The clothes here are kind of wanna-be vintage and a little overpriced.

Once in a while you can find funky sneakers here on sale!

Urban Outfitters is the place to go in downtown Toronto for lomo cameras and accessories since there is no official lomo store here.

I like this location much more than the other two in Toronto. There's a large apartment section in it, which is nice because if you have a friend that spends a lot of time trying things on you can flip through a funny book or play with the toys with no real intrusion from the staff.

Nice fashions.  But high end prices for bummy / casual / bohemian clothing, doesn't work - and every time I go there, the prices catch me off guard.  Prices aren't changing, and they've been around for several years now.

I guess I can accept Anthropologie more, since they're purportedly marketing themselves to women who earn an annual income of $150-$200 K (google "anthropologie marketing strategy" for more); their quality also tends to be higher.  Their style is similar to that of Urban Outfitters, of which the latter seems more geared to affluent and trendy 20-low 30 somethings.

Have I ever bought anything there?  Um, yes.  In my ten+ years of being in the City, I've bought 1-3 or 4 items in total there.

I'm willing to pay more $$ if it's for a classic piece that I can use for a while.  Otherwise, I'll tend to go elsewhere for classic pieces, and for cheaper bummy (to bum around the home) or bohemian items.

Okay, here's the deal with Urban Outfitters. Buying their stuff at full price is a massive rip off and the clothes definitely aren't worth it. FYI - they probably have something equally trendy/stylish at forever 21/h&m across the street at half the price.

But still, I give Urban 4 stars. I can't help it. It's pretty fun to shop in and has some seriously good lookin' stuff.

The best part about Urban Outfitters? The sales! Everything goes on sale. Then the dress you loved is under 30 bucks (down from 79) and is a total steal. Warning: generally the quality of the clothes from here is NOT great. But the stuff is really cute and scouring the sale racks can be pretty fun and rewarding.

I also love the apartment stuff. Got a great lamp (on sale) for 20 bucks. I've got my eye on a quilt from their home section at the moment - let's hope for a good sale! They also have some cute/funny stuff priced from 10-20 bucks, good for unique bday or xmas gifts!

I hate to admit, but Urban Outfitters is probably my favorite chain store to shop at.  I've only been to this store twice and both times on Boxing Day.  With that in mind, I must say that this place is a hectic zoo, but you can get some really really good deals if you want to get there early and search through the sale racks (the sale is usually 50% all sale items).

My sister, a more careful shopper than I, has gone out of the store with a blazer, shirt, dress, and two pairs of BDG pants for under $40.

Despite the naysaying of Urban Outfitters in general, I am a huge fan and use the store's website to get outfit ideas and make a general shopping list for myself. I browse things on the site, make a note in my phone or in a list of some sort (go figure, I love lists - who knew??) and then head to the store to track down the items I want. I just can't be bothered with the conventional method of picking through too many racks - I get bored fairly quickly and the organization of this location leaves something to be desired at most times (ie stuff on bottom shelves that's not displayed anywhere else in the store, shirts in cubbyholes or forgotten hooks and piles, etc). So it's just easier to describe/point and ask.

Yes, most things are overpriced but you don't have to buy EVERYTHING in your wardrobe at UO. I tend to buy unique pieces and jewellery only, and stick to cheaper stores for classic staples or fleeting trends. Some of the jewellery and accessories they have are stunning - really unique pieces
that you won't find anywhere else and they're usually nicely showcased on mannequins throughout the store.

The only downside to this location is that there are never enough cashes open and the lines are pretty long so I would recommend dragging someone (a work husband or otherwise platonic male friend will do) to the store with you and tasking them with waiting in line while you browse and gather all of your stuff. By the time you're ready to pay they MIGHT have neared the front of the line.

Anyone who really knows me understands my love and hate relationship with Urban Outfitters. Like Kat F., I love the website, but personally, I recoil with the thought of perusing the store for my item(s) of interest. Looking around when I'm not in search of anything is a hoot, however.

While a significant portion of my wardrobe comes from UO, not everything is made alike, many of their items are of dubious quality, and generally, yes, most items do go on sale. They're not nearly as overpriced as Anthropologie, their sister store, though almost everything at UO is made of similar quality.

Some of their private lines are made much better than others, like Tula, Silence & Noise and Lyell. The lines I tend to stay away from because of history and bad experience are Kimchi and Lux.

It's really fun to go looking at all parts of the store, even their guys section, since you have no idea what you'll find; borderline racist t-shirt slogans, hideously 'ironic' sweater stripes on pants, you name it.

This location is far more touristy than their store on Queen St, but this location seems to have a far greater selection and better hours.

