Uncle Otis carries a great quality line of clothes which are modern, urban and tasteful. The prices may seem high, but you get what you pay for and they decent sales once in a while.

The staff is especially friendly, down to earth, helpful and very knowledgable.
They give great opinion and advice, especially when it comes to fit. Also they will give washing and care instructions to each piece of clothing you purchase, which I though was thoughtful and shows the pride in their inventory.

They have a very nicely designed store and doesn't feel stuffy or pretentious as other stores in the area.

Some of the European lines do run rather large in sizing, but most of their staples like their jeans has sizes that will fit most.
I prefer to get my jeans and pants here over Over the Rainbow, which I don't particularily enjoy shopping there.

Great mens clothing store, sales guys are super down to earth and easy to talk to.

Clothing is contemporary but simple enough to fit into any man's wardrobe.

I.E. who the fuck has $180 to spend on a sweater.. that is on SALE?! let alone $250+ on a pair of 'special' levi jeans.

Not this guy. However I did buy a nice sweater today for $80.... that was on sale. So I took away something great. And they, they took away more from me. You won this time Uncle, but I'm watching you.

    *stink eye*

But really. If you want some limited nice dress shirts. sweaters. jeans. some fancy boot type things. and everything to be over $100. Then hit this place up.

The staff is nice, but boy are they those, well ima talk to you all nice and like, and then really try to make the sale. but NBD if you don't want to buy, but have i told you this is the last pair of jeans, and about 10 people have been in here asking about them, and did i mention they are the last pair, but you know if you don't think you want to buy them NBD.

Fuck. Why am I such a 'good' consumer. I will probably end up going back there, but only during sale time.
They have a sale right now. Today is January 25. Take note. 2010.

    Call me.

Real heads will recognize Otis has been around for quite awhile. The fact that the store still stands and goes strong is a testament to their ability to dress those in the know consistently well! From my foggy memory, Uncle Otis used to be the only place that consistently brought Stussy to Toronto since '93, later joined by Vice. Back then, their space was literally half the size of the shop today. There were only a handful of stores in the game - No.6, 2BlackGuys, Front Runner, and the Lounge. Sorry, I just miss the good ol' days.

Fast forward. Shop still carries the right brands. Always seem to be the first to break the labels that matter. I believe they were the first to drop Spruce.

Good clothes. Good peeps. Just what Toronto needs.

If you're a boy and you want to wear some hot casual rare finds, it ain't easy. Uncle Otis is tucked in the heart of ritzy Yorkville, but it's not as snobby as TNT or Over The Rainbow and they only carry men's line's like Stussy, Gravis Lacoste, Levi's Capital E, Redwing Shoes, Nixon and many more.

It's an expensive shirt, hat, shoe, travel bag heaven, but the staff are great, like exceptionally great and really informed on all the pieces in the store. It's hard to leave without buying something even if $150 a tee-shirt makes you choke on the thought.

The proprietor, Donnell, chooses the right pieces for the 20 to 40-year old guys who neither want to dress like they came out of a Banana Republic catalog or like kids right out of the skate park.  He curates his shops with an eye towards high quality clothes with discreet edge.  The shop is beautifully simple and lets the clothes speak for themselves.  Best men's casual clothing shop in Toronto.

In the past 12-months, I've picked up a Burton luggage, a Ben Sherman blazer, a Stussy hat and a Wings and Horns throw blanket.
