I was curious with Hot Pot, why this resto is always full and line ups takes an hour or so. Aside from cheap and good, staff are friendly, no special treatment and such but the manager is really attentive and helping the waitresses. Too bad they're not fluent in English, they can potentially have caucasian in their resto which brings good business and diversity. Clean and fast service. I like it :)

U Good Hot Pot, makes U Feel Good!
Price: $18.95 for AYCE + broth pot $8.00 (split by group) + $1 for 2 pop cans + tax and gratuity = ~$26.00 a person [Cashonly Richmond]
Still not too shabby for AYCE beef, pork, lamb, mushrooms, seafood.. and much much more!
Their presentation is pretty :D They serve it high tea style tier to conserve space.
Ample of broth flavors to choose from. I went for their classic pork bone. It was delicious. Just the perfect amount of flavor and saltyness, that didn't keep me reaching for water. We had another super spicy broth on the table. I don't eat spicy; but from what my friends told me, its the perfect amout of spice (not too spicy), but they did start trickling sweat mid feast :P but they kept going at it!
TIP: Yes its a hotpot place.. but don't skimp out on their fried chicken wings. SO DELICIOUS! I ate 4 wings! yum!
Their balls selection, and tofu variety is great! Their fish cake looks like little fishes which is really cute. I brought Seattle friends here, and they loved it and was impressed!
Service was friendly, but just a tad bit slow. They only had 2 servers for the entire restaurant. It wasn't overly busy for an AYCE hotpot place... which I liked as well. Kinda would like to keep this hidden gem secret.. but sharing is caring. And I care! Good food like this should be shared! So here I am yelping :)
Keep up the good work! And keep making ME FEEL GOOD! -

Hot pot restaurant & Hong Kong style cafe in 1!
Dinner group of 8. Some wanted hot pot soups, some HK cafe cuisine. So we decided to have both!
Ample parking in the restaurant's plaza. We were seated immediately. Service was friendly & efficient all evening.
You can make your own hot pot or they will make "create your own" soups for you in the kitchen. In the "create your own" noodle soups you order soup base, ingredients, & type of noodle. We ordered 7 custom noodle soups. All were good.
From the HK style cafe menu we ordered curry rice which was delicious.
Easy parking, good service, varied menu selection, & good food...we will return. -

It was a frantic night. I was really craving hot pot, I was working all day, ate absolutely nothing, was getting grumpy, cranky, and I needed my fix. Rounded up three other friends and started heading towards Fatty Cow on Victoria. No tables for another hr and half they said when I got there. Drove all the way down to Richmond to Cattle hot pot. No tables til 9. It was not even 6 yet. =( Chubby lamb? No. Hot pot One? Reviews weren't so good.
Soooo finally someone suggest U good and four hungry people desperate for hot pot headed that way. I was fearful. Every hot pot restaurant in the city was packed. Why wasn't this one packed? Did it suck? Damn the subzero temperature that sends all the chinese people out for hot pot!!
Boy was I in for a pleasant surpise. Nice big clean place, spacious, and very friendly staff.
Got the extra spicy szechuan soup base and pork stomach soup. Both were super tasty and I didn't get the MSG waves after
Nice selection of meats, veggies and seafood. My favorite however was they had deep fried snacks! Deep fried squid, chicken wings and holy moly soya wrap! The soya wrap was a revelation. The crisp skin flakey on the outside and soft warm and melting on the inside. Picture a fresh croissant but it's a soya wrap! Only negative, my second piece of soya wrap was fried too long and was too crunchy all around AND boy was there alot of oil dripping from that thing!
Anyways, I was impressed, I was happy, and I left very satisfied. I hope they keep up the good work and not start slacking like every other asian restaurant! -

