I love Trader Joe's! So does my kid! I was going to the one over in Oak Park because I had no idea about the one here in Park Ridge! Thank goodness! Saves a lot of gas!
Whenever I go, I make sure to grab Organic Popcorn w. Olive Oil, Those Yummy Peanut Butter Cups, (Which, YES are 1000xs better than Ressee's!) & a must, 19cent bananas!
I love the poultry way more than buying from anywhere else. I do not eat red meat, but I have a little one, so I always buy from Trader Joe's. The quality is better than any supermarket, and cheaper than Whole Foods. -

This is the best Trader Joe's in the Chicagoland area.
The staff are helpful and are always going around restocking fresh produce and products. There is never an empty shelf in here.
Great selection of flowers, bread, and cheeses.
My only problem is with the parking lot. It is small and hard to maneuver around in. I've taken to parking on the street for easier leaving. -

This Trader Joe's is pretty awesome. Friendly staff, well-labeled items, extra information on many products, and punny decorations fill the store. Parking is easy, and like every TJ's I have visited, it's easy to find vegan and gluten-free items. They are also really great about opening a new aisle at checkout when the lines get long. The prices on a lot of the produce, like bananas, are consistently good.
My big problem here is that I LOVE so many products, but they are not reliably stocked. Apparently, many other people love them too, and TJ's cannot keep up with the demand. Half the time, they are out of the goat yogurt my doctor has me eating now. Getting the soy ice cream I am technically not allowed to have for two more months is a craps shoot, so when I go I have to buy three since next time, there may be none available. (Yes, this is the real reason I have so many cartons of it in the freezer. I swear.) Some of the frozen entrees are similarly unpredictable.
I guess if the #1 complaint a grocery store has is that they keep selling out of things, they're doing something right. Still, it is dangerous to get between a pregnant woman and her ice cream. Somebody could lose a hand. For endangering their customers in this way, I must dock them one star. If you want to take your chances on shopping with Pregzilla on the loose, I still recommend TJ's for your grocery shopping. -

Love it here. The staff are always super helpful and nice. Good prices. I always stock up on the Harvest Grains Blend, their rice blend, and their cheap garbanzo beans. And whatever $7 wine catches my eye.

I love Trader Joe's. In some ways it has the feel of a European Market crossed with an American grocery store. The best of both worlds, I guess.
We went to the Park Ridge location to check it out. We usually go to the one on Lincoln Ave., but I am sick of dealing with the crazy parking lot there. The parking lot in Park Ridge is not as crazy, but just as busy.
We stocked up on some TJ essentials for the holidays. Got us some meatballs (frozen), their bread and butter pickles, a few bottle of Two Buck Chuck (which is now $2.99). I also picked up some other odds and ends, including two tiny poinsettia plants for table decorations for Xmas.
I think we will probably stick with the Lincoln Ave. store because it is closer. This location, however, does have a lot going for it. It is a case of weighing the pluses and the minuses. Such is life in the big city. -

This place is the balance in my life. We give in to so much temptation on the outside but at home we keep it healthy thanks to affordable and super tasty food from Trader Joe's. I used to break my back trying to do only scratch cooking but there are so many affordable healthy pre-made items here that It really takes a load off and I don't have to stress if there is GMO's or super toxic killer gunk in our food. We get enough of that when we eat out so like I said this gives us the balance we need.
The staff here are super awesome restoring my faith in humanity. I am so tired of people who do not look at you in the eyes or act rude if you ask a question. Here there is none of that they ask you if you need help when you walk the aisle, they check your eggs to make sure you did not get a broken one, make pleasant conversation while they bag your groceries and are knowledgeable about the products they sell. I always ask whats there favorite thing in the store or if they have a recommendation. I have found many good things this way.
When I shop here I feel happy because I know its going to be a good experience and I bring home lots of yummy stuff that's actually good for me too.

I love Trader Joe's and I shall forever be a loyal customer. Forget about organic, there food simply tastes better than anything else out there. And it's not even that much more money. If you don't believe me just go in there and buy a bag of Almonds. They can be described as sweet, delicious, and addictive.
My fav items:
Almonds
Gouda cheese
canned black beans
avocado

I've always dreaded going grocery shopping until TJ's came into my life. Their food (TJ brand) is delicious AND we end up spending less than we would a Jewel/Dominick's. Some of my favorites are their low calorie lemonade, cereals/granola, and their prepared foods.

