Review from Carlos J.
I heard this was a good blues bar, but there was no music tonight. I went for drinks and drinks...and hockey was on the entertainment menu.
Our waitress, whose name I didn't note (I paid cash & left the receipt) was wonderfully nice, very attentive, and perfectly efficient.
I had a burger. I was torn between the Buddy Guy Party Burger (I LOVE Buddy Guy!) and the Jack De Keyzer Burger. I opted for the latter because it was topped with peameal bacon, something I'd never tried. The burger was fabulous. The beef was perfectly medium, and there was just enough onion, peameal bacon, cheddar cheese, and thousand island dressing.
The hockey game was a bummer because Canada lost the IIHF Junior Championship. They scored three goals in the first two periods, but Russia came back and scored two goals in the first three minutes of the third period, and finished off our northern brothers with three more goals to win the gold, 5-3. An amazing comeback, but kind of a buzzkill for the crowd, including me.
When I come back to Ottawa, it'll be in the summer, and I'll be sure to combine business & pleasure, do a lot more sightseeing, and...visit Tucson's again. -

Ottawa, ON
If you like live Blues music, then you need to discover Tucson's. It is located on Bank and West Hunt Club Road - right on the corner. It is a respectable place with a great reputation in town for high calibre acts. And, they also pride themselves on their menu - very upscale. They have stir fries, sandwiches and gourmet burgers, gourmet pizza and pastas, seafood and steaks. It can be pricey - about $15 per entree, but it is worth it. I had the cannelloni and it is delish! Tucson's is an energetic kind of place, but not raucous. Definitely an adult vibe to it - a great place for a date. But, the music ain't just background music. You really need to pay attention to the show and show your appreciation. It is like a concert with great food!
