A nice, locally owned joint. If that's what you like, you'll love this place. If you prefer a franchised chain experience, you'll hate this place.
I like it and the prices a re reasonable. Good house wines and excellent food. -

Greeted and seated right away. Only a few tables with customers but it was a Monday night. Wine selection by the glass average but liked the brushetta that was offered complimentary. Had the Insalata Alla Caprese for an appetizer, pretty tasty. Ordered the Fettuccine Alla Calabrese as the Primi but was confused. If you have on your menu a listing for Primi and Secondi why would you serve a huge portion for the Pasta course. I coldn't even finish it to order a Meat course. They should reduce their portions and prices and people would order a true Italitan dinner with multiple courses and dishes.

Pdg. Be sure to learn to read Italian before you look at the menu. Great service. Free shot of bruschAtti with every entree.

While I'd say that this is a fine option, this is clearly not the five-star review I thought I would be writing after my meal here. On a couple of trips before, I read all about this place and by the time we actually buckled down for a meal, maybe my expectations were overly inflated?
Don't get me wrong, the food was good, the service was speedy (which would be expected for a relatively empty restaurant on a Wednesday evening), and the prices were very reasonable at about $35/person including drinks and a shared dessert.
Still, when all was said and done, I don't think I'd rush back here for any reason and likely won't return until exhausting other viable options in the area.
As other reviewers have said, the outside leaves much to be desired, but the interior was as nice as any other small-town restaurant would be. It's obvious they're just going for a comfortable 'family style' feel, and that's easily achieved. I ordered one of the specials - the name of which still escapes me - but it was essentially a large rolled up lasagna. Apparently it was supposed to contain ham, but I never saw a trace of that. Still, the homemade pasta was good, and the two sauces covering the dish made for some nice bread-work after the meal.
We had a piece of tiramisu for dessert (how can you not?) and it met my expectations, though it wasn't something I'll tell stories about.
All in all, I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't wowed. -

When I travel I do my best to avoid franchise food. This place had good reviews, and it lived up to the hype. My friend & I each had one of the daily specials; salmon al portofino for me, and some type of pasta rolle for him.

Nice little Italian place in the quad cities.
We just recently stopped in for dinner while my parents were in town. The food was good and the service was fast. For the price, the portions were plentiful. The service was ok beyond the speed. When the waitress cleared our plates it was like she was in a rush (not a busy night, and even told us they were over staffed that night) banging the plates and quickly scrapping the plates to box.
We ordered the sauteed calamari to start and it came in a nice red sauce. It was a little over cooked, but I do guess this is how most mid-westerners expect it. Table side a decent loaf of bread was delivered, as well as slices of bruschetta which had a nice clean taste. I ordered a caesar salad (if you like anchovies on it...as I do, you have to ask for them). The dressing was good, but caked on a little too much on the salad.
The wine selection has a fair amount of bottles with plenty ranging from $15-25. For dinner I had the fruitti di mare. Being from the east coast I had low expectations for the seafood (but was craving it too much not to get it). The seafood was surprisingly good for the area. Mussels were tender, shrimp was good, clams were fairly clean (squid was slightly over done again).
We skipped dessert because of the amount of food we all consumed, which is probably a sin, since the place has tiramisu right in the name.
I would certainly go back to the place for dinner or some apps and drinks (large bar room), but I wouldn't rave about it. -

I don't think I could say enough good things about this place. I was staying in Rock Falls, IL - but checked yelp for good rated restaurants and decided the rating was worth the hour drive into Iowa to get to Trattoria. I called ahead, and thank goodness, the place was packed. However, I arrived at my reservation time and did not have to wait at all to be seated.
The waitstaff is on fire. My date and I never wanted for anything, but neither were we bugged by overzealous "Can I get you anything else" statements. I never had an empty glass and neither did my date.
The food is worth waiting for. Even with the place packed, we didn't have to wait terribly long to get it. And it was FANTASTIC. Amazing food, kudos to the chef. This place rivals fine dining in New York City as far as food taste and quality. And the prices are crazy reasonable for the portions they serve.
Noise level is reasonable, and in fact, I never really noticed others or really overheard other conversations. The tables and booths are spaced well.
The staff is very kind, never pushy. We ended up staying about half an hour past closing to finish our food and drinks and not once were we asked to leave, or even told the place had closed! They just went about their business and left us to ours.
I can't recommend this enough. Even to drive 2 hours or more I'd go there again. -