I love Trader Joe's overall, and am so glad I learned about the Park Ridge location. The aisles are nice and wide, so there's none of that clusterf*ck feeling while shopping. The prices and selection are great (get yourself a bottle or two of their Holiday Ale!) and the staff are super friendly and helpful. This location is much closer to us than Glenview, which means frequent TJ trips!

Fun fact of the day: Did you know that TJ's is owned and operated by the Aldi Corporation? It's a far cry from the likes of that chain (no offense), but this place has created a niche in specialty food products at low, low prices. It rivals big names like Whole Foods and Fox & Obel.
I'm kind of obsessed with TJ's. The pretty packaging and low prices are what keeps me a repeat customer. Not to mention, their products are very unique! Every time I go, I find myself reaching for things I didn't intend on going there for in the first place. (It's sort of like Target but for Food).
Some of my top recommendations include:
Mochi ice cream (green tea or mango)
Trek mixes
Frozen green enchiladas with chicken
black bean and corn enchiladas (meal for one)
stacked eggplant parmesan (meal for one)
Shelled fresh edamame
TJ's greek yogurt (plain or with honey)
Hanson's root beer
Salsa Verde
Roasted Red Piquillo Peppers
Lemon Pepper Pappardelle
Cinnamon raisin (rice and flour) english muffins
soy ice cream black cherry chocolate chip
Joe Joe's (better than Oreos!)
Pretzel Rolls
Goat cheese
Chicken Sausages (chicken apple sausage is the bomb!)
banana chips
dried bing cherries
Organic peanut butter and almond butter
Ok, that's enough for now. I'm starving!!!Listed in: Lunch Staples

I love Trader Joe's, and I needed to get some more frozen entrees because I was close to running out of them. The Arlington Heights location is closer to me, but I decided to visit this location because I was coming from the north side of Chicago.
There was a parking lot in the back, but after playing musical chairs with many other cars for the few open parking spaces (from other cars leaving), I decided to exit the parking lot and was facing Summit Avenue. Across the street was a marvelous sight: a free parking garage! (The parking garage must be new, since the site was still under construction on the Google Street View cameras.) I went in there to park, and there were countless open spaces available with no permits or stickers required. The only signs on the spaces indicated there there was a three-hour time limit, so I parked and went in.
The store had the usual selection of Trader Joe's merchandise, though the aisles were definitely more crowded than the Arlington Heights location; this was likely due to the location in downtown Park Ridge (the Arlington Heights store is in a strip mall). The produce and cereal aisle had displays in the center of the aisle as well as a sample station, making maneuvering somewhat tricky. There are also only two bathrooms (both unisex) available in the store.
Despite the crowds, checkout was fast and friendly. I left and restocked my freezer full of yummy food.
I was satisfied with my visit. The parking lot and small store size were negatives, but the selection and customer service won me over. Now that I know there is a parking garage across the street, my next visit should be even better.
Overall: 3.5/5 -

Once I moved to the city, I fell in love with Trader Joe's. Any location--doesn't matter--I love all that I've been to. Unfortunately, it was usually quite a chore to get to one where I previously lived (of course they finally got around to building one within walking distance after I moved...) I was so glad to randomly check their website for a location near me and actually find one a reasonable distance away.
Anybody familiar with/in love with knows how great their prices and products are so I don't have anything to add. Every staff member I've encountered has been incredibly friendly and more than helpful; I always seem to come across at least one in the aisles who asks if I need help. I swear some of the happiest people on Earth work at this TJ's.
What I will say is that this is, unfortunately, a store I cannot shop solely at. Their produce and meat sections lack depending on what you're looking for. They've got quite a bit of meat, but I was surprised I couldn't get a simple roast. They have plenty of marinated/seasoned meats, but that's a negative for someone like me who actually wants to do that part themselves. Also surprising is that they have no dried beans. It's OK, though, I'm usually shopping for other things at places that do have what I'm missing so it's not a big deal. -

Trader Joe's
I have an issue with the way Trader Joe's workers are trained vs Aldi's workers, being that they are owned by the same owners. Trader Joe's customers generally are assumed to be of a certain economic status vs Aldi, is that why the workers at Trader Joe's are trained to be very social, etc. where at Aldi's you bag your grocery yourself the service is nil. Something about this bothers me so much from a social economic treatement disparity and racial standpoint. Same owners, why not train your employees to be the same way whether at Aldi's or Trader Joes?
Flowers are Trader Joe's ususally die within a day, or less.
I go to the Trader Joes in Oak Park there was an Aldi's in Oak Park until recently they were closed down, wonder if it was because Oak Park only wants a certain clientele in the neighborhood.
Trader Joe's and Aldi's same owner, but for some reason folks saying they shop at TJ is seen more as a good class vs if it's Aldi's. -

