Van is great at cutting hair. He takes a little longer than most but it's because he does it right. This place is open 7-days a week and until 8pm during week nights. The location and hours make it very convenient and the price is right.
The inside could used to be spruced up a little but I'm not here for the ambiance so I let it slide. -

So, I finally made it in for my second haircut. I was somewhat disappointed, but hope that the third time will be the charm. Regrettably, the third time won't be for a while for reasons that follow.
I decided to stop by on my way home from work. The lady who cut my hair last time was nowhere to be found. i understood from an overheard conversation that she was in hospital. I hope that she feels better soon.
Since I was already there, I hopped into the nearest seat, occupied by a man whom I believe to be "Van". I believe this because there was a piece of paper on his work station that said "Van". If I'm wrong, I apologize to the real "Van".
Here's where I accept my share of responsibility for what I consider an unfortunate haircut. On my first visit, I brought along a picture of the desired "after". I failed to do so this time. Instead, I thought that my instructions "short back and sides, longer and curly on top" were pretty clear.
Apparently, they weren't. Van (?) went to town with the clippers, then beamed at his handywork saying "no more curl".
I'm left with a haircut that would be suitable for military service, or delousing at the local penitentiary. At least the girlfriend loves the new me. I'm grateful 1) that I won't be taking any photos soon, and 2) If I were ever worried about a bald spot, I now see such fears are misplaced.
I may still go back, once it grows in again (fortunately my hair grows fast). I'll just make sure to bring a photo along to replicate the successful point-at-picture-point-at-head technique.Listed in: February Non-Food Reviews, Shave and a Haircut...

Solid cut. Both owners were very friendly. The men's cut was $17. Great service too! Will definitely go back.

Great place to get a decent hair cut. Excellent attention to detail and now I know where I'm going again in a month!
