Review from Kyrsten J.
New Westminster, BC
Township 7's Langley vineyard (they have an Okanagan one too, I think) is cute and the wines they produce are amazingly varied for what at first seems to be a small vineyard. Nestled in the heart of Langley, it's a great trip out of the city to get out to pastoral farmland and sip some wine.
Their tasting fee is relatively cheap ($3 at the time we tried), and you do get it back when you buy wine. They are particularly good at making dry whites - and in fact, i loved their only non-dry white (a 1 on the BC sweetness scale) which was their flagship "7 Blanc" wine, a mix of Gewurtztraminer, Muscat and Pinot Gris grapes. It's sweet enough to be drinkable but not so sweet you can't put it in risotto (one of my major deciding factors for most whites ;) ) It's got the fruitfulness from the Gewurtztraminer and the sweetness and depth of flavor from the Muscat grapes. Yum!
The vineyard is lovely with the yellow building, and in addition to wine, they offer mediterranean tapas for those that want to have an actual glass and stay. The proprietors are lovely people and aren't afraid to chat and be generous with the pourings when they know you are willing to spend money with them (hey, this is big - many wineries don't bother much with you unless you have 6 bottles in hand...) -

It was the first winery I saw while going down this picture pretty path, and you would think that all BC wine is pretty good. The winery itself is nice, when you pull into the gravel parking lot, it is small and nice, a pretty place not too far from the city, and coming from me, who has been drinking wine for quite a long time, the wine did not jive with my palate.
I felt that the wines were sour, with not much character, the service there and the passion was great, it is just my taste buds on this one. As a place to visit, since it is along the road, by all means, drive in, but if you are a wine person do not expect much.
Wine tastings here have a cost, but if you buy a bottle you don't have to pay, as the wine was not to my liking, I paid. -

What a lovely setting.
Like a mini trip to Napa or the Okanagan.
We enjoyed our visit to this small, almost casual tasting room with a large selection of wines, and my favourite being the Sauvignon Blanc.
An intimate tasting room on a beautiful property, with friendly and welcoming proprietors.
This is a great place to bring guests from out of town and introduce them to BC wines.
We'll be back, I know it!Listed in: "Wanna get outta Dodge"?

This review is primarily based on the wines, not the winery itself. I'm not a big wine connoisseur, but I didn't like most of the wines here. That's just personal preference.
The winery itself is quite pretty and the staff were friendly, but I wish they didn't have a tasting fee. I've been to a number of wineries in Ontario and none of them charged a tasting fee. I think it's pretty reasonable to expect that folks will buy at least a bottle when they've come all the way out to your winery, so charging a fee just isn't great customer service in my mind (although Township 7 waives the fee if you buy a bottle).
I guess I'll just have to go to the Okanagan now for some wine!Listed in: Get outta town

Love the lush vineyard. Township 7 also has a winery Okanagan Valley.
The shop/ tasting room is a small yellow building, where you can taste up to 6 wines for $3, in which the fee is waived if you buy wine. I particularly enjoyed their Gewurztraminer. Got to try both whites and reds. Very friendly people, and they recommended other wineries around the area.
A wonderful place to visit on an afternoon trip. -

Township 7 WInery is a small family winery in South Langley. They have 6 day a week wine tasting, and really amazing selections. Not a fancy wine type myself, but certainly a fan of this experience and the homey feeling. Living in the area it is easy for us to stop by and pick up a bottle on our way to dinner parties or even for ourselves.
The little on site cabin/store/tasting bar is lovely and the staff are super helpful.
On Easter weekend they host an egg hunt for kids among the vines, while parents enjoy tasting. This is the single most civilized thing I have ever done.... happy children, and we drink wine... LOVE IT!!! -

I really enjoyed making the trip out to this cute, friendly winery in Langley. Alison educated and let us taste almost all the wines, she was wonderful. We came here on a drizzly afternoon so i can't even imagine what it would be like on a gorgeous day. I walked away with a nice bottle of white.

The wines we had there were good, and the shop was very nice! They have a lovely chocolate bar with pepper and salt, similar to Euphoria's but a bit more substantial.
Really, my only complaint here is that they didn't have anything close to their full range of wine available for tasting. Of the fourteen wines they have, they only had 4-5 "open" for tasting. Maybe it's just a function of not wanting to waste the wine, but I had several that I would have liked to try before buying them.
The staff was helpful, and the wines were decent - just keep in mind that you may have to buy some of the wine untasted to see whether you like it.Listed in: Valley Wineries

This cute little wine shop with friendly staff has some pretty amazing wines. They don't carry too many, but what they do have is awesome. I especially enjoyed the Viogner and the Merlot/Cab Sauv blend. They do charge for tasting, which I find annoying, and I usually only expect to see this in the larger wineries, but you get it back if you buy something. And with the wines they have available, you will want to buy something. I don't think they had anything that wasn't available for tasting when I went. There may have been one or two, but everything I wanted to try was open. The price point on these wines is high compared to Domaine de Chaberton, however. About $20 a bottle. The little tasting room is quaint.
They hold fun sounding events and wine and dinner parties which I hope to check out.Listed in: Count 'em!, Local Wine Tour

Reminded me of wine tasting in Oregon. Casual atmosphere with tables outside. $3 for tasting or $5 for a glass. Their Merlot is surprisingly good. I will definitely stop and have a glass outside next time I'm in town.
