I am still craving their Beef Bourguignon. All the time. No, like, all the time.

I went on a day when it wasn't very crowded--I'm not sure if it usually is. We sat at the bar, had some cool, neat drinks, and then were seated. Everything that we got was amazing. Like I mentioned, the Beef Bourguignon is to die for. It was a cool wintery day outside, and the dish was warm, falvorful...just basically the best thing in the world. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the flavor of the wine was so delicate and not overpowering at all in the dish. I can't stress how much I miss those 30 minutes of heaven.

The decor is super cool. The menu has a..well, a twisted fork on it (how they did that, I don't know). It's slightly dim-lit with a very home-y comfortable atmosphere. Service was fine, and we felt comfortable ordering whatever. No pressure, no judgment.

It's super pricey yes, but it's SO amazing. Please go. I didn't have the room for dessert at all, but if you do, please. For me.

Had an amazing brunch here!  But, I'm not the only one who eats brunch at Twisted Fork ... it gets freakin' busy!  We arrived 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line of probably 20 people.

When the restaurant opened, we were all led in and promptly seated.  Within 5 minutes, every table was taken and the line outside started to form again.

I had the brie frittata which was incredible - the corn salsa was the right amount of acidity for the rich egg dish.  I also sampled the tower of french toast my partner ordered -- also good!

French press coffee -- great!.  Price is surprisingly low -- around $12 per dish.  The quality of food is high, not a greasy spoon.  Will be back soon!

I love the fact that this super cute bistro is nestled right in the thick of Granville Street, shoulder to shoulder with some of the grungy-est and douchey-est establishments in all of Vancouver.

The vibe is warm, inviting and unpretentiously charming; the food is classic, simple and undeniably yummy. I came here with my cousin last night for a long-overdue girly dinner and this place fit the bill.

We originally intended to do the 3 course Blue Fence Special, but after learning it was mussel night ($9 for a pound with frites), we decided to order a bunch of smaller plates and share tapas-style. We ordered the mussels (the kitchen was kind enough to make ours in a cream-free broth for me), roasted beet salad, snails, scallops and duck rillettes.

The only dish that didn't hit the mark for me was the mussels, sadly...the broth was beautiful and the frites were great, and although the mussels were fresh-tasting and definitely not fishy, they were shriveled and a little bit rubbery - definitely a tad over-cooked. Oh well, not everyone can do it as well as Carthage Café, right?

Everything else was amazing and the portions were surprisingly large: lovely fresh beet salad with arugula and pears, the escargot were done in a garlicky tomato sauce with mushrooms rather than butter-drenched in a traditional persil and the dish was lovely and bright, the scallops were indulgently loaded with bacon, sweet carmelized onions and corn (perhaps my favourite dish) and the duck rillettes was a masterpiece - lovely duck pate surrounded by cornichons, pickled brussel sprouts, mustard, arugula, tomatoes and toasted bread.

We washed it all down with a nice Pentage red that was recommended by the server, and almost had to roll ourselves out of there.

Highly recommended if you're looking for cozy, affordable French food in the downtown core.

4 stars, maybe as low as 3.5 just because of the wait.

I had baked eggs and the Gruyere was a bit much maybe. The hash browns were tasteless, but were a cool looking garnish. The baked bean were surprisingly tasty, as was the bacon.

My lady ordered the eggs benny and was a little disappointed. The sausage was dry, and she just didn't like the flavor.

The bloody mary's looked pretty great, but I wasn't in that kind of mood.

You might wonder why it gets rated a 4 if I'm complaining so much, and I think the baked beans save it from being a 3 star. The food overall wasn't bad, but I would bet there are much better places you could go instead of standing outside for 45 minutes waiting for your table.

