For this diner to be around as long as it has, they must be doing something right; friendly service and great meals. Spacious and relaxing, and of course, the greek music entertainment is always a bonus.
Moussaka is always good. And so are the baby back ribs and steaks!
Mushroom appy is a must. -

I think this place has really gone down hill. I remember maybe 5 years ago having soulvaki from here and was good- tired to relive that and it did not happen.
We went on a weeknight- they were on groupon thought we would try something new. - wont be going back anytime soon
Ordered a greek salad to start, super oily and not even like a good olive oil, it coated your mouth. viniger was no where to be found and cuts on veg was really rough, super big and not enough variety, a lot of cucumber not enought tomato etc.
I wanted prawn and scallop soulvaki- and they didnt have any?? thought okay this is a sign i shouldnt have that many carbs. lol. so I asked for garlic prawns (appy) a piece of pita and tzitziki. Husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs.
That weird mouth coating oil showed up again. My prawns were actually swimming in it, no joke half of the dish was that oil. My husbands spagetti was coated in it to. I asked the server what it was and she asked the kitchen to advised it was butter. it was not butter, it was some cheap oil and it was disguisting!! I used paper napkins to trry to dry the prawns and used tzitziki to change the taste. Def less then satisfying.
Bill came and my tzitziki pita side was like $4. meh. The server was far from friendly or engaged. The restaurany was absolutly empty. There was 2 people and we were seated completley far from anyone. Someone came in sat down and then left- I guess they were lucky.
Wouldnt come back here unfortunetly- even just writting about that mouth coating odd oil makes me gag a bit :( -

It's simple.
Good food, big portions, friendly attentive service and a family ambience.
Yummy pizza, delicious Mousaka and more than fair prices.
If you are looking for a family restaurant in the area and want to avoid the soulless feeling of a chain restaurant? This is the place.
Maybe I got lucky and I ordered the right things... but the service and food put it smack into four star territory. Next time I'll try the lamb shoulder and apply a more critical edge.
My kid hasn't eaten this much (healthy) food in forever. Big thumbs up. -

It wasn't a very busy restaurant but we were seated in the back section behind the divider. It felt like we were alone and hence didn't experience the vibrancy of this restaurant as indicated by others. They should lower the partition so that you can see other people.
Me and my son came for a quick spaghetti and meatball dinner. It was good with huge meatballs . The Caesar salad was nice and very garlicky.
Service was friendly but not warm and family-like as others have stated. It is better than a Boston Pizza. -

Maybe it was an off day. Went for lunch hour, place was empty, had a steak sandwich that was bland and chewy.
Was surprised it was that mediocre since it's been around so long. Maybe the real chef called in sick that day. -

Looking for a feel good family run place? Look no further!
I love Trocadero for the following:
-they treat you like family
-awesome caesars (extra extra spicy w/ multiple beans and 2 limes)
-steak and lasagna combo for 19.95
-owner is a huge hockey fan and they have a big screen on game nights
Within it's category (family restaurant) I will gladly choose Trocadero over Boston pizza (impersonal, and soggy pasta) any day! -

There's a special spot in my stomach for this neighbourhood pizza & steak house. Perhaps because it's been around for so many years since childhood that makes me enjoy it more than most.
However I'm certainly not the only one. Lots of other local friends find just as much enjoyment in coming here for food. Service and atmosphere almost always play a huge part in the enjoyment of food and as a result I think this place shines in atmosphere and service.
I'm sure people who've only been here once before would probably just give it 3 stars. There's just something about the friendliness and perhaps the nostalgia factor that makes the food here extra tasty. It has become comfort food to many. -

A Greek restaurant should always be judged on how it does it's mainstay; that being the Slow cooked Lamb Shoulder. And this place has it down perfectly; sone to perfection I loved it when I was there a couple of months back. i have sent friends there since and told them to have the same dish and they too loved it. I would love to try the pizza one of these times; but i do not know if I can take a pass on that succulent moist lamb.

Well, what can we say. It's a nice enough place, family run and family friendly. The food is O.K. The pizza looks good, (but I can't eat that.). I ordered a "Top Sirloin" Exactly what was that the top of, I wonder. What was I thinking? This aint NO SaltLick.
But I never considered that you would get a steak as chewy as this for 16 bux. !
One of our servers (a nephew, a son? -I can't remember,) He happens also to be a butcher. He tried to explain about cuts of meat. Thanks, whatever.
He was a doll though, got me another baked potato to fill the gap in my tummy where that tough meat isn't going. I'm like goody, a sixteen dollar potato. -

OK I'm biased. It was just a pizza joint for me when I was a kid growing up in Vancouver. So I've transitioned from grape fruit juice to beer to wine to grape fruit juice again. Everything for me here is based on childhood memories....but apre ski, it is still a place to hangout somewhere local, walk around with my ski stuff on, have french onion soup or steak or pizza. If you're still hungry for Italian, Commercial drive is not that far away.
