What can I say about this place! I've been shopping here for years and it's my all time favourite thrift shop. I find a lot of the people shopping here are older, 35+ so there's a great selection for the younger crowd in their teens, twenties and early thirties. At Halloween this is one of THE places to go. Their 50% off sales? Amazing. On a day to day basis they're great, too. I'm always able to spot something edgy or cute it's just a matter of whether it fits me. They often don't catch the designer items either and when they do it don't make much difference, I've seen Guess and Ralph Lauren things for cheap cheap cheap! That's just clothing, kitchen wear and knick knacks are awesome here as well; they have a great eclectic mix. It's generally not too busy or at least it doesn't seen like it since the location is huge. The people who work there are generally friendly, some more than others of course. All in all I love it, I usually go on a trip with a friend or my mom and pop by Wu's just across the street after. No real excuse not to make it out there since there's a bus that stops right in from of it. They've also started with a lot more coupons and promotions so more bang for your buck!

I hit up my local Value Village once a year for Halloween costumes. This location has tons of costumes or just dig through their mountain of clothing to find a special piece to add to your character. Make sure to go early in October or you risk getting all the leftovers!
Oh and remember to bring in your old clothing or items for donation instead of throwing them away. You don't want the item anymore, but someone else might need it. -

I'm not an avid VV shopper, since they're out of the way for me, but sometimes I go with friends that are.
I found a cute Starbucks mug that I had wanted a few years ago but didn't feel like paying $13 for. It was very coffee/tea-stained, but that came off very easily with moist baking soda. I also got two skirts whose styles are basic enough to wear without feeling out of style (normally, not as a costume). All for $15! -

Not a bad location. It can be hit and miss sometimes as far as pricing goes - some stuff can be really cheap here while other locations have the same item for more money - wish they had a standard on pricing.
If there is medium-visable damage to an item, depending on who you ask, they can be fair on a price reduction.
Not accepting and more large furniture items or large electronics (Tv's), take that to the Salvation Army at 5665 Kingsway in Burnaby - just past Inperial Street, across from the On On House. -

Enormous! Pricier than US cousin Thrift Town. Good values in the accessories and well organized book section.