I've been to Twisted Fork several times, for dinner, a cheese plate and wine with friends as well as their infamous brunch. I have to say, it's always a hit! They claim to have one of the best cheese plates in Vancouver - not sure if I can fully back that up being a huge fan of Salt in Gastown - however - they definitely compete(especially with value). Highly recommend the brioche eggs benny or stuffed (brioche) french toast for breakfast but arrive early! This place is lined up by 10:00am (they open at 10am). Dinner: The mussels are also fantastic, very rich but delicious. I love the feeling of the small intimate setting - like we've discovered something special...I think words gotten out as this place is always busy! Definitely worth a visit. The staff are great and I recommend buying some of their jam - yummmm.

Excellent, excellent, eggcelent! We went out to enjoy breakfast late in the morning around 10:30am and arrive at a bustling Twisted Fork with open bar seats. We were immediately seated and ordered the french press coffee, which provided the perfect cup of hot coffee. Lots of flavor and depth, and without a lot of acidity.

We ordered the french toast and the egg frittata and ended up having a perfect combination of sweet and savory. You get 3 giant pieces of french toast made with brioche bread also house made, with their house made whipped cream, and all with bananas stuffed into the bread. It also comes with slices of green apple and after having the fluffy pillow pieces of bread, rich whipped cream, sweet syrup, and mashed up banana it slices right through those flavors to clean your taste buds.

The fritatta was a giant slab of egg mixed with tomatoes, cheese, and a bed of green veggies with a very light sauce. There wasn't much cheese in my dish which ended up working well, yes cheese is an awesome food but sometimes it can overwhelm your dish and eliminate all the surrounding flavors, in this case the use of cheese was in the right ratio. Also the greens had natural flavors, one leafy green which I can't remember the name for, had hints of spicy, citrusy, and peppery notes.

This place is a home run!

It's New Year's Day , my husband and I like to go for brunch with several of our friends.  I had booked marked Twisted Fork, wanted to try it for sometime now.

We expected a wait and when we got there, the wait was an hour.  We walked around and came back after 30 mins and got a table so it wasn't bad for NYDAY.

Reading the reviews the French Tst came highly recommended, I ordered the banana stuffed brioche French tst.  It was delish!! came with warm maple syrup, whip cream and fruit.
My husband ordered Chorizo Eggs Benny, I hate to admit it to him, his food was AMAZING! The eggs was perfectly poached sausage was spicy but not over powering.  The use of brioche bread instead of  English muffin was great. It came with baked beans and  potatoes which must have been delish beacuse I didn't get a chance to try it )=

Service was great, Atmosphere was casual feel to it which I love.
for a brunch that cost 12.50 each it was worth it. and will come back!

Delicious brunch, but arrive a little before they open to ensure you get a table! For families: no booster seats, but large booths, and the chef chopped up a plate of fruit for our toddler without us even asking!

    Delicious!

I came up to Vancouver w/ one of my friends from school.  I found this place through Yelp and am so glad I did!

Per Yelp! recommendations, we had the asiago scone (so good!) and my friend had the eggs benny, while I had the... I forgot what I had actually.  I jsut remember it being delicious!

Just a warning, the servings here are huge!  Make sure to get there before they open, as a line does form outside the door.

I would have given this place a perfect 5/5 because the service, food, price was actually all amazing!

The only reason it's a four... is because I ordered some sort of appetizer that didn't sit well with my stomach. Must have been the oils and the cheese - had the chorizo salad... man that is one rich salad. If you are semi-lactose intol, I would stay away...

but because the server recommended that, I ordered. I wish now that I tried the mains instead but I was warned that the portions were big and I wanted to try a bit of everything.

The mussels and frites as everyone had said, were truly delicious!! And the bread was good too - although it could have been served warm.

Anyway, I would totally hit up this place again. I love french food and this was a great choice!

DEEEELISH.  The duck was unreal, although i'd never had duck so what the heck do I know about it really i suppose...  still it was so delish and our waitress was very sweet, i liked her accent too felt like I coulda been in france.  My dates chicken was also good, but everyone seemed to be enveous of my duck.  I also tried to go for brunch hearing so many good things but wiated an hour before we finally gave up..  It kinda made me angry, but good restaurants downtown are something u generally have to line up for. (i dispise waiting if at all avoidable).  Heres an idea dont let anyone into twisted fork unless they live dowtown or get more seating or another location...it is that good.

