So it's no secret that over the last four years, I've practically become a fixture at Veritas (I've joked to the owners they should start paying me for helping create ambiance; they don't think that's as funny as I do, somehow). And sure, that's in part because (cue Cheers theme song) everybody knows my name, and they're always glad I came. But really, it's because I have a fierce appreciation for excellence. Which is what Brooks, Bradley, Eddie, Heather, & the rest of Team Veritas have succeeded in cultivating.

Let's start with the wine. Hundreds of bottles line the wall, while the by-the-glass options take up two pages. From Alexander Valley, to Beaujolais, to McLaren Vale. Don't know a thing about wine? No problem. Team Veritas will ask a few questions to gauge your likes/dislikes, then steer you in the right direction. In fact, to this day, I still can't say what I do or don't like. Because I've delegated my wine selection entirely to Eddie Eakin. His palate is astute, and since he knows our tastes well, we start by telling him how much (or little) we want to spend, and then can be as specific ("A light, dry Spanish red.") or vague ("White. Something delicious.") as we please. Somehow, Eddie always returns with a wine that suits the evening perfectly.

Which brings me to the service. As a majority of the other reviewers have mentioned: Team Veritas does everything it can to make you feel welcome. Of course, when it's a full house, the staff's main focus is on making sure everyone's been properly served (it is a bar, after all). But their love for wine, food, and people is genuine and unpretentious. That love shows when they're helping a novice navigate the by-the-glass menu, or have a few minutes to rave about this amazing bottle they got to taste the other night. And it's this casual warmth and earnest passion for what they do that make Veritas the reigning best wine bar in town.

I love this wine room....so cozy, the servers were knowledgeable and friendly, and it wasn't too crowded, even on a Monday which is the night they do their half-off-every-glass-of-wine special.

The food was delicious, the wines even more so. One small note: Don't be put off by the exterior. It's not bad, but it definitely has a "strip-center look." It's a totally different feel inside...dark woods, comfy seating, great lighting, colorful art on the walls, etc.

Great venue and experience...we'll definitely be back. :)

So when I was in Dallas and in full swing of my plan to get to know the city like a local (ok, I kind of am, but it's been a while), I heard great things about Veritas.  I love wine and cheese, so where could they go wrong?  I went here twice.  The first was on a Friday evening.  I sat at the bar for a while waiting for here, and the bartenders were friendly enough to start small talk with me (always a good thing).  There is an ample selection of wine - always fun to sample.  And I loved the cheese platter.  Was a great quite place to catch up with a girlfriend.

Then I went back on a date on a Wednesday and the place was packed.  Stone oven pizza night!  They were taking orders for someone who was firing the pizzas in a portable oven out front, and yum!  So good and tasted so close to what the pizza is like in Italy.  (Ok, it's been a few years since I've been, but I did get know pizza quite well the year I was there.)

I'm a fan, but my only gripe is that it's in a strip mall.  Okay, it's a small strip mall, and it is a well-place strip mall on Henderson, but never the less, it did take away some of the charm.  But I do promise that once your inside, you'll think that you are transported to another place.

What a great night out, this wine bar is upscale yet refined, not too expensive with a great selection of wines, you feel like you are in the RIGHT spot when visiting this bar.  Need help figuring out a selection the employees are there to help you!  They also have fantastic cheese and meats.  Bottles are reasonable, they have many under $30 to consume at the bar or less to go home and if you buy a case you get an extra 10% off!  What a fun night we had at Veritas.

I like Veritas. And I am going to tell you why I like it. I find that there is always something special in simplicity - the whole less is more tactic. Veritas is just this. With wine bars popping up all over the North Texas map, it's easy for some of them to run together. Not that every wine bar is awesome and make this city that more enjoyable in which to reside. However, Veritas holds a special place in my vino-loving heart, because it's not ostentatious or trying to achieve anything other than a cozy nook to enjoy a glass after work or before a fun night out.