After being disappointed that the Italian restaurant we were looking for last week was replaced by a Mexican restaurant we were told about Trattoria Tiramisu. (I will forever be in debt to the person who told us about this place.)
This is one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. Everything about Trattoria Tiramisu is fabulous. It is a great place for a date, birthdays or just because it is Wednesday.
When you first sit down they bring you bruschetta and some really good bread to enjoy while you browse their great menu. For the amount of food you get the price is amazing. You can easily make 2 meals out of one dinner.
The service is great. Everyone is happy and smiling even if they a swamped. -

I have to say that the waitstaff is pretty friendly, the complimentary bruscetta is pretty delicious as well as the olive oil and bread. The pasta dishes are very good but the fish was pretty bland. Also, my Caesar salad, which I am usually a huge fan of was overly vinegary. I would go back based on the food, however the bathrooms are unbelievably filthy...if the kitchen looks anything like the bathrooms I would never eat there. They were so dirty that I literally didn't even go to the bathroom once I was in there because I just wanted out as fast as I could...Please clean up your restrooms or remodel them...Yuck!

My 5 star rating is based on their pasta, service, and price.
This is the best Italian restaurant of all time...OF ALL TIME!!! (lol)
Tiramisu is my favorite italian restaurant in the U.S., and it has the best Italian pastas in the whole state of Iowa.
Yea, if you live in the quad cities, forget places like Biaggi's and Olive Garden and go here!!! (Centuro is not bad)
Wow this is one of the few things that I missed living in Iowa.
Pros:
-They not only give you bread, parmesean, and olive oil, but bruschettas as well!
-If the workers are the same as a few years back, they are great
-cheap $$$ for the quality and quantity you get
-WIDE range of pasta selections. They have older menus, so ask for those if you want more options.
-They can customize the pastas, sauces, etc to whatever you prefer.
And finally, remember to request al dente if you like it to be al dente (the real pasta lovers). The chef used to serve all the dishes in al dente, but unfortunately midwesterners dont know what al dente is and complained of the pasta being "a little uncooked"....lol
so now you have to request it.
If you dont know what to order, order the Gamberetti.
A pasta with shrimps and spinach in a buttery vodka sauce.
hella good!!
me out,
not the best restaurant in Iowa, just...
WHY IOWA!!!??? -

Thank goodness for this cute little italian spot of happiness on Davenport's main drag (UPDATE July 2008: YES I haven't been here since it moved to Bettendorf somewhere).
Excellent dishes, great staff, and cute decor. This is an excellent addition to the good standbys in the QCA.
I remember first going here with two of my co-workers back in the day, and noticed how neat and delectable everything was for a restaurant that had just opened. They've kept up the effort, let me tell you! My parents know one of the waiters and my dad gets his very favorite dish all the time, special just for him. -

The best Italian food in the Quad Cities. Very cozy and romantic. Service nice and quick, but not to quick. Great date place. Large portions. I have not had desert here.
Excellent lunch buffet

Nice Italian! I hate how in cities like this, Italian just means Olive Garden. THIS is how Italian actually is. I come here for special occasions, so the feeling never wears off. Get the tiramisu, maybe because it's in the name, but it's the best I've had, and I'm a tiramisu addict.

Tonight's choice was Italian, and Trattoria Tiramisu was the clear winner! This was the best Italian I've had in the U.S.! Why would anyone bother with a chain when you have such a great spot that is "the real deal"?
The tasty bread and Bruschetta was a perfect start to our meal My friend wanted to try the Portobello Alla Griglia appetizer, and we both enjoyed that. When our pasta selections arrived, we couldn't believe our eyes! Enough for at least two meals, maybe more. My friend had the Fettucini Al Alfredo and I tried the Linguine Alla Carrettiera. Two thumbs up on both selections!
The atmosphere was very nice, the service attentive, and the prices surely can't be beat for what you receive. I wish I could take this QC spot back to Montana with me! -

I came here with a large group (25+ people) and they did a nice job accommodating all of us. We didn't even have a limited menu, everyone was able to order whatever they wanted and it all came out in a reasonable amount of time.
Our apps were solid and my pasta was ok. The tiramisu wasn't anything to write home about, I was kind of disappointed. Maybe I just expected it to be awesome since it's in their name! -