Breakie menu is mind blowing. Had the eggs benny with chicken sausage and roasted tomato and it was divine. If a wheel barrel could fit in the narrow hallway i think I would have used it to wheel myself out.

Would be a 5 star but the wait is a bit insane and it's really hot at the tables right in front of the kitchen.

Big fan and will always come back.

Stop reading this and go to Twisted Fork right now!

    Brunch:

Make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before they open so as to avoid a wait (there are only about ten or twelve tables inside).  Once inside, the tough task will be to select only one thing to order off the brunch menu.

I ordered the fruit salad with the asiago scones.  The fruit salad was typical, but the vanilla yogurt was a nice touch.  The scones, on the other hand, were out of this world.  They were quite possibly (and surprisingly) one of the best things I had ever had the pleasure of eating.  My friend ordered the baked eggs and gruyere and basically licked her plate clean. Mr. T ordered the eggs benny, which I sampled, and kept sampling.  Avocado as the filler was really good, and the ingredients were well-balanced, incredibly fresh and just perfect!  Also, they offered interesting/atypical brunch cocktails.

    Dinner:

We had such an amazing brunch experience that we decided to come back for dinner the next night.  Although we had a great dining experience (again), I have to say that brunch was a tad better. So if confronted with the option of either/or, I recommend coming for brunch instead.

We decided to order smaller plates and share everything.  The frites were OK - pass it up.  Mushroom puff pastry was divine - flaky and gooey and interesting all around (cognac and chipotle?!?).  Smoked tomatoe tart was good, but there was something off about it.  I liked the carmelized onions, but there may have been so much that the rest of the dish didn't stand a chance.  Beet salad - amazing!

Dessert: caramel napolean - sad to say, but this was the one disappointment for me.  I think it may have been due to the fact that I expected a traditional napolean with a caramel twist, but this one was deconstructed, and flavors didn't really gel well either.  (http://www.yelp.com/us...)  The berry semifreddo, on the other hand, was the perfect palate cleanser - sweet but light and airy, with just the right amount of tart blueberry.  (http://www.yelp.com/us...)

I highly recommend Twisted Fork, and will gladly return when in Vancouver again.

Arrived just before 6;30 on a weekday to enjoy their 3 course special.  What you get is a choice of selected items from their menu.  There are choices amongst the large and small fork plates.

My wife had the onion tart for starters.  It was nicely caramelized. For main course she had the lamb shank.  It was a big bone with a lot of tender meat.  I had the halibut.  It was nice and flaky.

They have a nice pairing of wines for the dinners.

A lot of tables around us in this long narrow restaurant were enjoying the mussels which looked really good.  Next time I'll have to try them.

A 3 course meal for $29 in downtown Vancouver is pretty affordable especially when you are getting big plates of (good) food. I was at The Twist Fork for a small gathering with my two girlfriends and we were all very happy with the food and service.

$29 for a 3 course meal is a daily (Monday to Thursday I think) promotion and is only available between 5:30pm to 6:30pm. The items with a black dot beside them are the only choices you can have as a part of the promotion. We ordered 3 appetizers: beet salad, escargots, and a salmon rillettes served with crostini. The beat salad was good but the smell of goat cheese was a little on the strong side. The escargots were done with butter and sautéed onions, which were good as well. The escargots were plentiful on a pool of tomato puree. The puree was excellent! Very fresh. I am not a big fan of fish but I must say the salmon rillettes was pretty darn good. It was a little on the dense side nonetheless it was smooth and was excellent as a snack.

