1. Very filthy. Spider webs, layers of dust, smudges, garbages, grease, gums, sticky stuff, rusted metal, dirty carpet and some unidentified residue everywhere.
2. Only 1 bathroom. Located in the corner of the first floor. In mens room, there are only ONE wall toilet stall and ONE private toilet. The wall toilet is not even handicap-friendly. It is mounted rather high. But the restroom was clean though. However, they put a roll of toilet paper on the sink for drying hands. Not really pleasant.
3. People have rather poor manners in this library. They don't silence the phone. They talk on the phone loudly even in quiet areas. They blast music on earphones. They don't turn the volume down on laptops. I don't need to hear your damn email notification chimes!
4. Did I mention it's filthy?
5. Very depressing study environment - grey concrete walls, laminate desks and poorly lit with pale lights. No window to look out to refresh your mind. I don't know what it would feel like to be in prison, but I'm sure the atmosphere would be similar to this library.
6. Poorly ventilated. It smells really bad, especially with the dust that started piling since the beginning of book publications. You will get itchy stuffy nose and throat if you spend some time in this place.
7. Parking lot is so tight. Each individual spot is really narrow. Don't even think about parking at the library. Just park at the mall and walk.
8. Go blow your damn nose in the restroom..............
9. Internet is slow.
10. Librarian handles sh*tty books with white gloves, but they didn't bother to pick up the garbage in the front of the shelves?
11. I know you're hot, but keep your feet off the desk!

Toronto Public Library Fairview Branch really need a facelift. At least replaced those worn out arm chairs, tables looks like they got from a garage sale...
Full of students even in a Summer afternoon.. I don't mind the students but when they start letting their backpacks taking up the seats?!! Do they know about sharing??
Free WIFI... good if I can get a seat or somewhere with access to Electric outlets??Listed in: Libraries!!

This library is huge (but not as big as the one at North York Center) but it is frequented by lots of students since there are so many schools in the area. Most of the time they don't have what I'm looking for on the shelf unless take the time to reserve something online.
The staff here are less than helpful.
At least there is free Wi-Fi all the Toronto Public Libraries now.
