All time favourite for late-night cuisine in Vancouver. It's Canadian/Szechuan style but I am sure there are many dishes available not listed on the menu. I have never looked at the menu but just ramble off the items I want and the food shows up.

As mentioned in other reviews, this is a late-night hot spot with the after-club crew. Expect to be seated next to scenesters, gangsters and Nickleback. The main thing keeping this dining venue safe is that VPD are also eating at a nearby table. No violence/shoot-outs witnessed in my time here.

I would not recommend asking the wait staff questions about anything. Know what you want and order promptly. They are used to and expecting the late-night gong-show crowd. It is surprisingly well run considering the clientele.

I have also ordered delivery and the service is fast. Obviously not ordering during their peak times. There is a takeout window on the side, but I have not subscribed.

Bottom line: it's 2:00am on Friday night this is the place to go.

I was hungry late in the hotel. Did not want any of the sea of pizza places so I asked for recommendations from the front desk.
    "Anything not pizza?"
They mentioned this place so I got 2 bbq pork fried rices to go (min delivery is $15+ bucks or something). I finished one and picked on the 2nd - maybe more for breakfast.

It ain't fancypants, but decent enough.

I really like the food from here. It's nothing fancy but just good old Chinese food that I can rely on.

We just ordered a take out few days ago from Tsui Hang and they were delicious. We ordered Beef with Broccoli, Sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken, house chow mein (crispy noodle), large wonton soup and deep fried pork chop in their house sauce. The noodle was cripsy even when it got it to our house. I hate it when the noodle gets all soggy. (Only thing I didn't really like was the wonton soup. I love shrimp wonton and they were meat wonton).

My favourite is the Deep fried pork chop with house sauce. The sauce on it is soooo good. And for all this, the bill came to $56.00 and there were left overs for two extra meals.
Another good thing is, I wasn't chugging down water after the meal. (Usually, after consuming insane amount of MSG, I get super thirsty).

I might ask them to make it without MSG next time to see what that's like. All in all, if you are looking for a solid basic chinese food, this is it.

I was really teetering between 2 and 3 stars but they have a selection of shark fin soup on the menu and I don't like!

This was a late night drunken excursion when we were turned away at our local watering hole and were too lazy to stumble anywhere else.

We ordered up a small fortunes worth of food and "Special Tea" aka beer and the party continued.

The food was fast and tasty, the veggie chowmein is really greasy which is just what I need when I've got drunk hunger! Once food was served the service depleted VERY quickly from nice to "you have to leave cause people are waiting." Yes, we were actually told that! The stupid thing is we had been waiting 15 minutes for them to wrap up our leftovers and then we would happily pay our 3 digit bill (which SHOULD be enough to warrant not being asked to get out 15 minutes after your done eating!)

As for the atmosphere, I had to run out of the washroom because someone was violently vomiting, plastic on the tables, shark fin soup, ugly decor, suspicious activities happening in a back room, most of the guests looked like hookers with old rich men that think they are still "hip" and "withit" yet WE were being asked to leave...not really my scene!

The takeout window doesn't offer much, but it's something other than pizza to fill you up late at night downtown.
The food is super hot, but ultra simple... rice, meat, onions, few peppers, and sauce.
    Don't expect a gourmet meal.

    Opens late.. till 3am..

Came here around midnight on Saturday (beat the clubbing rush)  Had the beef chow fun (pan fried noodles) and it was good. Great late night snack- even though it was not busy, service sucked... Nice location on Granville, by all the bars.. and close to our hotel too.

Good late night chinese food.  Amazing after the bar & a good price point, but I wouldn't go here stone cold sober on a weeknight either.  Great for it's purpose.  You know the drill.

(For my fellow Calgarians, think of a cross between U&Me & Singapore Sam's.)