My girlfriends both had the sable fish. I was eyeing on getting the fish too but thought we needed variety so I volunteered to order the beef bourguignon. The sable fish dish was definitely 5/5. The fish was seared to golden color on the exterior. The interior of the fish was very tender. The fish was served on a hill of mashed potatoes with I think were cubed and poached pears, roasted shallots, and greens (carrots and green beans). The presentation was beautiful. My beef bourguignon was on the "beefy" side. The two girls found the beef smell too empowering, which I agreed, but wasn't a nuisance to me as I found it quite tasty. The bread came in balls and were cute. They were warm and delicious to nibble on. I almost over dosed on the whipped butter served in a shot glass. Let's just say we had so much food to the point we barely touched the bourguignon and barely finished the two fish dishes. *We were saving room for desserts of course.

Amongst the three of us we shared a lavender creme brulee, a chocolate terrine, and a coffee cake. I couldn't taste the lavender, instead I tasted sage?? Sage? Sage? It wasn't bad, but different for sure. The chocolate terrine was superb! That was definitely my favorite. The dark chocolate cheese-cake looking wedges were smooth and went beautifully with the raspberry sorbet. I wasn't too sure about the coffee cake as it was dry and very sweet.

I had an excellent girls night out here at the Twisted Fork. Despite the little imperfections I'd still return regardless.

Our server, Fiona, was helpful and courteous.

    4* for Brunch!

Be prepared for one helluva wait on weekends - they always tell me 20-30 minutes, when in reality it's always closer to an hour.

I'm an Eggs Benny girl, I get mine with smoked salmon and avocado and it hits the spot every time. The Croque Monsieur is a gooey, hammy, delicious mess. Gruyere Baked Eggs? So fricken good.

Banana Stuffed Brioche French Toast - have had it twice and really don't get the fanfare. It's tasty, and looks hella good on the plate...but wasn't as epic tasting as it looks or sounds.

The space is cramped, so it does get hot inside and be prepared to overhear your neighbors conversation (and vice versa). During busy hours, the service isn't bad, but it's not good either.

Will have to come back to try some of their evening fare!

Brunch here was pretty amazing!  Came in after looking at the menu most of our party of 8 decided on the smoked salmon bennys.  The dishes came with a generous serving of smoked salmon with some perfectly done poached eggs...just the right amount of runny and bright orange yolks!

I didn't have a mimosa but my friends who did said they were just "okay."  Also they were $8, a little steep for mid-morning tippling.

The dinner menu on the website looked good too; will definitely have to be back to try it :)

The service was great. I had the seared Ahi tuna salad, which was delicious with the Cabernet Sauvignon. However, the dressing was too subtle, could have used a touch more flavor. I was served a fresh-out-of-the-oven roll with whipped butter. It was hard to eat just one. For dessert, the basil-infused crême brûlée was out of this world! Delicious.

I came back later and had an even more exemplary experience. Thisa is a top restaurant in Vancouver

Hour long wait for a table for brunch (which eventually turned out to be linner)...and another 30 min wait for food, which made for a ravenously hungry me. But it was so worth the wait. Lots of people and long waits usually means great food, no? Absolutely!

I've heard a little here and there about this little French restaurant and a friend had mentioned that she tried to get a table at one time, but didn't want to wait an hour long. Well this time we decided to prolong our hunger and save some room for the delicious meal. Granted, even though the wait was long, they do give a very honest account of the wait times and also that there are only two chefs on site, so don't go expecting food on your table within 20 min of being seated.

For my late lunch I had the Eggs Benny with Prosciutto. It came with a toasted brioche bun, two poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, prosciutto, a little cup of beans, spinach and a hash brown. It was delicious! Simple, tasty and rich food that satisfies and makes one happy i.e. French food. My friend had ordered the brie frittata which was just as satisfying.

When I first walked into this restaurant, the first thing that struck me was the aroma of smoked salmon. It wasn't over powering or obscene in any way, it was homely. I kind of regret not trying the smoked salmon dish on my first visit here, but there is always next time! Just gotta figure out how to beat the big brunch crowd.

I love vacation. Vacation means sipping a complex cocktail with raspberry puree and fresh lime at 11:30 a.m. on a Friday. It means eating a huge brunch on a weekday without fear of collapsing into my keyboard.