Brand new TJs is a great addition to downtown Park Ridge. You'll see the storefront sign from NW Hwy, but you actually have to turn on a sidestreet to park in the big lot and enter the store.
This store is nicely laid out - wide aisles. TJs has so many cool items that we now can't live without. Toddler is addicted to the freeze-dried strawberries. My new favorite is the Mandarin Orange chicken - it rivals what you'd find at a Chinese restaurant. In fact, a customer saw me loading up and asked my opinion on it. (I convinced her to try it).
Everything is well-stocked from what I could see (it's a new store, after all). Samples throughout the place. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Be sure to check out the wine section - two buck Chuck (Shiraz) is a staple in our house! -

This Trader Joe's has all the same stuff as the one in Glenview...except for the ENORMOUSLY SPACIOUS aisles. Seriously. You Park Ridge shoppers are really lucky, especially the ones who live right upstairs!
It was a perfect Trader Joe's visit. Where were all the annoying children? No one pushed a mini cart into my legs! What a miracle. Also, the sample station was showcasing TWO of my favorite snack foods - TJ's pumpernickel pretzel (sooooo good) and the Honeycrisp apple (one of my favorites, try one!).
The staff are friendly as ever and the products are, well, you know, amazing and cheap and delicious. And man, those aisles.... so much room.

Natural/organic peanut butter
Goat cheese (great prices)

Almond ginger granola cereal
Chili spiced dried mango

I also love their minty body wash/shampoo/conditioner. No matter what TJ's I visit, the staff is always very friendly and helpful! -

Why didn't I find this place sooner? I go here at least once a month. It is a great place to stock up on a few necessary items, not your entire grocery or else you will have quite a hole in your wallet!
I love their roasted red pepper soup, their garlic (not the frozen kind) naan that I enjoy with their Mediterranean hummus...so delish!
Their frozen macaroni and cheese is soo ooeey gooeyy and good. I love their dried fruit and prepared foods, although those can be a little pricey!
The aisles are super spacious and they always have a yummy sample treat awaiting! The staff is really friendly, helpful. Parking is easy and I always stop by at Krisers right next door!
Another huge plus? Cheap wine :) -

I love Trader Joe's. I love the cool stuff they have here and most importantly I love that I can afford it.
Can't say anything that hasn't been said but I Will say this.
Every time I go to Trader Joe's the staff is so nice! Unlike some other grocery stores people really seem to like their jobs and it shows. People were saying hi, telling me I have cute hair, throwing out smiles left and right. Flattery will get you every where!!Listed in: Chain, Chain, Chain, WINE-ing, Groceries

Grocery Shopping is fun again..........
Fridays were payday for my dad, so when I was 7 I would BEG him to let me go grocery shopping with him. I loved looking at all the new displays of yummy treats, checking out cereal box labels for what toys might be inside, and getting to pick out a candy or bag of cookies to take home.
Trader Joe's brings that all back. Except that this time, I'm paying and I can buy all that my little heart desires. For cult TJ fans, this is no ordinary shopping experience. You don't just run in to "get a few things". You browse. You linger. You marvel at the selections. This is a unique grocery in that it is not gargantuan. It's rather small, and there aren't many aisles, like the Jewels of the world. And selections of everything - produce, fresh meat, deli, etc - are not huge either. But that's okay. Because everything is HIGH QUALITY. Most items are Trader Joe's private label, but their suppliers are outstanding.
My initial excuse to shop there was to get organic dairy for my toddler, much cheaper than any other place around. But I quickly found replacements for all the expensive mass produced branded products I buy, at a fraction of the price.
Tastier cereals, fresh breads, unique fruits (in season), GREAT organic frozen veggies, delish ready to eat items. Small but fresh chicken section (with both free range and kosher). GREAT wine selection - their recommendations are never off! I even put together xmas baskets last year with a selection of their high quality chocolates, dried fruits, wine, and trail mixes. Have you ever read their "flyer"/newsletter that comes out quarterly? It is fun and makes everything sound so tantalizing, you just have to try all the new stuff. I would list all my fav stuff to buy, but that would take forever. You just have to check it out.
Their "satisfacation guaranteed" policy - the BEST. How often do you buy something from Jewel and just don't like it, but don't take it back because of the hassle (hey lady, where's your receipt?). Not at TJ's, no receipt, no hassle, nothing. They want you happy, with everything.
And the icing on the cake - the friendly employees. If you're a regular they say.....................HELLO! Whaaaa? Did I hear that right? And then, when you are checking out, get this - you will not believe it - they will have a FRIENDLY conversation with you. Yeah, you! And at the end, they will say THANK YOU. I don't get this ever. At the Jewels, Dominatrix, or Whole Paycheck. Ok, I still need to go to those other places because TJ's doesn't carry my fav brand of TP and they haven't gotten around to private label tampons, but when they continue their plan of world domination and RULE the grocery world they will have everything your little heart desires. Except maybe the toys in the cereal boxes. Eh, no biggie. The magic 8 ball was the only one I ever liked anyway. -