This place is the hidden gem of Iowa!
Who would ever imagine that there's a top-tier, AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant that exists in Iowa? Yes, this place serves very good and authentic Italian dishes (Not those Tour of Italy crap you get at Olive Garden). When I lived in the mid-west, I sure did come here a lot driving from St. Louis.
Tiramisu is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been. I will admit, there are better tasting places than Tiramisu in the country, but what made me give this place a 5star was the price. It is soo cheap (yet the food is great) the cost-performance factor is probably the best amoung all the Italian restaurants I've had in the states. Eating Italian food of Tiramisu's quality in NYC will easily cost 3times more of what you will pay here. -

It looks a little sketch from the outside but this is my favorite lunch stop and I'm lucky enough to work within walking distance. For $10, including tip, you can have a great all-you-can-eat buffet with a drink and they bring you bread, oil and cheese to get started. Service is decent. Food is excellent. I love the bowtie pasta with ham, peas and alfredo sauce. This isn't high-end, just good and reasonably priced. Never been at night.

Pulled in here for lunch with friends. Passed on the buffet and ordered the tortellini in a cream sauce with mushrooms, peas, ham and parm cheese. Turned out great. Liked the fact it wasn't bathed in the sauce. The bread and olive oil to start was good and plentiful. The house chianti was even good.

Let me start off by saying "I hate the Olive Garden!" I always have. Everytime go there9Garden) I can taste the plastic container the meal was frozen in.
So, I read the reviews on yelp about "Trattoria Tiramisu", and decide to take my wife in for dinner. WOW! I knew it was going to be good the minute we walked in the door as we could smell the red sauce in the kitchen cooking. The atmoshere was simple but clean, no mirrals painted on the wall to jack up your food bill.
We were greeted by a very polite and helpful waiter, were seated and promptly given a loaf of bread with butter. The wine "menu" is about 4 pages long...longer than the actual menu! The menu mainly consists of patsa, but if you want something(I was in the mood for veal parm.) just ask...the waiter said the kitchen would prepare anything we wanted.
Food was AWESOME, prices were good for the portions and the dessert was great. Wife had tiramisu and I had canolli, the best I EVER had!!!
We WILL be going back, as this is now our favorite place to get away from the kiddy places.
UPDATE 5/10/2010... Just went back to T.T for our anniversary, and the food was nothing less than impressive again! Wife had the chicken alfredo, it was the best white sauce I've EVER had! My sister makes a great homemade alfredo, but I have to be honest...T.T's beat her out!
I did not know this, but they are open for lunch during the week from 11-2 and have a buffet lunch special for $8. Granted, it's not a very big buffet, it looked to have about 5 different items plus 4 different types of salad(including ceasar salad). But, everything smelled soooo good. My wife wants to skip out of work someday to go try it...I'M GAME! -

This place is a gem. A friend and I stumbled across Trattoria Tiramisu while walking downtown, and we stopped in on a whim. I'm so glad we did! It's a small place, romantic, with linens and candles on each table. The service was very good and the menu had more than the usual Olive Garden fare. The place just felt authentic. I have only been there once, but look forward to returning again soon.

I love that this place is locally owned. Their food is really good. It's reasonably priced. The atmosphere can be romantic if you eat in the dining room or can be more social if you eat in the bar area. The staff was good to us as well.

Good food. Mainly pasta dishes. i was hoping for some sort of Italian steak house-much like Johnny's Steak house or Olive Garden. I tried to find the Don in the room, but the problem was that everyone looked like they were apart of the mafia.

To say I was horribly disappointed would be an understatement! I had read several glowing reviews so I had myself built up for an excellent Italian dinner. I was excited that the waitress brought bread to the table as soon as we sat down....uh bread was ok but the review I read saying it tasted like dish soap was spot on. It was kind of dry and not good. We ordered fried ravioli and they were there very quickly and tasted fine. Our entrees came before we finished our appetizer. I ordered fettucini with chicken and mushrooms while my husband had chicken parmesan with fettucini alfredo as a side. The first few bites were fine but there was little to no sauce on my past so it dried and clumped together. Then I had a mushroom and it all went downhill. They apparently hadn't cleaned them as there was sand/grit in the mushroom and every bite thereafter. I ate three more bites and had to quit or I was going to have been sick. My husband tried mine and agreed that it was gritty and offered me his fettucini alfredo. I tried to eat it but again it lacked sauce and clumped, I ate three bites and could go no further. We ordered tiramisu and again I was disappointed. It was not fresh at all and was and individual serving made in its own dessert cup. If your restaurant name includes the word tiramisu I strongly suggest offering a phenominal specimen not a day old soggy one.

