I never thought that I'd be singing Before He Cheats with Reena M, and almost hitting some notes, or remembering Wilson Phillips Hold On with Janet and Pennylane. http://www.youtube.com...
Thanks Reena for organizing such a fun night! I think our karaoke times just keep getting better and better. Especially now that we're breaking out the dance offs and groupies! Not to mention the coolest of all Karaoke MC's we've had (in my opinion) so far. I'm actually really happy we were one of the few tables at Shark Club last night, means we dominated the stage! I'm already excited for whenever the next one is!
PS. Thanks Tim, Barry and Mark for being Ringo, John and George for our Pennylane Tribute... which I guess makes me Paul -

Karaoke = therapy by microphone. Sure the Shark Club was a little empty, but that just meant we got to rock the place. It was fabulous to be able to sing some old favourites, since even with the huge songbooks, our host Whitney also has hundreds of songs that aren't in the book. You just had to ask!
Loved hearing everybody's different karaoke stylings, from country to rap with rock and hip-hop in between. And let's not forget the fabulous Yelp dance team - thanks for getting down with me on Just a Girl, ladies!
The only drawbacks were the limited service and drink selection at the Shark Club.
Thanks for organizing Reena!Listed in: Yelping: the Live Show

So Much FUN! I have not had such a good time since.... the last Yelp event I went to. The selections were amazing; it was interesting seeing what kinds of songs people chose. All of the were performed with passion and gusto; I have not heard so much power singing in a long time. The host was also great; he kept the atmosphere lively and fun.
As voiced above, the only downsides were the rather non-existant waitress, a rather pitiful food menu, and a limited drink menu. Beyond that, it was an amazing event - thank Reena for organizing it! -

Thanks Reena for organizing a fun night out! The turnout was awesome!
I enjoyed having a nearly private karaoke event, since there were only a couple people not in our group that sang. I'm guessing it was because the service and prices suck... but at least the karaoke was good. To be fair, the waitress was good when we arrived. But once the food came it was another story. Sigh. However, not the fault of our lovely hostess.
Great singing, great dancing, and I look forward to the next event!
PS - Crystal is quite the motivator. And has awesome dance moves.Listed in: Yelp Love

Success!! It was so great to see so many people out to this. And since it was pretty empty at the Shark Club, Yelp was running the show. And not to toot our own horns or anything, but I think we have some strong contenders for Canadian idol.
Minus a star since the waitress was not very present... and since we were the largest of 5 tables there, you would have thought we'd get more service.Listed in: Yelpage

Way to go Reena, this was so much fun! The place had crappy and expensive food and drinks but it was SO much fun! Yelp Vancouver is a great group and I can't wait for the next karaoke night! It should be at least monthly! Or I could settle for once every 3 weeks too. Thanks Reena for planning this and I look forward to hearing about the next one sometime soon!
