As the rating says, As good as it gets! Best exchange rates for CAD into US $! Almost 1:1. They accept credit, debit cards too. Which makes my life easier because I don't like bringing cash with me.
Line-up during lunch time gets pretty long. So I suggest coming in the morning or afternoon. -

Best place to exchange USD into CAD in Vancouver.
I normally travel Vancouver with my credit cards and very few cash. (less than $200 for a week trip, just enough for hotel tips, skytrain, and other incidentals.) The rates are very competitives and this place doesn't charge flat surcharge (normally between $2.50 and $3.50 for other currency exchanges) which makes it perfect for a small transaction. -

Cheap money exchange means more US$ in my pockets.
Par(ish) Dollar plus great rates ate VBCE means a great two month get away in Hi.

I had a couple dozen USD still in mah pocket and since this place was just down the street from my hotel, Delta Suites, I popped in her for some currency conversion action. The line moves along good enough and good staff.

I had to change my Canadian dolla dolla billz over to Chinese Yuan before my big vacay to the Communist Capital, so I stopped into the Bullion after work. These dudes offer superior exchange rates as compared to banks, and also carry more currencies than banks, as many banks I checked in with didn't actually convert Canadian to Chinese.
If you go at lunch time, expect a big wait, but if you go around 4:30 like I did, there was no line whatsoever. I quickly changed my moolah, and am now posting this review while I wait for one of my domestic flights within China, since all of my other favourite sites are blocked by the Great Firewall of China. Good times.... -

* Who knew South Korea is considered exotic? *
Ok, so I never thought changing South Korean Won back to Canadian Dollars would be a challenge.
I failed at HSBC because apparently South Korea is too "exotic": http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
I failed at Moneyway because apparently they bait and switch by giving rates that are 20% higher on the phone than in person: http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
Vancouver Bullion & Currency Exchange to the rescue! They didn't view the currency as exotic. As a matter of fact they list Korea on their "Major Currencies" list leaving the exotic list for countries such as Brunei, Lithuania, and Syria. And yes, they handle even those "exotic" currencies without a problem at all. They even consider Croatia and Fiji major currencies by their definition. I'm liking this place!
Not only do they handle South Korean Won without a problem - they have excellent rates on it too!
So excellent rate, no additional service fees/commissions/etc., very professional service. No brainer. They've got my currency exchange business from now on.
But wait - they even have a preferred rate ID card to give a slightly better rate (not much of a difference - but might as well take it if they offer, right?): http://www.vbce.ca/ima...

Better rates than banks, and no fee for cash or $1000+ transactions. A couple of months ago, I used VBCE to change a CAD bank draft into a USD check (so I can mail it to the US) and the guy was nice enough to open the door for me even though they had just closed 2 minutes ago.
Last year, I had to change a huge amount of USD (huge to me, anyway) to CAD bank draft. The preferred rate wouldn't make a difference for smaller amounts, but on the occasions when you're actually changing thousands or tens of thousands, the discount is enough for... several Japadogs. -

I foolishly tried to buy some Argentina Pesos from my bank (CIBC) on the same block and was immediately referred by the teller to pay a visit to VBCE.
So I did, and I walked out with way more Pesos and Greenbacks as a result.
More money = more Malbec = bigger smile
I would give em a five star rating, except that they don't give away any free samples.
