I love this location if only because they seem to perpetually have buy-one-get-one-half-off on OPI nail polish. :) This is a great big store with lots of selection. I haven't really explored much of it because I'm a sucker for nail polish and I'm just there for the OPI.

Trade Secrets sells brand name hair products, makeup, nail car, hair accessories and appliances and more. They also offer hair, nail and waxing services.
Personally, I don't like this particular Trade Secret location because of the staff. Upon walking in, the staff was behind the cash which is facing you when you walk in. I did not get a hello, or even a glance. The entire place was dead silent and I was basically on my own to find what I was looking for. I was told that Trade Secret has waxing products from Gigi, all I found was this one can of overpriced wax from that brand. Most of the things seemed overpriced. The only thing that attracted me was the wall of OPI polishes ($9.95 each); they have a nice stock that includes all the recent collections.
I found a nice OPI polish that I had trouble finding in other places. I went up to the cash to pay for my item, and I then presented my coupon to the girl at the cash. She barely looked at it and handed over to the older Asian woman beside her (probably the manager or the owner of the shop). The lady then refused to honour the coupon because in her opinion my item was too cheap for her to do so. She claimed I would have to buy something much more expensive in order for her to accept the coupon, even though the coupon says "25% off on any one regular priced item in the store." I will in fact even write the fine print here "Discount applied on highest priced Item." I even asked if she expected me to buy multiple items, but the answer was no. To her, highest priced item means "expensive" item. She said it had to be at least $50 or $100. No highest priced item actually means the HIGHEST priced item you are purchasing, which in this case was $9.95. The meaning of the word "highest" and the word "expensive" are really quite different. Anyway, she was just trying to pull a fast one.

I used to go to sudis but they were completely booked and couldn't squeeze me for eyebrow threading... So I decided to try trade secrets @ yonge and st.Claire. A young lady named Shima did such a wonderful job. I highly recommend her!

Eyebrow Threading. I went in to buy a flat iron and noticed a sign that said,"Eyebrow Threading." Since I was being exorbitantly ripped off at Sudis in Hazelton Lanes, I figured I had nothing to lose (except unwanted hair!) I made an appointment with Shima at Trade Secrets. I wanted a full face threading including eyebrows. This is not a fancy-shmancy place but it's clean and more than acceptable. Shima is a beautiful, young Iranian woman who is sweet, charming and wants to please. I told her I wanted my eyebrows thin and arched and removal of all unwanted facial hair. She works quickly and efficiently and the end result was surprisingly excellent. I HIGHLY recommend her. The price for everything was $25. For eyebrows alone, the price is $10-$15. I wanted to kick myself for not having found her earlier and wasting all that money at Hazelton Lanes but such is life. I live in the neighbourhood and see her regularly every 2 weeks. I am sooooo happy to have found this treasure of a woman at a very reasonable price. No appointment is needed but I believe in appointments. I believe you'll be happily satisfied and I feel like I've scored. Very nice, friendly people but she's the ONLY one to see for threading.