Wedged between the chaos that is Henderson Avenue, it offers a more relaxed alternative to the hustle and bustle of the surrounding nightlife, yet is still 'cool' enough to hang with the best of their Henderson Ave. neighbors. The small, narrow space is lined with floor to ceiling wine racks designated by the region from which they came. What I noticed first, was obviously the wine, but that there wasn't any in-your-face equipment that goes a little over the top. Places like that always make me think, 'we get it - you are a wine bar.' Not Veritas. It's laid-back and approachable with inviting furniture and an adorable little bar that caters to the nightlife group.

Frequent *free*  wine tastings by California vintners?  Yes please!   Fair prices and gracious staff?  Si!   Smoked duck breast and local cheese?  Ja!

The tables are intimate.  The wine selection is varied and vast.  The knowledgable staff will always point you in the right winey direction; while wearing Mavs tshirts and shorts (instead of bowties and those terribly uncomfortable shiny dress shoes).

Why is Eddie the bartender (he calls himself a sommelier) so friggin grumpy all the time?  Jeezus, he made it an ordeal to have a nice, quiet glass of wine after a tough day by being in a rush, being terse, and we felt he had a "who cares" attitude.  And this wasn't just one night, but on a couple of return trips.  Makes me sorry for the owners who probably don't realize this.  Veritas is a nice place with a decent wine selection, but don't try and brave the patio unless you love cigarette smoke.  Isn't there some city statute that says smokers have to stay 25-50' from the front door?  Obviously at Veritas, the patio is for smokers only.

I want to preface this review with a few things.  First, I am not a wine snob.  I like my white wine very sweet.  Call it stuff just a step above Boones Farm.  Second, I didn't go here on a regular day.  I was there for the supper club, and it was our first time there.  I am also not the type of guy to hang out in this part of town.  I prefer your local dive bar that serves Miller Lite on draft and of course, shows sports.  I am also not some art aficionado, but I do enjoy "cool" looking art.

    So....

First, the staff at this place was outstanding.  My first thought when going there was "oh great, wine and food snobs".  But no.  I am guessing one of the part owners helped us pick out a wine, told us the story behind it, came by several times to chat with us about various things.  They kept our bottle chilled and would come by to refill our glass as it got low.  Never too much so it wouldn't get warm.  Very nice dude.  Like I mentioned before, we were there for the food, but one of the bar tenders came by, knew we had never been there before (I am going to say a lucky guess, but a good one none the less).  She was very nice and talked to us a bit as well.  They answered all of our questions about the wine club, the supper club, the wines, etc..  Made us feel very welcome.

The decor in the place is pretty cool as well.  The art on the walls are all done by a local artist.  I am assuming they are all for sale and if I was into spending a lot of money on art, I would definitely buy some.  Very cool pieces with a modern look.  Did I mention I know nothing about art?  It was just cool stuff to look at.

Since we were not there for the wine, I can't really comment on it, but it seemed like they have a huge selection.  They have some beers as well, but if you want beer, i would suggest another place.  Looked like they have wines from all over the world.

Prices were not astronomical either.  We got a bottle for $37, and that was around 2-3 glasses each.  Less that $10 a glass.  Not bad.  Of course they have different price ranges.

Their wine club sounds cool, starting at $30 a month and going up to $120 per month.  2 bottles of wine a month, discounts, other perks.  I am interested in that for the future.

Overall, I was more impressed with the atmosphere than anything, and how welcome we were made to feel.  I could care less if they served me Boones Farm in a glass at $30 a bottle, I would be back, just to hang out.

You should definitely check this out.  I have a feeling, even if you aren't into wine, or are wanting to learn more, they would be happy to sit and chat with you.

If you are a foodie, try and find out more about the supper club.  We knew the chef, that is the only way we knew about it, but I am going to try and find more info for the next time.

Veritas had been recommended to me by friends for quite some time and I finally got around to stopping by. Look, I'm definitely no wine expert but I can at least appreciate a great glass of wine.

The staff here is excellent. They are very personable and knowledgeable. Don't be afraid to ask for a recommendation, they've always got plenty. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed with just the right amount of dim light to relax with friends and enjoy a few sips. Their meat and cheese plates are also excellent to compliment your vino.

