As far as thrift stores go, the Value Village in Richmond is okay but, nothing special.

I find the shoes section to typically be quite bare, the shoes to be quite worn, and I've yet to see anything in my size that I even bothered trying on, never mind actually purchased. I will say that when I was there last week there were three or four pairs of Italian made heels that, though outdated, I found quite cute. Much too small for me though and they were a first. Their dress section is about half the size of the Value Village in Surrey on King George at 68ish Ave, which I'm always quite disappointed about but, I have seen some very cute pieces in there. They do however seem to get some very good furs in... Surprisingly good furs.

As with all Value Villages, considering that everything has been donated, things can be quite overpriced and I probably wouldn't suggest a special trip out to it but, if you're in the area it might not hurt to check it out.

Value Village just isn't the same as it used to be.

The staff at this location are rude and unhelpful, and considering the goods are used the prices are quite high.

Next time I want to go on the hunt for some thrifty treasures I'll head to an independently owned store or the Sally-Ann.
