I'm not what you would call a religious person, but I am quite superstitious. For my entire life, my dad has had a little St. Christopher (patron saint of travelers) statuette in his vehicle. When i finally got my first car a few years ago, he bought one for me (can't buy one for yourself! - not in my superstitious mind, anyways). Before I flew for the very first time (huge fear of flying), I got a tiny St. C to put in my purse. I ALSO have one of those prayer cards with St. C. on the front and the motorist's prayer on the back for my wallet!

So, over the years, Universal Church Supplies is where I have gone to purchase all my St. Christopher related items. I got my husband one for his car and wallet as well. Like I said, I'm not religious and I don't attend church, but this is a pretty cool store. It seems like they have quite a large selection of books, as well as cards, movies, candles, statuettes, jewellery, journals, those priest robes and lots of little knick knacks. As the name suggests, they also seem to have a lot of actual church supplies - pamphlets and the like - but I couldn't tell you what these items are called. I even got a little book there today called Worry Therapy, which is more spiritual than of a specific religion. The store is large, bright and quiet, and the staff are calm and helpful. It's kind of interesting to look around this shop, religious or not.

Universal Church Supplies has a lot of religious goods for people in ministry, lay ministry, as well as gift-buyers for people who would welcome a present with a spiritual overtone.  Much of the books, cards, and supplies here are Catholic -- there is a huge selection of prayer books, Catholic Bibles, rosaries, Confirmation gifts and supplies, historical documents, and biographies of important Catholics.  However, there is also music, books, jewelry, and other items that would appeal to Protestants as well.  The staff is very helpful, and some items can be special ordered.  The store is quite large and perfect for browsing.  It has a quiet, reverent atmosphere.