Monday's are half price nights so its a great night to give them a try. Veritas is a solid five stars in my book. Give them a try if you haven't already, you won't regret it!

love love LOVE this place! It's right down the street so the location is convenient for me. It's very low-key...not intimidating at all. It's cozy inside and I've actually had my last two birthdays here. Mondays are great since they have half off glasses. a nice little spot to meet someone or a group for a drink!

They only offer cheese and meat plates but you can bring in your own food or have it delivered. There are at least 3 places in the same strip that you can pop into for a bite. In fact, Horne and Decker next door will even serve you at Veritas, I think.

It seems as if I have been a bit curmudeony recently - having been seriously disappointed at a few places. However, this didn't disappoint at all. It is what it is (thanks Popeye!). A nice wine bar - in an odd space, where everything (at least that we had) was carefully selected by whoever buys the product. Some Spanish Chorizo, a few olives and toasted almonds with a couple of glasses of wine - all right on the money. This was a place to start the evening before a full dinner in up town. I am glad we started here - it was so good!

Can't really say much more - it just fit perfectly.

The only thing keeping them from getting 5 stars is the price point on many of thier wines.  The staff is extremely knowledgable and fun.  They'll talk wine with you with appreciation not pretention.  They understand and care about your taste preferences and can recommend wines accordingly.  I appreciate thier candor in helping me select a wine.  I also like that you are encouraged to bring in food from local eateries in the area.

Not sure where to begin. Veritas means truth, so here it is. I agree with past posts on what this place thinks it is.  They might need to step out and look around. Psss..your in a shopping center. This shopping center happens to be half mile from the ghetto as well. Why is this important, you ask. I recommend valet, if full which it might be. Not do to the bar but the whole center gets full. You can park across the street where the hair salon charges 6 bucks. They stay open at night just to charge for the parking...whatever.

If they run food in here they don't make it, you get it from the food places in the shopping center.  The wines... great selection, great taste, and clean glasses. The place is too small, and too crowed to be enjoyed.  Its just wine and beer.

I went during baseball playoffs to meet a friend, they recommended it.... thinking ...ok probably be not so crowded. Wrong. Crazy packed.. weird.. That's what I want to do.. drink bottles of wine and watch a game.. NOT. How bout going to a real bar or a sports bar peeps.  So just heads up on a few things.. the shopping center workers around this place are its regulars.. and there friends.. so there walking in and out, in and out. A few other regulars there drinking 5 plus bottles, get loud and try to start something with this other group with women.. good lord its a wine bar people.

So. Wine GREAT. Otherwise they have nothing special to over, not quite its loud. Not comfortable, its tight. Poor location. so Meh, I've seen a lot places better. Try Mercy's in Addison.  And valet , why must we ...valet for this shopping center...blah.

I've only been once, so for now Veritas gets less than five stars. I don't know if the place serves food (snacks, maybe?), but the wine I ordered just happened to be on special (and I didn't know it) -- and it was a steal. I liked the dark atmosphere and my wine was good. Probably not the best place for large groups, just fyi...

The Spaniard = pure bliss with a glass if delicious, oaky Malbec recommended by the staff helping us.

For dessert, we had an amazing cookies and cream cake ball that melted in my mouth and brought me such joy.

The place was busy on the Thursday we went, but the manchego and spicy chorizo accompanied with the full-bodied Malbec made me feel like I was a world away.

Dropped by on a Thursday evening after having sushi next door at Sushi Axiom. Veritas was packed but service was spot on.

Guys, hear me out. There were probably 40 women and 4 guys here. You know how you hear about places being a sausage fest? Well this place was a pussy fest!! Seriously 3 of the guys were on dates and the one single dude was just milling about. Bring a buddy with you and you'll be the hit of the town. Don't worry if you don't like wine because they serve beer too.

Wine was great though  Tried a malbec that was on the menu but turns out they were pouring something different. Still good though.

