cutlet sandwiches and very good pastries. I recommend this joint.
