Review from David L.
Considering that Freshslice pizza just opened around the block, we decided to give this place one last chance. We ordered a large chicken pizza, a large vegetarian pizza and a small supreme pizza. The chicken pizza with roasted garlic, red peppers, mushrooms, and red onions was actually good. There were decent sized chunks of chicken and the pizza as a whole was flavourful.
The veggie pizza with mushrooms, red onions, green peppers, black olives, and tomatoes was good. I like the fact the black olives weren't salty. Toppings were really light on this pizza. If they added more toppings I would really recommend the veggie pizza.
The small supreme pizza with "lean beef" which was actually ground beef was tasty, but I barely saw any beef at all. There were only a few specks with beef and one would need a magnifying glass to spot the meat. Luckily, this time, there was no charred beef. I don't think ground beef on a pizza is a good thing in the first place.
I am expecting even more improvements because of Freshslice pizza is a new competitor in the area. More competition usually means better quality pizza in the long run.2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

Review from Sara B.
Vancouver, BC
I live in the Marine Drive residence at UBC, and these flyers are constantly piled up around the door. Since it's midterm season, I figured I'd give this a try rather than make The Great Trek to Save-On.
I got the UBC Special B, which is two large pizzas with three toppings, coming to around $25 after taxes. One one, I got ground beef, feta and mushrooms and on the other I chose ham, pineapple and mushrooms. (A bit of a fungi theme I guess.) Delivery time was around 50min on a Monday night.
As the star rating says, the pizza was pretty "meh, I've experienced better". The crust was thin and floppy, but not in a crispy way, and the whole thing tasted a bit watery. I've definitely had better Pizza in Kits, but none that are willing to deliver to UBC. All in all, if you're in a pinch, this is a relatively good deal (I guess) but it's not overwhelming or anything. I'll probably just stick the rest of this in the freezer.
I should also add that the phone service was good and the delivery guy was super friendly. :) -

I've had pizza from here on a few occasions, especially in my day of on campus living. The pizza is pretty decent quality. It's no PieR^2.. and some of the toppings are a bit meager in size. But the flavour is pretty good. And the best part is that it's convenient and less expensive than Pie R^2 when you do want to order a bunch of pizzas for some function on campus.