I visited the Veritas Wine Room a few weeks back with a friend of mine.  We were out doing some shopping and thought we'd stop to enjoy some wine.

I have to say, this place thinks it's in Highland Park and not in a strip mall.  Someone send them a memo.

The waitress/hostess/only employee we saw working was... nice but judgemental.  It's not like we parked our trailer out front and walked in wearing wifebeaters and hot pants.  I was wearing a maxi dress, and my friend had on jeans and a cute top. I certainly didn't feel like we were posing a threat to her desired clientele.

Speaking of clientele, there was only one other party there, and it consisted mostly of drunk mid 40s adults trying to one up each other.  I don't know why this is noteworthy, since this is just how Dallas is.

Anyway.  The wine was quite good, we tried a dry merlot that was delish! We also ordered the Texas cheese board which was to. die. for.  Everything is local to Texas which is awesome! I really want to go back just for the cheese, but I'll have to put on my judgement deflector before I do.

I realized after a tweet up at Veritas this past Monday that I didn't have a review. I managed to spend $52 on a Monday, so you know it must be good. Or maybe I'm just bad. Actually it's a combination of both, but really that's neither here nor there....

Rubbing elbows with Sushi Axiom and Fish City Grille, Veritas is sitting pretty in the small strip center east of Capitol Pub. And you know what? There's actually parking!

Except on weekend nights. Then just valet and save yourself some trouble. Or walk there, if you live close enough... like I do. Danger, Will Robinson.

I digress. I love the entire staff here. Not only are they friendly and quick, but they know their stuff. They have wines by the glass, a rotating "What we're pouring" special that's a featured discounted wine, and a plethora of bottles to choose from. If you aren't sure what you want, just ask for a recommendation. I've always approved and actually found some must have wines to keep stocked at home.

Now that I'm over in their neck of the woods, I think I'll be joining their wine club ($35/month for 2 bottles and discounts or $60/month for 2 premium wines).

Other specials include 1/2 price glasses all night on Mondays and 20% off bottles on Tuesday with purchase of three meats/cheeses. Get the goat cheese log, Manchego, and proscuitto. You'll be set.

Patio available for warm weather, cozy little interior decorated by local artists for the winter. Oh, and did I mention the free tastings they have almost every week?

Yeah, this place is legit. Mosey on over for a good time.

I made myself go back after my initial review because of sooo many other really great reviews. I went on a Monday night (1/2 price wine night) and the menu says they have a special selection and to ask the server. So, I did and she said they were pouring a Pinot. I asked what kind, she didn't know and left to look at the bottle. Another server walked up and asked if we were taken care of and I asked about the special Pinot selection and she too didn't know. So, they get an A for effort and did bring the bottle and we ordered it to try. We decided to do our own little wine tasting and ordered 6 glasses of wine just to taste.

At the end of the night I was starting to get hungry. A looked around for the server who was nowhere to be found but a man behind the bar saw me looking for someone and came over to help. He was AWESOME and probably if I had started with him at the beginning of the night this would have more stars. I let him select the cheese/meat board and it was really good. His personality was energetic and he seemed knowledgeable.

I am giving Veritas two stars because I am personally not impressed by the wine by the glass selection. The service was OK and I really liked the guy at the end of the night. It's pretty inside but I wouldn't recommend this place though if you're a true wine lover. It's a good little place for the masses and the wine is OK. It is pretty but that's about it.

I like Veritas. I like that Veritas isn't packed to the brim all the time and that I can hear myself think while patronizing the place. The wine is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is conducive to good conversation. They have live music certain days of the week, but I don't remember it ever being too obtrusive.

We ordered at the bar and sat out on the patio celebrating what is hopefully the early beginning of spring. Weirdly, we were the only people out there, but the staff checked up on us a couple of times so that was nice.

If you're a wino and chronologically or psychologically over the age of 25, this is definitely worth a try.

Side note: Parking in the small lot is probably a no-go during busy hours, so if you don't want to valet, just park down a side street and walk. The exercise is good for you.

