They publish a deck of "100 Best Local Places to Eat and Shop in Vancouver" cards. I tried to find out what else they do, but couldn't find anything. Maybe it's a startup that does only this. The cards are maybe 1.5 times as big as regular playing cards, as tall as an iPhone and 2cm wider.
They hand-picked 100 stores and got them to offer deals. They can range from a free dessert or appetizer with purchase of entree, or 50% off (Nood http://www.yelp.ca/biz...). Most are 10~20% off. Not Bad.
This was more intriguing to me than Entertainment Books because of the interesting format and writeup about each one, AND because they are valid for 2 years. I was also impressed that they have a page on their site dedicated to updates (stores closed, moved, etc.)

I had heard a lot about some of the places on Yelp and was going to try them out anyway!
Package says MSRP $11.95, but I got mine for $10 at NaviTOUR (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...). English ones should be available at Chapters and other places. The site says NaviTOUR has Japanese ones, but not sure who sells the Chinese and Spanish ones the site says are also available.
The cards are colour-coded according to area (Downtown, South Main/Cambie Village, South Granville/Granville Island, Commercial Drive, Kitsilano). I wish it was also somehow sortable into Restaurants and Shopping. That's how I would use it. I think I would miss a lot of deals if I didn't have my Yelp bookmarks.
By the way, the deals are more suited to grown-ups. There are no entertainment attractions, and the restaurants are mostly hip.