By "huge brunch," I mean eggs benedict with smoked salmon on a tall, soft piece of brioche with a side of rosti (hillbilly translation: hashbrown patty), baked beans and sauteed spinach that sits in a crispy mound, not a soggy sewage heap.

The Twisted Fork further pushes you to the point of button-popping fullness with its lemon marmalade to accompany an enormous slab of sourdough toast. It is sold by the jar in back with other delicious preserves and pickled victuals. Jars so big it's twisted.

My friends and I came here twice over the course of one weekend trip to Vancouver. The repeated trips were partially because of proximity to the hotel, but primarily because we fell in love with the place.

We initially found this place as a brunch place. My friend had done some research and found this place and insisted that we go here. We got there pretty early (prior to opening), but there was already a line forming outside. Once it opened, we managed to get seated but FYI this place is pretty small. The wait would totally be worth it though. Service was wonderful- wait staff were friendly (though in my experience everyone in Canada is extremely friendly) and very helpful. I love the decor of this place- very warm, inviting, wood-sy, cozy. The kitchen is semi-open and I loved looking at all the gourmet cooking contraptions.

I ordered the Gruyere baked eggs with sourdough toast, bacon, rosti, tomato and baked beans.  I see from the reviews below that my friend has reviewed this place also, albeit in a more timely manner, and can confirm that I did indeed basically lick the plate clean. The dish inspires me to start working on my own baked eggs recipe, mainly because I can't go to Twisted Fork all the time. The sourdough toast was a delight and a surprise because I generally don't like sourdough, but it wasn't very...sourdoughy? The bread actually had a hint of sweetness to it. Bacon never needs to be commented on- it is always amazing so long as it is cooked right, which this was. I was pleased at the inclusion of rosti, as I'd not had rosti since going to Switzerland. If you don't know what rosti is, it's kinda like hashbrowns, but better and more gourmet. Admittedly, the rosti was a little bland though I liked the level of crispiness. The tomato and baked beans were also surprisingly delicious. I say surprising because of my ambivalence separately towards both tomato things in general and baked beans. The portions were ideal- not too big so that I'd be tempted to force myself to eat everything, and not too small so that I was satisfied. The meal left me perfectly full and content.

Unable to decide where to go for dinner the next night, we decided to return to Twisted Fork. Having spent the day eating my way across Granville Island, I was full and not wanting to spend too much money, so I agreed to share some small plates with my friends even though they are both vegetarians and that really is the last thing I am. Most memorable were the Sauteed Mushroom Salad, Gruyere and Carmelized Onion Tart, the Blueberry Jam Semifreddo, and the lemonade that had maple syrup in it. Again, these are all things I want to try to recreate in my kitchen as I would be sad if I never tasted any of these dishes ever again. Which is rather remarkable considering I always gravitate toward meat dishes. I'm nowhere near as talented as the wonderful chefs at Twisted Fork, but it will be a temporary solution until I next make a trip up to Vancouver to get my Twisted Fork fix. The semifreddo was especially noteworthy.  We had no idea what it was when we ordered it, but now I'm on a warpath to find any variation of it in San Francisco or the nearby Bay Area. The menu description of it is frozen vanilla scented whipped cream marbled with blueberry jam, topped with berry compote and walnut drop cookies. Weird description (vanilla scented?!), but it was delightful. I think we basically licked this plate clean too.

This is a must-eat place in Vancouver. It is a little pricey, but I actually think the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food, drinks, and service.

Came here for an early weeknight dinner before tickets to a show at Venue.  After all of the delicious food and several glasses of wine, we didn't even end up making it to the concert - oops!

My friend (a veggie) and I both ordered the blue fence special and made our selections so that all could be shared.  First up was the roasted beet salad and the carmelized onion tart.  Both were delicious and had lovely combinations of flavours and textures.  Our seconds were both fish entrees and although they are not currently on the menu, they were both cooked perfectly and were well enjoyed.  For dessert we selected the chocolate terrine (SO RICH) and the seasonal creme brulee - as an afficionado of the latter I will say that theirs was light, delicious and definitely worthy.