This fermented grape joint provides a perfect atmosphere to have a quick glass before or after dinner, as it is located right smack dab between a bunch of hot eateries. Or, you can even sit and probably have a full meal and bottle if you really feel obligated to.

The staff is very approachable, not in the least bit snobby. The vibe is not too dark, intimate, or stuffy. Veritas provides a small tasting counter, some bar seats, and a few small tables.

The by-the-glass offerings are a little pricier than normal, but they have plenty of deals floating around during random times. Also, I recently realized that these places charge for their "purveying" services. They source well, as I really liked the current selection. Not everything is straight out of Napa... though I did have a Chardonnay from Napa.

Head on over to Veritas to try wines (they pour strong tastings), drink wines (they pour a healthy glass), and buy wine (they have a unique library). The drinkery is relaxed, friendly, and no frills. Just a great place for a good ol' get-sloshed-on-wine time.

What a wacky night! My girlfriends and I were not even planning to hit up Veritas Wednesday. Our original plans were attend the beer tasting at Katy Trail for a Yelp Elite event, but little did we know that the Rangers were going to the World Series and parking everywhere would be a nightmare. Fast forward to Veritas. After much wrangling, my girlfriend made the call and we found parking and went in.

Veritas is a cute wine room easily located with very warm decor. Unfortunately the same thing cannot really be said for the staff. I'm not sure what was going on with them, but they seriously left a bad taste in our mouth minus the one guy that everyone seems to talk about one here. He's a cute, teddy bear that I would have definitely loved to have dealt with because he has such a sweet, infectious smile and is very warm. The guy and the other girl... not so much. I mean, the girl had a scowl on her face like she was having cramps, and honestly choosing to think she did made me just want to be nicer to her, so I was. My friends also had the issue of having to stand for 10 minutes, not for the bartenders to get to them, but for them to finish their conversation about the dude's Grandma or something. They also seemed annoyed when they realized that my homegirls did not go away. Damn them for not just going behind the counter, pouring their own wine and checking themselves out! Alas, things did work out the way there were supposed to and we settled in at a table.

So, what about the wine? The wine is a bit pricey per glass, nor is the selection big in comparison to Times Ten, Mercy or Wine Therapist. I will suggest the house Riesling though. It was really delicious. Speaking of delicious, the cheese plate was yummy, but I'm not really sure if it was worth the price.

The one great thing I will give Veritas is that it is a great place to have a conversation with friends. We ended up sitting in the ultra comfy chairs in the front and talked for a couple of hours uninterrupted and even with the game on and people in the other room, did not have to yell or even talk loud to hear each other.

I think I'd definitely hit up Veritas again, but it will definitely have to be on a half off night, otherwise, it is not really worth it.

Consider yourself busy every Tuesday night.  Veritas and Cane Rosso have teamed up for the best partnership since peanut butter & jelly, Lennon & McCartney, and Ben & Jerry, pairing 1/2 priced wines by the glass and Cane Rosso's nearly legendary pizza.  That's right:  ANY wine by the glass that they pour regularly and Cane Rosso pizza.  Not sure... wait...no, I'm quite positive there might not be anything better.  Tho I'm usually a believer in the bottle (obvy I'm going to drink 4 glasses), this promo lends itself to trying different varietals you might not normally allow yourself.  And, if you haven't had the pleasure of grubbing down on CR pizza yet, unclear of what rock you've been under.  I'm a believer.  This is not-playing-around, amazeballs pizza.  So, whip out your calendars, set an alert, send out an Outlook request, because Tuesday night at Veritas is the. place. to. be.

Ended up here tonight with some friends kind of last minute, and didn't actually see the inside, just the patio - but it was a lovely experience, the wine was very nice, and the service was nicer. Well, my service was nice, I was lucky enough to have one of the owners, Brooks, as my waiter. The rest of the table did fine too, although the server had left and returned and poor Brooks was covering everything.

We had a meat/cheese plate, and due to a couple members of the party requested no pork - so we got to enjoy duck and bison. I checked the menu and I am pretty sure the bison was the Habanero/Cheese Bison Summer Sausage -- it was FANTASTIC!