These days I prefer to buy online because of their $10 flat rate shipping price on everything under $150. Plus, it gives me more time to spend sipping mocha in my couch.

I have a terrible addiction to this store. I probably drop at least $350 a week on clothing, nick nacks and crap for my apartment in here. And I mostly buy sale stuff.

Actually I dont reccomend buying the non sale stuff as most of it ends up on the sale rack in a month anyway. As someone who goes to UO at least 3x a week I am certain of this. That being said their stuff is amazing. You can get vinyl here for $4.99-$9.99 new on sale. You really need the patience for it but if you are a die hard like I am you can get really great stuff by going here often. This specific location is by far my favorite because their selection is far greater than the queen street store.

Yeah so hipsters shop here and work here, no biggie. I'd rather look at them than gina (insert garden tool name here) bags from Urban Behaviour.

Also amazing are the books. Basically do yourself a favor and spend 2 hours going through everything in the sale section and then tell me you cant afford their stuff. Trust me... you can if you have the patience.

Urban Outfitters seems to be one of those place that people pretend to hate but then magically those same people are seen wearing their clothes. How does this happen?

As for me, I think they're clothes are crazy expensive, no matter how skinny the designers pants were that "created" them......but I DO like the clothes. I just don't buy them because moths are not accepted currency in our country.

I do however most enjoy their selection of unorthodox books. Like a book called Penis Pokey where you can put your penis in a hole in the book and hilarity will ensue.

    Yes.

Would not shop here unless absolutely have to. UO has some nice stuff, but the full price is just ridiculous. Your best bet is to order from online and ship it across the border. Even with the shipping fees and occasional sales tax (sometimes I get it sometimes I don't, for whatever reason), it's still cheaper than ordering in store. The online selection always has sales on as well. If the size doesn't fit, you can go to an actual store and exchange/return it (at no extra cost).

Urban has grown from a cool kids clothing store, to a cool kids everything store.  They still sell lots of clothing, (some of which I'm down with, and others that make me feel old and no longer with it) and they do a good job on constantly updating their styles.  The prices on the clothing ranges from average to a bit pricey (not including sales) but I find that the quality here is very reliable.

In addition to clothing and accessories, they also sell books, novelty toys, shoes and they even have a sizable houseware department.  The staff here is excellent.  Everyone I've ever interacted with is friendly and helpful.

Urban Outfitters used to be tucked away neatly in my memories, somewhere between the taste of McDonald's French fries and Thursday nights on St. Laurent. In other words, my university days in Montreal.

Re-visited it the other day in Toronto. It's still tragically hip and haunted by cool little froshies in their ironic tees. Despite the fact that it's almost unbearably cool (how many times have I used that word now?), it's still a fun place to visit when in search of a fun little ways to update your wardrobe or to pick up presents.

I went to an Urban Outfitters in London, who knew they were international.  I love this store, just going in and trying on stuff.. Too bad it's so badly overpriced.  Whenever I go in I get a hippy vibe, like an alternative, vintage store.  This location recently went through a renovation. I went in while the store was still being renovated, I haven't been in there since.

It's a pretty large store. They have a clearance section in the back of the store, on the first level.  They sell mainly women's clothing, or at least that's the main things I shop for while I'm there (i'm pretty sure they have some men's clothing).

The section I like the best is the little gifts section. They have everything from  books, gag gifts, little trickets and such. I'll have to visit this store again, maybe sometime today. I'll be updating my review later!

Urban Outfitters is a fun store to peruse to get ideas but with the exception of some sale items, most everything here (or at least the men's clothing and furniture) is over priced. Add in lines at the cash and trying to get a fitting room can eat up too much of your valuable Saturday, Urban Outfitters does just about everything possible to make your shopping experience unpleasant.

Whenever my self esteem is edging upwards I feel the need to go to Urban Outfitters to be shamed back down.  If Urban Outfitters was half as cool as it thought it was it would literally implode in on itself.  Urban Outfitters is the place that new froshies straight from the burbs go to dress to pretend that their parents don't pay their credit card bills.  The problem with Urban Outfitters is that some of the stuff they do have is genuinely cool (just not as cool as they think), of course these things are far too cool for my wallet.  I have an affinity for t-shirts and I will give it to Urban Outfitters they have some really cool t-shirts, but unless they are on a sale rack (which I've never seen, maybe a sale isn't ironic enough) are in the $45-60 range and that isn't cool.  They have nick-knacks galore and almost revel in the feel that they have things like Jesus figurines and books about poop.  I hesitate to do this but I would recommend Urban Outfitters if only to experience a piece of hipster life, they do have neat things and it's a pretty good place to find presents that you know your friends wont have.