All in all, this was a very nice meal in a small and cozy restaurant and I would say it was well worth the price paid.  I can't wait to try their brunch.

Maybe my expectations were too high after hearing all the rave reviews for brunch. We got up early on a Saturday morning so we could avoid the line up.

We started off with some French press coffee, and then contemplated on what we wanted to have. The French toast was one of the key items to try here, but we were both just not really feeling it.

I then got the bacon, caramelized onion and brie frittata filled with potato and fresh basil, served with fresh greens and sweet corn relish. This was such a large portion! It was so delicious, light fluffy eggs enveloping the goodness of the bacon. The brie layer at the top made it even better. I could only finish half of it though.

There was very minimal service throughout our whole meal, with us having to ask for more water and coffee. Food also took a bit longer than usual to arrive.

All in all, I would come again but would not wait in line for it. The atmosphere here is just better at night.

I've been here on several occasions since I last reviewed Twisted Fork and I can say that I absolutely love it.  I still always go for the brie and caramelized onion frittata because the flavours are vibrant.  I did try the banana stuffed french toast and decided it was not my scene.

The $8 mussels Tuesdays are hard to beat. I don't care how long I have to wait (not too long on a rainy day though). They're so good! The cocktails are pretty unique as well.  Where it's really at? The desserts. The desserts are some of the best in time. You can't go wrong with the Caramel Napoleon (I *heart* Caramel!).  But once I had a vanilla basil creme brulee and it was so awesome! I can't stop thinking about it. Too bad they only have a regular vanilla creme brulee on their menu now. The chocolate terrine is not too shabby either.

Twisted Fork, I *heart* you.  Will you be my Valentine?

Visited on Tuesday's twice for the muscles $9 for one pound and both times they have been great. The restaurant itself is small but cozy and the service is excellent.

The best dinner while visiting in Vancouver. Friendly wait staff with a great menu with an organic and local vibe. I had the cornish hen with a mushroom pastry for the appetizer that soaked my mouth joy. They also had some unique craft beers on tap and good wine selection. This place is not very wide and feels cramped. Despite the minor atmosphere setback this is a delicious solid choice.

Maybe I just had incredibly high hopes after hearing so many people hear how amazing this place was, but I wasn't blown away.

The food was good.  Nay, it was very good.  I loved how the brioche on my eggs benedict soaked up the hollandaise sauce and runny egg yolk to make a delectable crispy, sweet, gooey base for my generous helping of smoked salmon.  I also really enjoyed the baked beans that came along with it.

However, my friends and I lined up for an hour.  I'm glad I tried it, but I feel like the menu wasn't innovative enough to convince me to line up again.  I can get the same dishes at other places and they will probably be *almost* as tasty, and I won't have to spend half my morning in a line.  I was disappointed that the offerings were very typical brunch fare that you could find almost anywhere.  If I'm going to line up that long, it should at least be for something I couldn't get anywhere else.

I hate to be the Debbie Downer here but this place only deserves 3 stars.
For one - what breakfast place doesn't open until 10am? That doesn't make sense.

The line up starts at 9:30am - I know because I was there. Not because I knew that there would be a line up, but because I expected a breakfast joint to be open much earlier. We met another couple who was first in line and they said they were there that early because they tried two days in a row to get in the restaurant with no luck when showing up at 10am.

Coffee is already pre-poured into French presses which makes for nice, efficient coffee service for hungry patrons.  Selection of food is good too but none of it amazed me.  We ordered chorizo eggs benedict. cute presentation.

Good banana bread (my one year old devoured it) and fresh selection of fruits.

NOT kid friendly. it's cramped and they don't have high chairs.

    More like a solid 3.5

Do not come here on a hot/warm day. The place was tinnnyyyy, hot and uncomfortably stuffy. It took a lot of mental power to ignore the heat. The only ventilation and cool air was a tiny fan right at the entrance of the restaurant.

    we ordered:
Banana stuffed french toast - I was most excited about this item but it fell a little short on expectations. The edges of the french toasted were hard, crusty and burnt tasting. The centre parts were pretty good though, stuffed with bananas that became sweet and custardy.

