The lady who works here didn't lojack me, but she knows every time I'm back in Vancouver. How? My mom once told her, "My daughter loves your Hainanese chicken with rice" and I make her take me here for this dish whenever I'm home. (Luckily for me it's often!)
Needless to say, this review is dedicated to my love affair (ok, more like obsession) with their HOUSE SPECIAL HAINANESE CHICKEN with (a generous portion of ) rice - pure heaven in my mouth (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...).
I've never had a more fall-off-the-bone, juicy, and flavourful Hainanese chicken. In fact, the meat is so incredibly tender that almost no chewing is required. The best part? It's all dark meat! The rice, seasoned with chicken broth, is flavourful but not too oily like some Hainanese rice tends to be. It comes with minced ginger but the chicken and rice are so flavourful it's really not needed.
The most incredible Hainanese chicken I've ever had and it costs an incredible price of only $5.75! It doesn't get any better than that.Listed in: Crystal Mall Favourites