This place is the after-the-club hangout, eatery, get me out of this drunken state mode place at around 2:30 AM on a regular Friday, Saturday clubbing night. A former bank building (one of the VIP/private rooms is a safe), on the corner of Davie and Granville, you will never see this place truly busy at around 8:00 PM (normal dinner time), but when you've had a good time, and need to sober up after a truly late night, and you need Chinese food, you will stumble (walk) here, as it's just a "stone's throw away" from "clubbing" district.

On the menu, they carry everything that a regular Chinese restaurant has, from the seafood offerings, to the main side plates, this is a 'real' Chinese restaurant, and no smorgasbord of Canadian'ized Chinese food to trick people to thinking it is authentic, cause it is.  They even have the late night ('Da Lang Siu Yeh') menu with the plain watery congee. Do not be surprised if you bump into your liquored friends here, as most people know this place, and at times you might have to line up at the front door during the late nights as everybody seems to be having an urge for Chinese cuisine.

The staff are the ones who really deserves props in regards to dealing with the crowd. A restaurant filled with post-clubbers can sometimes be a tough situation, and the people who work here definately show some hustle.

If you just want some take-out food, one cool part is that they have a take-out window on the Davie Street side, just in case you just want to pick up your food and run with your bbq pork rice!

We were spending the weekend in Vancouver to have some fun on my girlfriend's birthday.  We stumbled upon the Tsui Hang after dancing up the road at a blues club.
We had the BEST wontons, rice and bone-in chicken hot pot. We had to go back a second time.  Everything we ate was exceptional. EXCEPTIONAL!
This reviewer will make a point to come back and eat at the Tsui Hang Village anytime he is in Vancouver.  Honestly, I may plan a trip to BC JUST to eat at this restaurant.
They are open 5pm - 3am seven days a week.
PS- the service is outstanding as well.  Nice job guys.  Thank you!

PPS - it cost two of us less than $25 after tax.  The prices are more than reasonable!

How do you like your chow mein? Soft? Hard?

Tsui Hang is a very popular post-club night eatery on the corner of Granville and Davie. My friends seem to really enjoy this place, but I have my reservations.

I must admit that it's fun sitting in a renovated bank and on some special occasions, being sat next to the giant bank vault door. However, the food is "meh" and in some cases, I wonder if a bunch of it is already pre-cooked because it comes out far too fast to be made fresh.

The staff generally makes up for the restaurants shortcomings by being polite and helpful. Even when it gets ridiculously busy around 2am, they seem to step up their game and try to be as accommodating as they can be.

I wish I could give this place a 0 star rating.

For starters, the quality of the food isn't fair for the price you pay. I'm usually very understanding with restaurants and their service/food, so you can take my word for it when I tell you this place is absolutely horrendous and I'm shocked that it still stands.

Secondly, the waiters including the floor manager was arrogant and very rude when confronted with our inquiry re one of their dishes. We had asked why the szechuan sauce was so bland and both the waiter and the manager scorned at the remark and insisted that was the way szechuan sauce is. Please. We have had real szechuan sauce before. And anyhow, as a staff, couldn't you be a little more level headed when it comes to your customers? We weren't rude when we asked you about it; why did you have to be so rude when answering? It was Mother's Day too. Very unpleasant way to celebrate as my mum had to sit through the arrogant service and below average food. Good thing we had a nice dessert waiting at home.

Overall, the experience was horrible and we were horribly overcharged for the less than mediocre quality of food. Needless to say, you won't find me in there ever again.

We live just over the road so we occasionally have takeaway from Tsui Hang Village.

My Boyfriend first went there late one night after a few drinks. He as per usual stocked up on Chinese so when I got home the following day there were plenty of left-overs. At that time I wasn't a fan of Chinese food.

A few months later I was starving and didn't feel like another meal from Fresh Slice. I decided I would try Chinese. I had the Lemon Chicken & Chicken Rice. These are now on my list of favourite meals!

Good for Take away. I haven't dined in so I can't review that experience but I have been told I could wait inside when I had made a rather large order. The servers were very sweet and offering me water & tea. They still brought me some tea even though I said I was fine!

    I found the prices average.

Will of course be going ordering from there again very soon and frequently from then on!