A friend of mine suggested we go for hotpot the other nite, and since i hadn't had any hotpot over the holidays, I...was...Craving! We were trying to figure out which place to go and then i remembered this place. I remember it being pretty good and reasonably priced, so since i was in the area, thought we'd check it out.
I was surprised to see that they had expanded, they have double the seating occupancy now, and the place looks nice and bright. That must be a good sign, and it was, We had the extra spicy szechuan soup, and on the other side we had the pork stomach soup. I just wanted szechuan. Like usual, it was a good experience, veggies were fresh, meat was delicious ( we had a selection of lamb slices, sirloin beef, and the special beef slices, which were a tender fattier cut of meat). We also had a good selection of tofu. Frozen, dried, puffed, you name it we ate it!
Service was good, attentive and punctual, although, they forgot some of the dishes that we ordered. Never fear, just order it again, because, after all, it is All You Can Eat!
I'm gonna add this place to one of my favourite hotpot places. -

Came down on one of the cold nights along with my other yelp buddies, we always want hot pot. But they were all busy apparently! Guess everyone else has the same idea. It took about half an hour before they were able to find one, apparently U Good had just completed renovations. As soon as we walked in we were a little put off that it was just dead. There was 1 table with customers. And this place is pretty large.
Good thing with being in a quiet place, you get the staff's full attention. And it was great, also a very spacious place I don't like cramped hot pot joint with small tables, because I guarantee our order won't fit on the table. This place is the only smart place that uses a tiered platter holder which helps a lot.
I always have the spicy soup, whatever kind being offered as long as its spicy, here it was the Szechuan. And it was perfecto!
We had tons of selection, as everyone loves many different things at an AYCE. The beef slices and lamb slices were fresh and chilled. All the veggies were fresh. Plus they had a lot of extra snacks that many other places didn't carry. I also like that they don't charge for the sauce ingredients, I hate that. I always go through at least 2 bowls of sauce made with everything, green onions, cilantro, hot peppers, soy sauce, peanut sauce and chili oil. I usually throw in a raw egg to mix, that's just .50cents.
Definitely out of all the hot pot joints in Richmond, this one is the current best for me. I like everything about it.
PRICE: Same as other hot pot AYCE's. But you get more choice and you don't have to pay for you sauce ingredients.
SERVICE: Excellent! Staff was very attentive, I hope they keep it up even when its busy. I know that can be difficult when its packed.
SUGGEST: If you're craving hot pot. Just go here. You won't have to worry about disappointments. I see no point of trying new hot pot places when this one's the best. I mean really, hot pots are the same everywhere, its just who has the fresher food and variety and U Good is good!Listed in: Me & My Hot Pots

Yes. the bigger, bolder place is, well, bigger and bolder and nice and clean.
Our hostess was as pretty as ever and the service was good. :) It's always nice to get a smile out of someone. It just makes the day better.
It wasn't terribly busy but the food was good. meat looked good and decent portions. Wish they had black fungus and Won ton. If they had that, I'd be here more often.
Can't wait for the next time I come here.
and pop is just 50 cents. Tsing Tao beer is available too! So is sake.
Oh, and they also take reservations. There are two numbers. I had one listed which is correct, but the other is also good too.Listed in: HOT POTS!!!

Always thought that this was a hot pot place but recently discovered that it's also a HK style cafe.
They have a all day menu consisting of your usual HK style cafe dishes, it comes with a drink (iced or hot). Prices are all under $10.
I had a curry fish with rice. Curry was good, fish was fresh, but rice was lukewarm. Got an iced milk tea which was surprisingly good. Tea flavour was strong, and they use the real evaporated milk, none of the powered stuff. One free refill also given.
For the month of April, they are also doing a special where you get an additional 30% off Tuesday-Friday, and an additional 20% off Saturday and Sunday.
My dish came to $8 with tax & tip. -

I was born loving hot pot. I can eat them 3 times a week and almost all the time, i won't even get bore of hot pot. I took my friends here and they love this place. The wait time wasn't that long even though it was a busy night. The environment isn't as relaxing as before because they had expanded the place. I still enjoy their hot pot, but wish the place isn't so bright. Make you feel uncomfortable to grub, that all eyes are watching you.
