This night went so smoothly and that's due largely to collaboration with Nuba, Honey Lounge, and other yelpers! (On a side note, this goes to show that one can pull off fantastic events with people helping on your side!)
A big thanks to Nuba http://www.yelp.ca/biz... and Honey Lounge http://www.yelp.ca/biz... for being so accommodating do my requests! And another huge thank you to Katie and Derek for baking a yelpy chocolate cake and bringing themed napkins!
And of course, the night was especially awesome simply because I was in the company of so many great Yelp friends. And because Crystal had an amazing time.
Mission: Successful. -

As last night's birthday girl I felt truly spoiled by everyone who came out for dinner and dancing! An enormous thank you to Reena for organizing everything and to Katie and Derek for my awesome birthday cake -complete with Yelp burst!
Nuba, you did a fantastic job at accommodating the two big tables of us. I loved hearing them shout out "Number 5 Hat trick" utilizing their numbered system to the fullest! And of course, the food! I devoured a plate of cauliflower, nibbled on the duck, feasted on Le Petit Feast and found a new favourite - the fried halloumi cheese and tomato salad - OMG! Thank you Nuba for treating us to this cheesy goodness and the champagne toast at the end of our meal. You guys and gals truly know how to make a party of 25 (ish) feel special!
Mad props to Honey Lounge for letting us all in cover free before 1030! And for the drink tickets because I was the birthday girl - I've never, ever been given such love at a club! And then to top it off, you played so many songs we all loved. It was like the DJ was reading my mind - including No Diggidy! How did you know I wanted to dance to Blackstreet?

I'm making my 300th review a special one, because it really was that special.
Event: Crystal's Birthday Bash!

Awesomeness Rating: 5 stars
With dinner starting off at Nuba, I knew that this would be a good night. There were 2 large tables of us Yelpers, and Nuba handled us well, with their 'numbers' system. I noticed that their menu has changed a bit, with a much larger cocktail list.
My drink of choice was the 2 ladies and a moose: sparkling wine, chambord, and grapefruit juice. So good.
Then came the special treat appy courtesy of Nuba, tomato and cheese!
I got lamb chops, which also came with taboulleh and hummus. These were cooked perfectly, and it was soo juicy and tender! The bowl of fresh pita slices also helped me in devouring all the goodness.
Next came the Yelp! birthday chocolate cake made by Katie, and it was delicious! To top all that off, a glass of champagne for everyone for the special toast!
Off to Honey Lounge where we all got free cover! Great music made for some fun dancing times!
Again, a Happy Birthday to Crystal and thanks to Reena for a planning great night spent with great people!! -

This was seriously a lovely and relaxing dinner. Nuba was everything I thought it would be, what a great choice Reena!

This gathering has got to be one of my favourites thus far. It was like a Yelp family dinner. Crystal, I have so much admiration for you and the work you've done building the Yelp community here in Vancouver and getting the word out.
I know the next bash will not be your last ... because your "limelight" will not burn out.

Wow. Good times, good food, good people, good music. What more can you ask for?
Huge props to Reena for all her organizing, and a very Happy Birthday to Crystal! Katie and Derek, well done on the delicious cake, too!
My clothing felt tight after dinner because the food was so good and so plentiful, and though I tried, we could not finish it all. If my purse had had more room I would have taken the leftovers home. I could have had a meal of just the dips and taboulleh. Really very good. Thanks Nuba for treating us so well.
Honey Lounge was pretty fun, with good tunes and amusing people watching. It was nice to talk to some of the people from the other dinner table while we were there, and to bust it to some songs from high school. Thanks, Honey Lounge.Listed in: Yelp Love