I'm really not a fan of the douchey dallas night time scene, and getting my car back from valet (next door, not the Veritas valet) was a pretty excruciating experience, but I would go back to Veritas! and that's saying a lot for me!

Simple, but oh so pleasurable. Never would think this place would stand out, but don't judge a book by it's cover or the shelf it sits on.  Wines were phenomenal and the cheeses were delicious. Great little hideaway. Ssshhhhhh!  Don't give away my secret.

When it comes to wine, you might as well put a dunce cap on my head. I really am clueless! So I was a little intimidated when I went in to Veritas. However, I got a nice vibe upon walking in.

The place was dimly lit, which was nice and gave it atmosphere. I really dug the dark wood tables and comfy couches, and the fireplace near the front was awesome!

A young gentleman came up to me, and I asked him for suggestions. I hate wine snobs, and was pleased to see that he was as far from pretentious as you can get. The Riesling he brought me was absolutely divine, as was the Asiago cheese he suggested to go with it.

I really can't wait to go back. I think I would actually enjoy drinking wine a lot more if I did. Kudos to both the owners for  such a fun and laid-back approach. I am a very happy customer!

Visited this place for the first time, on a Monday evening. I enjoyed the atmosphere but the service needs a major make over. Every time I needed to order something, I had to flag down the waitress. Then she would disappear for a while. Several friends have recommended this place; I am assuming because they are frequents, they receive the best service.

I may try this place again with my friends who are regulars, just to see if the service is any better.

*Sitting by the fire enjoying a nice glass of Pinot, reading my favorite novel*

Oh, Hello! *puts down book* How are you today? Would you like to join me in a nice glass of wine by the fire? Pinot not your choice? Ok, well here look at the menu *hands you the menu*. Ah, the Cabernet, nice choice. Turns to nice gentleman making rounds..."Oh excuse me, can we get a glass of the Cabernet? Great thanks!"

Great conversation, lovely atmosphere. Hmm...wine is definitely setting in. Lets get the cheese platter with assorted goodies.

*mouth full* lets get another round...

Place seems to be getting more dark and definitely a lot more comfy...maybe I'll take a nap for 10 minutes. Ah hell...i'll get another glass instead. This time...I'll try the Italian desert wine, goes nice with my cheese.

*head falling down, eyes are heavy...possible snoring*

Ok, friends I guess I should go, see you tomorrow for Happy Hour...that way I can ponder my choices of either $1 off glasses under $8, $2 off glasses over $8, $1 off beer, 10% off bottles of wine.

Yes will definitely be back...with my pillow and slippers.

    Wait...where am I?

Red red wine you make feel so fine! We discovered this place when it first opened and it has quickly become a favorite. The owner, Brooks, is amazing. He is so friendly and he even let us host a fundraiser here for my team when we did the 3day walk for Breast cancer. We made a good amount of money too!

Everyone loved the cozy atmosphere, there are TONS of wines to choose from, chocolates, cheeses, and other local Texas made treats. They will even let you bring in sushi from Sushi Axiom next door.

This place is less stuffy then your average wine bar and they have some truly unique wines too. I found the best wine I have ever had, it tasted like fruit roll ups. After 2 bottles, I forgot the name of the wine, the name of myself, and where I parked my car ( which is good, I should not have been driving). Shut up, you can't tell me what to do!

    2 thumbs up! Or is it 4? I don't know, I'm drunk. You're pretty.

I like my wine bars dark and cozy with multiple glasses and bottles of wine available as well as some nibbles to keep me from getting wasted and making a fool of myself.  Veritas fits this profile perfectly!

The yelpers sat in the front in some cozy chairs right by the window so we could see people walking by on the sidewalk.  People watching always makes things more fun!  The wine list shows many types of wine by the glass, so the hardest thing to do is choose what you want to drink.  I enjoyed the malbec I chose for sure.

