I won't give this place 5 stars, simply because there are better burgers in town. No doubt about that. However, those better burgers are also twice the price.

For the relatively high quality of burgers you do get for the price, this place is a winner. Not really a sit-down-and-enjoy-the-cute-decor kind of place, but definitely a place to stop by for some pre-English Bay lazy beach afternoon takeout.

    I liked it. Yum!

Urban Burger is a decent value, but the burger I had was really, really bland. A little hit of seasoning salt on the patty would have upped the flavour big time, but still wouldn't make it a burger worth eating again. Among my other complaints: my lettuce wasn't very fresh and the bun-to-burger ratio was way off.

I don't think I'll return here or to the burger rival across the street with the weird permeating fake-smoke taste, to be honest. Better off burning a few more calories and walking down to the A&W on Robson!

about to be GONZO; owner says he's closing up shop in a few weeks, and guess who will take over...

    Fatburger!

guess they want to take Vera's across the street head on!

Urban Burger is my new favourite burger joint in the West End.  They offer very tasty burgers for a reasonable price.

I had the Urban Burger combo which includes a burger fries and drink for $5.99.  The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo, and sauce (not sure what kind of sauce).  You have the option to add the following toppings for free: fried onions, pickles, ketchup, BBQ sauce, mustard, red relish, and hot sauce.  You can also add cheddar, swiss, bacon, or mushrooms for $1.00 each or $1.50 for two.  I opted to add cheddar and bacon to my burger.  (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...)

The burger was made to order and ready within 10 minutes of ordering.  Not bad considering there was only one person working behind the counter at the time.

The burger was nice and juicy and the fries were fresh and crispy.  The bacon had added a yummy smoky flavour to the burger.  The patty was a little thinner than I would have liked, but for the price you can't complain.  If you have a larger appetite, you may want to consider the Double Urban Burger (which has two patties).

I highly recommend that you check this place out instead of Vera's the next time you're in the West End craving a burger.

Are you ready for this?   Frozen veggie burger was put in a deep fryer.
This is the WORST veggie burger I've ever had.  No wonder place was empty. $7 removed from my pocket!  Verry few toppings offered here for the price.

Great burger, fries, and onion rings couple with very reasonable prices and a cool retro diner feel.

    What's not to love?

I'd pass by Vera's any time to get here. The burger is more like those from moderne burger a few years ago than veras. Tastefully assembled, well balanced, and delicious. Great bun, with a cute monogram stamped into it.

the basic combo is currently $5.99 with add-ons for $1 each such as cheese (swiss or cheddar) and mushrooms, so coming in under $10 is easy to do.

They don't have gravy, which saddens me, but not enough to drop a star, but they happily supply mayo for dipping if you ask.

Cold weather brings out the caveman in me.  I guess it is my natural instinct to get ready for hibernation.  I would have clubbed a cavewoman and dragged her back to my cave, but I restrained myself and instead decided to get some meat.

I was happy to see that Urban Burger has opened its doors on Davie Street just a short hop skip and a jump from Vera's Burger Shack.  Some competition is always a good thing.  The caveman in me was thinking, "Umba bunga, fight good.  Me like.  Maybe decent burger now on Davie."  Ok, that sounds like tarzan, but you get the drift.

Had the cheddar burger with fries.  Unfortunately the fries and the roll were the highlight of the experience.  The fries are fresh cut, and crispy the way I like them.  The roll had nice crunch to it.  The burger itself was flavourful - but also one of the extra thin varieties that just doesn't satisfy the caveman instinctual urges.  Sigh....

Side note:  The owner (co-owner perhaps?) is the owner of the Nat's Pizza franchise on Denman.  Do I sense pizza burgers coming in the future?

Caveman sidenote:  Meat instincts better satisfied not too far away at Marmalade (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...).  Their Persian spiced burgers so far are winning the heart of cavemen downtown.  But the heart is open to another to steal it away with an amazing THICK burger.  Pretty please?  I'll even stop speaking like a caveman!

I went for the chicken burger and was *absolutely* satisfied. Maybe this is more a place for cavewomen than cavemen -- Mark D;).  There was ample white meat, lots of fresh lettuce, tomato and red onion, oozy mayo and the bun was crisp with the UB sizzled into the top. A nice touch.

Fries were crunchy, the place was clean and the service was perky and quick.

Our only request: Please, Urban Burger, put one-sided glass on your front window. Then when we sit in the window we can watch passers-by instead of having them jealously stare in at our faces dripping with mayo.

Let's get serious. No more messing around. It's time to talk burgers.

Just the look of this place told me they had great burgers. Then one day I'm walking by and I noticed one of the owners of Nat's is there. Well, if he owns the place you know its good.

So one day I finally remember to swing by. Let's face it, when I need meat, thanks to my proximity to so many restaurants, it's hard for me to go the 5 blocks. I made it that day though and I will continue to make it forever more!

As with most places who do things well, they don't do many things. You get two burger options and then you can add your toppings. The first time it was a bacon burger with swiss cheese and fries. Sounds good? That's because it is.

Having been a long time fan of Nat's I expected a lot. And oh did I get a lot. The meat was delicious, like they stole the coolest cows from Alberta or Abbotsford, or one of those A places and saved it for Urban Burger. Giant thin burgers cooked to perfection with quality ingredients. The buns are fresh and soft and branded with the UB logo. The fries are crispy and they must be covered in some illegal substance because you can't stop eating them no matter what.

Good news! They also have milkshakes. Oh yum...Everything here is classic food done well. There isn't much seating but there is window seating which lets you people watch with your scrumptious burger. Giving you tons of entertainment with your dinner.

And considering a basic Urban Burger combo is only $5.99 right now, its a great place to take a first date, as long as they like beef that is...

I love a great burger, and Urban Burger did not disappoint, the portions are a perfect size and the burger itself is not greasy at all.
The service is great and as I have slowly become a regular they recognize me and my order as I walk in.
I have tried both the beef burger and the chicken, and the chicken burger is the best I have had in a very long time.

I am always looking for good burgers.  I found some at Urban Burger. What a great place!  The burgers are large and more of flatter rounder patty and I like that more than the fat and bulky pattys at Veras.

And this place is affordable ! Imagine that (cough veras). I got the special with cheese and it came with fries and a drink for less than 8 bucks.

    Fantastic.

Well done to Urban Burger on being the best choice in downtown Vancouver

I had the cheeseburger and fries, both of which were delicious

The burger was juicy and matched up very well to the bun

The fries deserve a 5/5, perfectly cooked.

If I were to make any criticisms, I would say that the burger should have been slightly less cooked, although it seems that in Canada it is impossible to get a medium cooked burger as you can in the US, so maybe we can't place all the blame on the owners for that

A slightly thinner bun and this place would deserve another half star