I was very happy that Trader Joe's opened a location right by my work. It's very convenient for shopping after work and a lot easier than trying to get to the downtown locations. (This is especially true since I don't have a car readily available.)
Trader Joe's is a great place to buy pre-made vegetarian entrees. I absolutely love their fresh salsa and hummus. You really can't get it nearly as good at any other grocery store. The produce is always really good, and the prices are great! -
Review from Mike O.
Well, I've been to other Trader Joe's locations. This one just opened in early March, so it'sbrand new. The parking is small but not crazy wild requiring traffic controllers like the nearest Whole Foods on Peterson that also opened recently. Inside, it's like any other Trader Joe's I've seen.
First thing you see when you come in, are the fresh flowers at remarkably great prices. Where else can you get a dozen roses on Mother's Day for $3.99 without the transaction involving a bearded, sunburned, homeless-looking guy on the street corner? And those roses lasted an entire week!
There are unique items like the apple-raspberry sauce I love, frozen items, and unique foods the big chains don't offer. I am addicted to the Panda Puffs cereal, which are round yellow balls that taste peanut buttery and sweetened lightly. I can eat it straight out of a box, but it's even better with some warm (not hot) milk. There's a pretty big wine section but I'm not into wines so I can't really get into details there.
My son liked it too since they gave out balloons and had little kid-sized shopping carts. -

ya can't beat their prices for great food,it's basically a Whole Foods at Aldi prices,.their Tuna steaks are bad ass,I eat them so much I'm pretty much waiting to contract Mercury poisoning and die.Everything there is great to whip up for a fast meal.great selection of interesting/diverse foods.who the fuck can't love TJ's???...not to mention theres always so many good looking Women there (shopping and working there),..sometimes its hard to keep an eye on what I'm putting in my cart when my eyes are scanning the place for cute chicks,.. man o man -

Great selection of cheap but delicious products. If you haven't been in a Trader Joe's before, you're missing out. Wider aisles, less crowded, and more parking than the Glenview location. Employees are friendly and knowledgeable and the return policy is top notch - if you didn't like something, just let them know for a hassle-free refund or exchange (don't even need a receipt).
Meat and produce can sometimes be a toss up but most dry and frozen TJ's branded products are wonderful.
On top of a great organic selection, many of their products don't contain hydrogenated oils or preservatives. This is a great place to shop if you like to eat healthy... Or drink a lot of wine! -
Review from Ed A.
My first impression of Trader Joe's was that it was nothing more than an up scale 711. Excerpt that you won't find Apu working here late nights because it closes at 9 PM.
The merchandise available is tailored for the shopper seeking organic food and higher-quality merchandise. From fresh fruit, organic chips, candy and juices, the store has it all. A little pricey but a good alternative for specific items never to be carried by stores like Jewel or Dominic's. If you want vitamins, you won't find a better selection outside of Walgreens.
The store is bright, clean and the aisles are wide enough to bowl watermelons down. The layout of the store is also a plus. With a smaller selection of merchandise, your ability to shop quickly and to grab and go is vastly increased, when compared to the football sized Jewel stores one must trek through just to get some milk.
For what it is, it's a great store.Listed in: Products or Services I Use

Love it! I've never been to Trader Joe's and was on my way home the other day with my sister and my kids and decided to stop in. My sis hadn't be there either and walked out with like 8 bottles of wine.
Anyway, I so love their stuff! Their yogurt o's were great, cheaper than the named brand and actually tastier! I got a ham steak that was SO thick and incredibly delicious! Love their mixed nuts and trail mixes as well. And then there's the fact that they've got a great selection of frozen stuff and wines. I cannot say enough about them, except that they're also incredibly affordable!
Oh, and they've got little mini-carts that your little ones can push in the store too, which is too cute! -

Oh, Trader Joe's! You're my favorite grocery store in the area. I love your fresh produce and selection of organic and veggie friendly food. Yay! Prices are fair and I love most of the TJ brand goods I've tried. I'm so glad you moved to the area. If I were there, I'd ring your bell!

