I hate to say it but I have grown out of Urban Outfitters, both physically and stylistically and moved over to its more mature cousin Anthropologie.

That being said, UO is still my go to place for quirky gifts, housewares and cute shoes. Usually located upstairs, the housewares are brilliant.

This location is less cluttered to the Yonge/Dundas location and I think it easier to find what you are looking at.

This place stinks and the prices, the image it projects and the quality of the clothing are sketchville. Admittedly, I've gotten a few things here from the sale rack and last minute Christmas gifts, but like H&M, the quality is bad, except the prices are ridiculously high, higher than what it's really worth. Should I mention the backbone of the operation steals designs and ideas from independent designers and fashion bloggers? Teens can soak it up all they want, but I will no longer shop here on principle. Think about supporting local Toronto shops and on-line vendors if you want unique, good quality, fashionable clothing, jewelry and housewares.

PS. The sales people are always nice though.

Urban Outfitters used to excite me. The more I visit here and neighbouring secondhand stores, the more I realize that most of this place is a knock-off of said secondhand stores. This depresses me.

Also, why do I always run into people I dislike here?

I tend to very slightly prefer this location over the Yonge/Dundas location (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...) , and I'll tell you why.

Being that the UO location is located across from the Eaton Centre has huge drawbacks; it draws a crowd, thus taking all my sizes with it.
That store is great to peruse for ideas, but this is the location I end up coming to when looking to purchase. I bought a great Silence & Noise jacket last year when my size was sold out there, and ditto again with a cardigan and dress. It's great to be average, isn't it?

The accessories are much easier to inspect since the cash register is usually not as busy. I've found many a necklace, sunglasses and tights that I would have just as easily passed by at it's sister location.

Also, since this store is much less crowded than the other, it's a lot easier to get around, get a fitting room and get decent service.

Urban Outfitters is great, but the Yonge & Queen location is miles better than this newest one. This location seems to have less stuff, and the second floor (where the sales are) is usually pretty disorganized and picked through. They still have good stuff, but it's just not as well-stocked. Also, the same three CDs (The Strokes, The Rapture and Black Kids) seem to be playing every time I stop in for a visit.

The fitting rooms, however, rank among my favourite fitting rooms in the city. They are hugely spacious and adorned with gorgeous patterned wallpaper, ample hooks to hang your stuff and are generally very private and roomy.

I've heard about this store before but never gave it much thought, 'cuz, idiot me was confusing it with Urban Planet and Urban Behaviour (and god knows what other stupid pseudo-bohemian BS stores with the word Urban in it).

Definitely different and much better then the aforementioned stores. Particularly since they have the word urban in their name and, are actually in the city.

They have a delicious mix of basics (plain shirts, cardies, and jeans), to some wonderful little oddities (like this asymmetrical zip hoodie I bought).

The prices run a little higher then I would've liked, but since some of the pieces are things you'd never find anywhere else, and the quality is good, makes it worth the $20 more then all the other Urban Whatever stores.

I didn't realize there was another location of Urban Outfitters in Toronto. This location is on the South-East side of Queen Street W and Spadina.  You can't miss the big wooden oversize doors. Inside it's a pretty standard Urban Outfitters store.  There are two floors, the first floor sells women's wear, accessories (scarfs, purses etc) and little weird gifts.

I looked at the sunglasses and found a pair that I quite enjoyed (and by enjoy I meant that didn't look hideous on me) and that were reasonably priced - $20. Unfortunately their color selection waned, and I didn't end up buying them. I will have to make my way to the Yonge Street location sometime soon.

They also had a wide selection of fall scarfs. My friend is obsessed with scarfs and I think it has rubbed off on me somewhat, as I had a sudden urge to buy a scarf. They had some nice scarfs and some not so nice ones.

I love the clothes here, I found a nice long cardigan, something that I've been looking for for a while.  Too bad it was severely overpriced, i would have liked to add it to my cardigan collection 08.

I love the clothing at this store and I hate that there isn't an Urban Outfitters in Ottawa or many other Canadian cities. It's very true that the clothing is severely overpriced considering the simplicity of some of the pieces. However, the styles and quality are usually better than anything you'd find at other trendy clothing stores, especially chains. They offer pieces for a variety of styles, but they mainly cater to the hipster look that's so popular in Toronto.

The store has two levels. The first level is women's clothing, accessories and books. There's even an additional semi-level for women's clothes in the landing between the two stairs leading to the second floor. On that floor, there are men's clothing and home decor, including some awesome comforters.

Due to the high prices, I would recommend this store as a place to buy trendy accessories and some basic pieces to your wardrobe, rather than a one stop shopping location.
