Making travel plans now a days can be a little tricky just because there are so many options out there. From all of the travel websites and now, airlines are also offering the same services if you fly with them to include hotel stay and car rentals. So after searching and searching for the best deal I found a great one through Travelocity. Yay!! Booked our honeymoon to Cancun in August and now we're done.
I used to always use Expedia to make travel plans and book flights but I noticed that they charge more for taxes and fees. Boo!! Either way, I'm glad I put in a little work and found a great deal through Travelocity. For that, they get 5 stars. -

Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh.
I'd been searching rates for four days when I finally saw one I liked on Travelocity. After going through confirmation, Travelocity said, "Sorry, your rates have changed. It is now $5,000 (instead of $3,500)". We were like wtf... so I called in to complain to customer service. "Peter", the Indian Travelocity representive didn't know jack squat about anything and said there was nothing he could do, but charge me an extra $25 if I chose to book my trip over the phone with him.
Today, I found another rate I liked, so I tried again. I went through everything: filling out passenger names, picking our airplane seats, etc. and clicked the the last button on the last page for them to charge us. Guess what Travelocity said? "Sorry, your flights are sold out". What the fuck?!?! You're letting me know AFTER I picked our seats and input my credit card information?! I had to call in again to make sure they didn't charge us, of course all the while half not understanding what the hell "Janet" was saying.
Don't ever use Travelocity, it's dumb shit. -

What it amounts to: Jack Squat!
According to Wikipedia, 29 languages are spoken by more than a million native speakers in India. You'd better be sure to speak all of them in case you want to contact Travelocity Customer Support.Listed in: Prince Edward Island

As an on-line travel reservation system goes Travelocity is adequate. I recently found the booking process relatively easy. In November, I had planned a Thanksgiving vacation in Disneyland, Anaheim. Unfortunately, I had to change the dates b/c of a family emergency on my bf's side of the family.
Calling and changing the reservation dates was a bit time-consuming b/c it seems that Travelocity does outsource its customer service devision to Southeast Asia. It was a bit difficult to understand the agent, but he got me the results that I needed. By the end of the 15 minute call, my reservation dates on the vacation package were changed. WHOO...unlike the debacle with http://Expedia.com, travelocity actually did work with my schedule without having to cancel out the ENTIRE package!
Another plus, is the "last minute travel deals" and "fare watcher" e-mails that I've enrolled in, which alert me to any low priced flights to destinations of my choosing from my home airport.
Of course, I haven't really used http://travelocity.com until recently to book a trip. Mostly b/c the website is not as user friendly as expedia. I'll have to update this review once I complete the trip to Anaheim. The hotel is right next to the John Wayne airport...so we'll see.Listed in: On-line all the time

Never again! I'm sticking with Expedia or CheapoAir or I will just stay put.
I needed a last minute ticket from Boston to Chicago and the other sites were sold out. I searched on Travelocity and found one that read "2 seats left!" I clicked on it and I was taken to a screen saying it was no longer available. I searched again and got the same result and repeated the process and arriving at the same conclusion.
I then called them and told them the situation. I spoke to "Ron" in India who was very polite (he gets the one star), and he got me the ticket. I was charged $25 since I didn't get the ticket online but I argued that I tried over and over again. No dice.
What a crappy system they have. -

I tried to find my father a weeklong Alaskan cruise but when I chose a range between August 2010 and September 2011, it said the search was too narrow. I went here to find international airfare for January using their flexible date search. I chose two different airlines five times before I stopped getting the warning to make another selection because "there are no remaining published departure dates/flights for this fare". If its nonexistent or sold out, it shouldn't be listed in the results. Once it does find a flight, there are usually multiple options that detail the kind of airplane and which meals will be served.

Unbelievable! I will never use Travelocity to book flights again. I used them to book an international flight from Sicily to Athens, with a layover in Rome. I arrived at the airport in Sicily at 5 AM to check in for my 7:30 AM flight. I was told by the ticket agent that my ticket was never purchased even though Travelocity sent me a confirmation telling me that my ticket was purchased. Travelocity instead put me on a later flight, which made it impossible to make the connecting flight they also booked me on. After my research into this issue upon returning home from my trip, it was discovered that Travelocity knew this problem, but they made no effort to contact me about it. At the airport, I had to call the Travelocity agent to fix my flight problem, and even though Travelocity customers travel overseas, they provide no toll free calling from international companies! I had to spend 50 DOLLARS to call Travelocity and have this problem fixed. In the end, they didn't even fix the problem and I had to find a way to get to my destination.
When I returned home, I put in a complaint to Travelocity. After much angry calls and emails from me, they gave me a $75 voucher to use on future trips or hotels. What he didn't explain was that the trip had to be a combination of flights AND hotels. So if I purchase another flight from Travelocity, I cannot use this discount, I can only use it if I buy an entire travel package from them. Unfreakingbelievable. They offer me this discount credit as a way to apologize for screwing up my international flight, and with that they try to rip me off by making me purchase an entire trip package instead of just a flight.
I will never ever again use Travelocity to book a flight. Even though the operators were very nice and did their best to help, the fact that the company policies are the way they are will keep me from going back to them forever. When you are in a foreign country where timing of your flight makes all the difference in terms of determining connecting flights, or other train or bus schedules you have to meet to get to your final destination, having Travelocity make this gigantic mistake of not booking me on the correct flight and never informing me of this mistake is simply wrong. I was willing to let the one mistake go, but having them screw a second time with this code they offered, I've just had it with this company. It's just no way to treat people. -

I have used Travelocity before to book vacation packages and flights without any problems until recently. I was needing a clean hotel to stay in Bakersfield, CA for one night while en route between San Francisco and Las Vegas. Travelocity was advertising a 3 star top secret hotel promotion. I guess this is their way to offer great hotel rates on 3 and 4 star hotels to compete with Hotwire and Priceline. I ended up choosing their 3 star, overall traveler rating of 5 stars, hotel for $65.00. I had narrowed the possibilities down to 3 hotels - Courtyard by Marriott, Springhill Suites and Residence Inn by Fairfield. After I paid for it, it was revealed to me that I got the Red Lion Hotel. I had read negative reviews about this hotel on other travel sites, with some of the sites rating this hotel as a 2.5 star. I immediately called Travelocity to explain that their hotel specifications were misleading because the overall traveler rating for the Red Lion is 4.5 based on only 2 reviews from over a year ago, and that the overall rating they are advertising is a 5. Regardless, they refused to assist me in anyway telling me it is a non refundable and non-transferable offer.
Once I did stop at the hotel, it was awful, 2 stars at best. There were no elevators, the carpets and bed sheets were stained, the furniture was outdated and damaged and there were some suspicious looking individuals loitering in the lobby and parking lot. I ended up just staying ther since I only needed 4 hours of sleep, but am still pursuing a Better Business Bureau complaint against Travelocity for their deceptive business practices and "bait and switch" technique. I have bid on hotels before on Priceline and have always gotten what was specified or better. So, if you decide to take part in Travelocity's Top Secret Hotel Promo, you are playing Russian Roulette and will most likely get shot.