Smoked Salmon Eggs Benny - Eggs were overdone and barely yolky. Generous portions of smoked salmon. Not bad overall.

Croque Monsieur - Pretty good cheesy ham sandwich. It was filled with delicious great quality thinly sliced ham. Bread was brioche that is buttered and grilled. Delicious.

Bacon, Caramelised Onion & Brie Frittata -  The flavours were so muddled and it almost did not feel like breakfast. I tasted mostly cheese, corn and potatoes.

Service was meh... i barely saw our server and could have done w more coffee at one point. She took forever to take our drink orders, and when she did - it took forever for us to get them. The menu has a little disclaimer mentioning that there are only 2 cooks in the kitchen so food might take a while - so I expected the wait. It was not too long, we got it in about 15 minutes?

Heard so much about the brunch that we had to go for Father's Day. Well, it did not disappoint and neither did the line to get in! We got there fifteen minutes before it opened and there was already a long line up.

Fortunately, we got a table. After that, you'd have to wait at least an hour. in fact, it took an hour before food arrived on our table. Seemed others got it quicker. Didn't entirely mind because it's a real pleasant atmosphere.
So, the food. We tried three items: Banana French Toast, Benny with ham and the Croque Monsieur. Huge portions and delicious. You have to like brioche because that's all they use. It was good, but my wife is not such a brioche fan. Still, she liked it.

The French toast was stuffed with banana and came with a blob of vanilla whipped cream and REAL maple syrup. Hurray! It was sublime. A Croque Monsieur usually comes with the egg on top, but this one was inside. On top is better, but this was still amazing with cheese oozing out (see the picture). The Benny was also great. Tons of ham.

Coffee was off the French Press variety, which I don't prefer, but it was still good and nice to have a big pot of it at the table to top up when you want. They also refill it for free.

Considering the crowd, service was delightful and charming, if a bit slow. Still, worth it. This place is fab!

    Solid 3 stars.

Long wait for brunch (which would be fine if the food was well worth it....but it wasn't)

Very close quarters, and the table we sat at was so small your plate was literally hanging halfway off the table.

Food was good, but not great.
Being a lover of eggs benedict, their version was nothing exciting (for $12).

Service was good, but not great.
I asked for extra jam with my banana bread, and it never came.

    = solid 3 stars.

Maybe I am missing something or am too picky but I was very unimpressed with the Banana Stuffed Brioche French Toast everyone raves about.  Took over 50 minutes to arrive after ordering and it was dry and fairly bland.  I love french toast and when I saw they used Brioche Bread and read the reviews, I was anxious to check it out.  Not sure if it was just a bad version of what is typically great, but it wasn't close to 'epic' as the waitress claimed.  It looked great on the plate but for me wasn't worth the hype and even gave one piece to my friend to finish (and not because I was full).  Could have just been overcooked.

My friends Asparagus Scrambled Eggs apparently was reasonably good.  I can't comment other than reiterating.

Service was friendly but a bit disconnected to reality.  When we asked if the food was coming after over 50 minutes she said "has it been awhile?".    Not "oh I will check for you" or something else that didn't question the validity of our question. In my opinion, breakfast/brunch on a Saturday morning should not take over 50 minutes to arrive after ordering especially after waiting in line. Based on other reviews here, it seems to be a common occurance.  40 to 50 mins to get a seat maybe but not to cook french toast that is apparently their specialty.  If the French Toast was as epic as the claims, I would have given them 4 out of 5 stars and wouldn't have cared about the wait.

My read is if you are not as picky about French Toast as I am and don't mind taking 1.5 to 2 hours to eat breakfast, check it out.  Otherwise, order something else or check out another place.  Their dinner menu looks appealing.  Will give it another shot and update the review after checking out dinner.

Thank you Twisted Fork. You saved a bland-food-night that was quickly going sour at another establishment. Lucky for me and a yelper's quick tip, I found out that there was no wait and we quickly changed our plans to include Twisted Fork.

