If you actually want to see the real Montreal, be right on the Plateau and next to Mount Royal than this is the place to stay. It's a short term rental apartment owned by a really nice lady who keeps the place spotless and nicely decorated. You can rent out the entire place or just a room (with shared bathrooms and kitchen/common area) - it's mad cheep and WAY nicer than any hostel in the city. Carolyn, the lady who runs it, lives upstairs so she tries to make sure no crazy partying kids stay there and as an added bonus she plays lovely classical piano in the afternoons and you can hear it in the common areas. Two thumbs up and 5 stars! I felt like I was living in Montreal again *sigh*

I stayed in the Buddha room for 10 days and it was a perfect location. The room was incredibly comfortable and I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in Montreal in an ideal location. I was traveling alone and my other 2 flatmates were in the same boat. We had a great time together and it was great to meet new people. I will be staying here again on my next trip to Montreal.