Look if you're looking for quality, gourmet Chinese food, this is probably not the place.  If you are looking for a sweet post-night clubbing place that has a  MASSIVE menu and chefs that are faster than a speeding bullet, then Tsui Hang is the place for you.

In fact I'm almost confident I have never been in the restaurant sober, but that aside I can tell you the food there isn't all that bad when you're super hungry and a bit tipsy.  Great for groups and any craving you may have for garlic prawns or ginger beef at 4AM, you can also order "special tea" which is basically code for beer in a tea glass.

Don't get too rowdy or you'll be politely asked to leave.

Lets just say that if you have been out all night drinking and hopping from bar to bar and ended up with raging appetite at 4am in the morning, then this is the place for you.
No the food is not fantastic and the service is as cold as their special tea, but really what did you expect at 4am in the morning. I would never go here at any other time but give me some deep fried crab, dumplings and a pot of special tea well after last call and I am a happy fellow.

I had heard before my trip that you couldn't really find a bad Chinese food restaurant in Vancouver... I guess I found the only one then.  When we arrived at our hotel, we were tired and hungry.  I asked one of the employees in the lobby for a recommendation and Tsui Hang Village is where he sent us.  When we entered the restaurant, I was pleased to see a few Asian peps eating there.  The decor was nice and clean.  There was an enormous chandelier in the middle of the room, linen tablecloths and napkins on the table... so far, so good.

We ordered the jumbo prawns with warm mustard sauce (they were fried prawns and far from jumbo); chefs special scallops and pea pods and the house chow mein.  The scallops were very, very small (size of a quarter) and the dish was tasteless.  The house chow mein was okay.  They make it with the crunchy noodles which is good.  The variety of meat on the noodles was good but the taste was just okay.  They had the right amount of sauce on the noodles but this food was just boring.  The cost was $45 and I must say, I've had better food from a steam table.

Pretty good, after boozing restaurant to eat at. Although they didn't have alot of what we were ordering the dishes they did have came out super fast and we were totally content with it.

The place looks like it use to be a bank that they gutted out. I felt like opening a CD while eating my clams with black bean sauce.

Went here on a recent visit to Vancouver on the suggestion of a local waitress. Only two tables occupied in their huge dining area. Should have taken the hint.
To be safe we tried to stick with standard dishes. Started with pot stickers, which were very doughy and tasteless.
Then cashew chicken which contained the usual array (celery, carrots, etc.) with tiny cubes of chicken and lots of cashews. Had no sauce and was also tasteless. Had to supplement it with soy sauce to get any flavor at all.
It got better with a mushroom and tofu clay pot. Flavorful sauce but the large mushroom caps were difficult to handle with their plastic chopsticks (and, living in San Francisco, I do know how to use chopsticks).
The tea was weak even after a long soak. The second pot was better after we asked them to add more tea leaves.
The free house dessert was some sort of warm, weak, slightly sweet, green bean soup. Not my cup of "tea" but one of my companions liked it.

Conclusion: great if you like tasteless Chinese on the expensive side. Find an Asian waitress if you want good advice ;-)

This is really 3.5 stars, for late night dining the food is tasty good after a late night. The service always comes through. The pricing is very reasonable..This is not a top end diner place but it has great selection of traditional cantonese chinese, in a funky gothic building that was a bank many many years ago. They also a  street side take out window, walk up and order, if you order the specials your wait time is less.. The crowd inside can be a bit sketchy at times, but also entertaining, sometimes worth the price of diner.

Yes, I understand this is a clubbing district -- but the food is still considered overpriced.  I came planning to spend that extra some money for good seafood -- on top of the overprice -- I see part of the seafood (crab to be exact) missing after the preparation (siphoned off for cooking something else?).  Wait till you see the bill -- then you'd find the line about server charge already added.  Then, on the final bill, you'd still see a line for tip -- I find this practice on the deceiving side for unsuspecting tipper not reading the charge-already-added line.

Not happy with the experience -- would avoid for the reasons above.
