A truly beautiful spot for the nature lover to visit, and my favourite place to go for a hike. Expansive trails wind and twist throughout woods filled with breathtaking scenery (including a very pretty waterfall), and make this park a must-see location for anyone looking to enjoy the many splendors nature has to offer, while taking in some fresh air and getting a little exercise to boot. Other perks include a playground for children and ample parking.
This is great location to take pictures, either for a specific event, or just to have some photos of you and your friends and/or significant other against a splendid outdoor background.
About an hour or so from the city, but as Ruth D. has said, definitely worth the drive. Put on some comfortable shoes, pack your camera and a picnic lunch, and get ready bask in the sights and sounds of all that this lovely park has to offer. You'll be happy you did. -

I'd heard about Victoria Park and its waterfall a year or two ago, but never actually found it.
This past weekend was beautiful and we decided to take a drive and explore the old Highway #2. We ended up in Truro - and followed the little signs to the Park. Bottom line - well worth the 1-1 1/2 hour drive from Halifax.
There's a great playground area for kids, an outdoor pool open from June for the summer, picnic spots galore, loads of parking and fantastic hiking. There's Jacob's Ladder - 175 very steep steps, or take a more leisurely stroll along a winding, stream with rapids that end at a terrific waterfall.
I admit it. I'm a sucker for waterfalls, even if it's just a trickle of water escaping from a mountain side. Even though this one is nothing like Niagara Falls, it's a wonderful place to hang out.
Next time I'll pack a picnic lunch.