You can also peruse all the wines displayed along the walls and I assume you can get a bottle to drink instead of just a glass if you desire (and really, when wouldn't you prefer a bottle?).  The owner was friendly and knew a lot about the wines which is a good sign, so ask one of the owners if you just can't figure out what to get.

Apparently they also have food items such as cheese and crackers, etc.  OR you can bring in food from a nearby establishment.  Sweet!

Overall I could see coming here when I want a relaxed atmosphere to catch up with some friends in a quiet, cozy environment or snuggle in the corner with a BF.

Veritas has all the things it takes to make a good wine bar- namely wine. Lots and lots of wine- not inexpensive but nothing over the top either. My Riesling was around $11. The selection was good- don't take my word, I know nothing about wine besides what I think tastes good.

It was nice to see a fireplace on such a cold night, but everyone was crowded around it so we couldn't make use of it. I'm pretty sure the fireplace gets limited use here in Texas but it's a nice touch. Also a nice touch- TVs, including a big screen. I'm sure this pisses a few wine lovers off but makes even more dudes pretty happy.

The old world, rustic decor is lovely but not really my style. I'd rather a place have more character and be a little more authentic or unique. And not in a shopping center. There was a good age range present, so many people would feel comfortable here except maybe fraternizing college kids. It was kinda fun to see old people stumble out drunk.

Veritas is good, it just lacks that unique charm that would bump it up to a four star in my book.

It really shouldn't have taken me so long to review Veritas, but for some reason it's escaped my attention and I'd like to set the record straight now. If anyone's read my reviews of Lower Greenville establishments, you'll know I'm not often impressed. But I'd venture so far as to say that Veritas, despite its strip mall scenery, is quite possibly the best wine bar in Dallas.

The wine selections have always been varied, new and interesting. Prices are reasonable, or at least as reasonable as wine bars allow. And the staff is VERY friendly and VERY knowledgeable. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, rustic, and entirely comfortable. It can be intimate enough for a first date, and is versatile enough for a large birthday toast or going-away happy hour. And the small food options are very good and entirely in line with what should be offered at a wine bar. The place gets crowded, but not in a horrible way; rather, in a way that reassures you that you're in a good spot and amongst friends.

Went here for a girls night.  The wine and cheese were good.  The decor was interesting and upscale, so I was surprised that the atmosphere was somewhere between a sports bar and a dive.  It was a game day, but, if I wanted waitresses dressed like strippers, I would go to Hooters.

This quaint little wine bar in the lower Greenville area is byfar the best wine bar I have ever been to. The atmosphere is absolutely perfect! The paintings on the walls are constantly changing as people buy them and the artist replaces each piece. The actual bar itself is made up of wine crates, which looks amazing. Each chair is gorgeous, antique, and different from the others. It's perfectly set up for a group of friends to gather in here and just relax, catch up, and enjoy a little Vine.

In addition, one of the owners, Brooks, is not only knowledgeable, but obviously passionate about wine. I've never seen someone's eyes light up more when talking about their business. Great service. Great place.

Part 2 of the Friday night "wine bar hopping" (see my Dali review) and Veritas definitely fit the bill!  We have been here before and I really like the place, although I felt a little older than the rest of the crowd this time...sigh...

We have only ordered by the glass so I'm not sure how the bottles work, but I did notice one couple taking a bottle from the retail section and having the bartender open it for them, so I'm thinking that's an option and probably less expensive than a lot of places!

My glass of Moscato had a funk smell to it, the bartender stuck his nose in and declared it "OK" as its description included thyme, but he generously poured me a new glass anyway.  Still the funk smell but it was delicious!

Good place to relax and enjoy a glass!

Veritas is so awesome that I just might very well bring it some gorgeous flowers one day!  Then again, I'll likely just keep coming in to swirl & sip.  The atmosphere is great, the service is above & beyond what I could ask for, and the selection is vast.

My ONLY negative is the valet that is in the Veritas lot.  They're rude.  Lucky for them that Veritas is awesome enough to make it worth putting up with their Debbie-Downer efforts...or I'd take my $5 valet expense & apply it towards a wine bill elsewhere.

    YEA for Veritas!