Belly so-so full of yawn-food, I finally got a chance to appreciate the Caramel Napoleon for its true worth. And OMG - you did it! There was crunch, there was maple, there was mousse. There was heaven, with the exact right amount of sweet.

And a sixth star for having the most worn out "People Love Us On Yelp" decal I've ever seen on your door!

I feel a little late jumping on the Twisted Fork Brunch Bandwagon, but better late than never!

Despite our best efforts, my friends and I didn't manage to get to the restaurant right at opening in order to snag a table, so we had to wait just over half an hour for a prime table in the back of the restaurant. The wait, however, was definitely worth it.

The asiago scones with whipped butter were amazing, so soft and flaky. We devoured our side of scones in 10 seconds flat. I ordered the bacon, brie, and carmelized onion fritatta (yes, it was as delicious as it sounds), and my friends ordered the eggs benny and baked eggs. We also shared an order of banana stuffed french toast (were our eyes a lil bigger than our stomachs? Definitely).

The food was amazing, the service was so friendly, and the ambiance of the restaurant was so welcoming.

There is no slow period during their 10 am - 2:30 pm brunch hours, so be prepared to wait. And then be prepared for the best brunch you've ever tasted.

I thought I'd add my two cents to the chorus of excellent reviews of Twisted Fork.

First and most important question:  Is it worth the wait?

The answer is a resounding "Hellz yeah!"  Good food comes to those who wait (well, at least in this case it does.)

My friend and I went for brunch here for the first time and we were very pleased.  My friend tends to be picky about food and gets antsy when he's hungry.  So it was a relief when Twisted Fork met his approval.

For brunch, I ordered the coffee, asiago scones, and the bacon, caramelized onion, and brie frittata.  I'm not normally a coffee drinker, but I thought their coffee was outstanding.  I love how you get your own French coffee press to pour yourself.  I ordered the asiago scones based on Amy T.'s recommendation.  They were absolutely delicious (and not just because I'd been waiting outside for 40 minutes to eat).  They were savoury and delectable with butter.  The frittata was marvellous as well; you can't go wrong with bacon and brie.

Service was excellent as well.  Some other reviewers mentioned that the staff seems to genuinely care if everything is to your liking and that was my experience as well.

I plan to come back until I've tried everything on the brunch menu.  After that I'll know which my favourites are so that I can keep coming back for that!

Homemade jams, boooooyaaaaaaa...I love you banana jam! I think it has rum in it, or at least it tastes like it does!
I tried banana french toast, and it does not disappoint; the portion is huge though! I love it!
I also tried asiago scones and salmon with ORGANIC greens and hazelnuts (awesomeness!).
Also, I bought two jars of jam (banana and strawberry). They are $8 each. Now I am enjoying them with waffles for every breakfast!yay
Go fridays before noon since it is not that busy then.
You gotta try this place! Seriously, go there!
I love you french cuisine! Thank you for using butter:D

If Twisted Fork were a one night stand, I would call it back in the morning and leave several messages.

If KITT pulled up on Granville St, opened his doors and said "Garth let's go for a ride" and I was waiting in line for Twisted Fork, KITT would loose that decision 9 times out of 10.

If I got a lucrative offer from a Nigerian prince I would probably hear him out first then with all of my new found riches I would be off to Twisted Fork.

I've always heard that this place is the bee's knees when it comes to brunch but I've never made the effort to brave the trip down on a weekend. I just found out this place is open for brunch fridays, this is perfect as the office is only a few blocks away.

I ordered the banana stuffed french toast and at just over a 10 it's a steal! Where else can you get that much crack cocaine for that price? I say crack because how else could this bread and banana be so forking delicious? It was only a day later I already started showing French Toast withdraw symptoms.

I think the service was fantastic and I think everyone else at the table had a great brunch also, I couldn't tell you as I was so distracted by my brunch I was blind by everything else.

I love everything there is about brunch and Twisted Fork is hands down the BEST spot for brunch