Meirvelluxe! Before stumbling upon this gem of a dining experience, finding authentic Italian outside my own kitchen in the Quad Cities was a bit like looking for matching socks in your dryer while it's still spinning. However, this lovely little joint is fantastic! I have been to Florence, Venice, and Rome. This place makes me feel like I am sitting at a cozy trattoria in Rome. As soon as you walk in you are hit with beautiful aromas and friendly Italian smiles. The pasta here is fresh and amazing. The sauces are perfect....the mussels in spicy tomato broth...MMMM! They serve bruschetta before the meal that is spot on and delicious warm bread in baskets. Make yourself up a little olive oil, parmesan, fresh gournd pepper deliciousness for dipping...Yum! My favorite app is the fried ravioli with marinara. The Bolognese pasta is delicious. Also, the Tiramisu for dessert is absolutely splendid. A bonus...this place is great for parties! You can rent out the back room and they give a great deal on appetizers and desserts for the group! I totally suggest Trattoria for your next date night or family outing! Plus, they take reservations! Order up some house wine and enjoy!

My fiance and I are new to the Quad Cities area and decided to make a reservation at Trattoria Tiramisu in hopes of having a cozy, romantic Italian dinner together. Wow, was that ever a mistake! Upon arriving, we waited patiently for the hostess to seat us. She sat another couple and then returned to the hostess counter where she proceeded to flip through paper and ignore us for a good two minutes. When she finally noticed us standing there she said, "Oh.. you want a table?" My husband replied that we had reservations which didn't seem to matter to her as she just ignored him and lead us to a table. Once we sat at the table she literally threw the menus down on the table and walked away. The table was filthy... food crumbs on the table cloth and disgustingly dirty plates. (My fiance and I debated getting up and walking out at this point... and looking back I really wish we had.) We were brought a basket of bread and asked for clean plates. The server returned with two more dirty plates and two half-drank glasses of water (the ice was nearly melted, the glasses were half-full and their were lipstick marks on them). Frustrated, we thought we'd give the bread a try... it was hard and tasted like dish water. (Again, I wish we would have left at this point). Eventually our waitress appeared at our table and asked if we were ready to order... we weren't and asked for another few minutes... not 30 seconds later she returned again. She was very rude and I felt as though we were at a fast food restaurant the way she was rushing us. We ordered and our meals were brought out fairly quickly. Again, they came with further disappointment. Whoever claimed that Trattoria Tiramisu serves authentic Italian food is sorely mistaken. Having lived in Italy for 6 months, I can assure you anyone who has sampled real Italian cuisine would have laughed at the food served here. Poorly plated, barely warm, and blah. Their sign outside says Cucina Italiana (Italian kitchen) but it is anything but! Still determined to not let our poor choice in venue ruin our evening, we choked down what we could of the food and sipped on our wine (which was the ONLY highlight of the meal). The waitress came to take our plates and picked over food and immediately set the check down. No, "would you care for dessert or another glass of wine" -- she just plopped it down and said, "You pay me. I'll be back." Wow! We would have liked to have another glass of wine, but so much for that. We paid and got up to leave. We had not even taken two steps away from the table and the waitress was there; bent over the table, looking over her glasses to see how much tip we had left her on the credit card receipt. Are you kidding me?
We will NEVER be returning to Trattoria Tiramisu. Terrible service, horrible atmosphere, filthy dishes, and bad food. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else because Trattoria Tiramisu is about as authentic as the Olive Garden. I'm definitely disappointed as I was really hoping to find a great Italian place in the area. -

Trattoria Tiramisu is just OK. I've eaten there twice, and both times have had good but unexceptional food. The service has been good, the waiters friendly and the ambiance is decent. On my most recent visit (June 16, 2010), I had Salmone Al Pagliacci, which is a salmon filet sauteed in brandy sauce with cherry tomato, zucchini, mushrooms and eggplant. The portions were great but the salmon was slightly undercooked. Also, instead of eggplant, the dish appeared to include summer squash. The dish included a side of roasted red potatoes. The entire dish was bland including the sauce, which had little flavor. My girlfriend ordered Pesce Ai Funghi, which was tilapia sauteed in a white wine sauce with wild mushrooms, garlic, capers, diced tomato and lemon. It had more flavor than mine but was still just mediocre. I can't comment on the desserts because we didn't order any. Also, the wine list and beer selection is impressive. My quest for great Italian food in the Quad Cities continues... I hope it exists.