Pretty nice store..their fresh produce is great and the employees were knowledgable and helpful. I only wish they had a larger frozen selection...they were missing a few things that I'd come to love that are available from other TJ's.
If you're by the checkout and need a chocolate fix, I highly recommend the TJ brand organic milk chocolate/dark chocolate truffle bar. Quite possibly the most delicious chocolate I've tasted in a LONG time. -

This is a really great Trader Joe's.
The employees are great. There's always someone around to answer a question about a product or help you locate something. You rarely have to wait in line. If they see you waiting to check out, and there's a closed register, they'll open a register for you, even if there's only one person in line ahead of you. Plus, they know the products and make helpful recommendations.
The products that the store offers are good, I've only tried one item that I was unhappy with. The only small flaw I've found with this store is the produce section. The quality is good, but some items are only offered prepackaged, so you can't choose the exact quantity that you want. -

Finding this Trader Joe's was a blessing to my pantry as well as my wallet. I can get a lot of dry goods and some fruit, along with fun random stuff for reasonable prices. One thing I've learned is to stay away from their meat/seafood selections - the seafood is almost always frozen and doesn't taste that great; the meat can be hit or miss.
Unfortunately, they don't have as much fresh produce as I would like, but the selection is expanding every trip I head out there.
They also give incentives for bringing in your own bags (a raffle once a month for free groceries).
For some reason, it's less congested than the TJ's in Glenview, and I refuse to go to the store on Lincoln because of the location. It's easy to waste money here on the huge selections of fun stuff, so watch your cart!!! -

I like Trader Joe's in general and love this location. The store is rather spacious and the items are laid out in a way that makes sense. I do not buy produce there, because it is expensive, but stock up on things like frozen items, pasta, cheese and wine often.
The products themselves are very reasonably priced - way cheaper than Whole Foods and often cheaper than Jewel.
The employees are great - always smiling and very friendly. -

This is the Trader Joe's to go to. We usually visit the T.J.'s on Lincoln, but I just couldn't muster the energy to do it the other day. I was running errands out in that direction, so I decided to drive a little further and it was well worth it. This T.J.s has ample parking, friendly staff, aisles wide enough for two carts to get down, and a huge wine selection. I would definitely recommend it.

Nice, shiny new TJ's closer to home! Yeah! Good selection as always. Parking lot is bit different, you enter off of a side street. Lots of new condos in the area should be great for Park Ridge and TJ's. Some rather self involved folks who don't seem to know or care that others truly exist, but other than that, no complaints. Glad to have a TJ's closer. Now if we could just get one in Franklin Park!

I go here once or twice a month - for some reason I was here twice in a week, once on of the really bitter single digit degree mornings. On this particular morning, I had my 3 year old daughter with me.
3 things that stuck out in my mind that morning:
1) The cashier overheard me telling my daughter that maybe she could share her stickers with her sister. She then gave her some extra stickers to share.
2) Though I had my daughter push a mini-me cart throughout the store, I had it loaded and hadn't thought through getting all the stuff out to the car with my kid in tow. Aforementioned cashier flagged down a co-worker and had her get me big cart.
3) As I was loading up the car, yet another friendly Trader Joe's person came to get my cart so that I wouldn't have to walk it back "because it was so cold out".
I was so impressed by these 3 things, little things, but so thoughtful and friendly. Truly appreciated! Thx Trader Joe's! -

It's funny what you learn on the Internet. I had nooooooooo idea there was a location here. All this time I was wishing to shop at Trader Joe's more often, but there was never a convenient location near my house. This one is on the way home from working in the burbs. I went on a quiet Sunday to scope it out and parked right on Northwest Highway. What I didn't realize is that a little to the south, tucked away, is a parking lot! This is a new building and there is a whole little plaza back there! Too cute! Anyway, it's a nice location so I stocked up on a bunch of stuff to last me for the rest of the month! Yeaaaaahhhh! Trader Joe's.......Trader Joe's....

What can you say about Trader Joe's that hasn't already been said? If I know I have a busy week coming up, I head straight to TJ's. I can run through the entire store, stock an entire week's worth of meals, snacks, and lunch fixins', and make it out the door spending $150 or less. If I tried to do that at my local Jewel, I would easily spend $50-$75 more. Nobody beats Trader Joe's when it comes to tasty convenience!
