I really, really wanted to like Vic's.  The decor reminded me of the '80's and it worked.  It advertises itself as featuring all Canadian grown beef and they have specials galore.  All signs pointed to a good meal.

While the beef was cooked fine, it had a funky sauce on it which I didn't care for.  And they added a huge sprig of thyme to the top of my steak, which did nothing but make the whole thing taste like thyme.  And the cut was oval.  Seriously, I've never seen an oval strip steak.

So a negative on the steak, negative on the salad.  Also a negative on the prices.  But the waitress was very sweet, they had plenty to watch in the bar, and the drinks were okay.

Christmas Eve dinner at Vic's was a quiet evening.  In fact, we were the only table in the restaurant.  The kids and I had simple food that was not bad, but more like cafeteria food than a steakhouse.  Nothing wrong with it, just not spectacular.  The service was good and we had a lovely time though.  If you stay in the Harbour Towers, I suggest coming here for appies or maybe breakfast, but there are may other steakhouses in Victoria and the walk into town would be nice.

I would give this place a Minus 100 if I could!!! The only saving grace was our Waitress, whose name I cannot remember, but whom the owners should give a medal, cuz the Kitchen Staff literally threw her under the bus.
We were visiting, and we staying nearby. Tired from a day of walking all over town, we decided to give Vic's a try. What a HUGE mistake!!
First it takes forever to get someone to take our drink order, then even longer to get the drinks, then even longer to order and then even longer to get served!! And no, the place was not busy at all, in fact we should have been leary when the place was half empty at 6:30. Not a good sign, and now I know why.
FINALLY our food appears. We are starving, I take a bite of my risotto, and CRUNCH, yes CRUNCH!!! It was flippen RAW!!!! How could any chef, or cook for that matter let raw Risotto be plated??? The waitress was beside herself, and she deducted both meals off of our bill (two of us had that as a side), which was extremely nice of her. The steak I had was OK.
Still being hungry I order Creme Brulee for dessert..I put my spoon in and out come runny cream..I mean runny..the waitress see this and just shakes her head, takes it away, and apologizes..she was so embarrassed. I felt sorry for her!! But the kitchen staff should NEVER have let those dishes be presented!!! HORRIBLE work ethic!! Will NEVER EVER go back

Glad I had a coupon from the Entertainment book- not the greatest place.  I agree with the reviewer that said it's like the '80's.  We were practically the only people in the place & it took FOREVER to get our food.  The waiter was trying his hardest (we could see he was getting stressed out) and did give us dessert, but it was too late to salvage the poor kitchen service.  There are lots of other places to eat in Victoria- you should maybe look elsewhere.
