A lovely korean owned sushi restaurant that sits in the parking lot of the Kenaston big box stores across from the Walmart. It's a narrow two level restaurant colored in bright green and dark woods. The bottom floor is where the kitchen and sushi counter resides but most people dine upstairs to the small dining room.
They serve a delicious gyoza (5 pieces) that's pan fried perfectly with great flavour ($4.75). The miso soup is so-so but for $1 I guess it's not the worst. It could use some more tofu in there. The salmon sashimi for $12.25 is fatty and luscious.
One of my favourite roll is the tiger roll ($12.25) - tuna, avocado, spicy sauce, tempura wrapped up with slices of salmon sashimi laid on top and drizzled with a creamy house sauce. It's a rich roll full of flavours with a touch of spice. My other favourite roll is the Alaska roll ($4.95) with salmon, avocado, tempura, sesame, spicy sauce and mayo. It's the perfect roll with my favourite flavours.
The chopped scallop roll ($5.75) had the perfect amount of mayo as I find some places can overload on that part. The river eel roll has BBQ eel, cucumber, lettuce and sesame ($4.75) is a great roll is you love eel as the flavour really shines through. The teriyaki chicken roll is a bit too heavy on the teriyaki sauce but a decent alternative for those who don't want to eat raw fish.
The tempura yam roll ($4.75) tastes like what you think it would...like yams wrapped up in a roll. It's not my favourite veggie roll. The bakudon roll ($4.75) is tuna with spicy sauce roll with rice on the outside and tempura flakes sprinkled on top with drop of sriracha sauce on top. I'm not a fan of the tempura flakes on the outside as it makes for a messy roll, I prefer it wrapped within the roll.
All in all a great place with lots of rolls to choose from. The staff are really warm and friendly there. Take out can sometimes be a bit of a wait because they are so busy on the weekends.Listed in: Favourite Dinner Spots, Favourite Ethnic Restaurants
