An awesome hidden Museum is located at the Toronto Police station.

Anyone can enter and you donate money on a "pay what you can" basis (which is fantastic. I say a $2-10 donation is appropriate)

The museum houses authentic Canadian artifacts; guns and shackles from the early 20th century, the progression of uniforms, images of past police officers, and more! Please see pics

There is so much history to the police station that I'm sure most will find something interesting during a tour.  If not, there is also a photo opt where you can sit in a police car and ride on a police motorcycle!

A small museum about the Toronto Police. It is cool because you get to see all the artifacts about the Toronto police. One can even sit-down in a police motorcycle for a  picture,  I am only wish the exhibitions were about  famous Toronto police cases and controversies. That will be make this museum awesome.

You probably haven't heard of the Toronto police museum, and that is fair I walked by the building everyday for years without knowing that Police Head Quarters houses a museum and a very nice little museum to boot.  The Toronto Police Museum is a diversion , it is not a day out or even an afternoon, but it is still very interesting.  It is one of the smallest museums I've ever been in but it packs a great deal of information into the little space.  What I find so great about the Toronto Police museum is that it is Toronto centric, and while it is prodominatly a museum about, obviously, police it is also about Toronto which as a long time resident I find fascinating.  I wouldn't set aside much more than an hour for this museum but it's worth the time, there is a mock up of an early 20th century police station, information on the biggest cases in Toronto history and a surprising amount of interactive features.  I would definitely recommend the museum when you are trying to figure out something to do that only takes an hour or so.
