I've stayed at enough hotels, Marriott was one of the few I haven't experienced yet and finally I can write a review for it.

Last weekend it was my friends birthday. She booked this hotel for the whole weekend. We got a really good cheap deal on Expedia. Check in was at 3pm Friday and checkout was 12pm Sunday. Our room had 2 double beds! If you want a fridge in the room, you have to order/book it before you check in. Large spacious room, nice bathroom except for the weird lighting which I hated and no fan in there either? Wth!  It's a shorter hotel, only 18 floors and the view in the room was facing the church or some older buliding so no CN tower view here or a nice one at that.

One good convienent thing about this hotel was the fact that it connects with the Sears at the Eaton Centre. It saves a lot of walking from having to go across Bay Street. On the second floor of the hotel and the entrance inside Sears is on the second floor of the ladies lingerie section, a lil past it tho.  Pool, gym and jacuzzi( which was a lame one, it wasnt hot and no bubbles!) are all on the 18th floor.

    Nice, fun weekend stay here!

There are a number of amazing restaurants within a 5 or 10 minute walk from the front door of this hotel (which is why I keep staying here)!

The hotel has views of an old church and on the other side has a view of the new city hall which is next to a cute ice skating rink.

The lounge has evening snacks and a bar where you pay for your own drinks. I would like to see more variety than one hot item and cheese & crackers each night in their lounge...They have a couple canadian beers too!

The staff is great too, always helpful!

We were given a room near the elevator and moved the next day to a much nicer room thanks to a attentive assistant manager.

Nice location close to the downtown mall and all the the tourist traps one visits while in Toronto.

Warning: if you leave anything of value in your valet parked automobile, please remember the valets are thieves at this hotel.

Would stay here again, but not use valet parking.

If you are a tourist, you could hardly ask for a better location to the major touristy spots. Some travellers don't consider that to be a desirable thing, think of it like staying at a hotel in times square but with just less stuff to see. I consider this superior to the Yorkville Marriott just for being an actual building and giving you the chance of a proper view albeit one of Bay St and Nathan Phillips.

The rooms here are larger than average and if you have stayed at other Marriott's you would know what sort of bedding amenities to expect. I've treated myself to breakfast in bed here and I really enjoyed it, it is actually not greatly expensive compared to other room service menu's for hotels of this calibre.

Overall very nicely maintained and the staff here are extremely friendly from front desk staff to housekeepers. I even got them to kindly upgrade my parents room to a suite since it was their anniversary.

It looses out on a star mainly for being not the prettiest building and the lack of a good view. Their pool is not large but the high floor location is appreciated, the fact that you need to walk through the gym (sort of) is not so appreciated.

But I highly recommend this hotel if its location fits your needs and with the subway right there you have the convenience of moving about anyway, and of course if you're in Toronto to shop, with the mall and Queen St right there this one will sure rock your boat.

My husband and I stayed here after bidding on priceline. We were pleased as we have a Marriott account.  When we first walked in we were blown away, very upscale look. The staff was very friendly and the room was great, nothing spectacular, but great nonetheless.  We ate a few times at the in hotel restaurant - the food was SUPERB! The staff was knowledgable and were able to point us in the direction of some great night life and other recommendations.  We ended up booking a second night there since we liked it so much.

The location is terrific as it is fairly centrally located.  We walked to the financial district, to the hockey hall of fame, and even the CN tower.  We did take a cab home after a night of too much drinking and it was nice that the cab driver knew right were the hotel was - not as fun when you're at a hinky dink hotel and have to try to give directions while drinking.

We will definitely stay at this hotel when we visit Toronto again, which we hope to soon!

Four thumbs up from my husband and I!

As for the wi-fi - we were disappointed that it was paid in the rooms, but it is free in the common areas so we would bring our laptop down at dinner or sit in the lounge.  It wasn't that much of a hassle and we didn't think it was a big con.

I've attended events, the past two years in a row, at the Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre Hotel, in the Grand Ballroom.

I'm part of the "social committee" at my office, which is way less cool than it sounds, and was therefore part of organizing this event. The committee is like Rob Ford and therefore has little actual power (Thank GOD, in the case of Rob Ford) and so we don't actually select the location. We select very minor things, like DJ services, menu, etc. And of course, the theme. This year was Mardi Gras. It's been done, I know, but beads and masks are cheap and cheapliness is next to Godliness at this firm.

So our firm event (which is strictly for the firm, no spouses, sad face) took place yesterday with many, many glitches. I won't really list them here because they were boring glitches, but the catering services staff didn't get many things right (including serving people with food allergies special dishes that wouldn't make them...um...how do you say? Die...and many other things). It was disappointing because no matter the budget, you know when there are 250+ people in the room eating and drinking and drinking and drinking that a significant chunk of change is being spent and it's sad to see that spending be in vain and be the subject of regret later on.

Hotel banquet food, no matter the hotel, seems to always be the same. Chicken, roast beef carving station, dessert buffet. It's no wonder why the City of Brampton (where my mother works) just holds their holiday party at the Mandarin. Because really, at the end of the day, the food is ok and most people go for the dessert anyway.

I also feel like I'm at a wedding no matter the type of event, when it's held in a hotel function room. Except for in the case of yesterday, when there was a convention on cord blood banking and breastfeeding going on in the next room and lots of pamphlets about it on the floors. Mmmm......banquet dinner, cord blood, dessert buffet, breastfeeding.....amuse bouche, alright.

For a city like this, you would think that the larger hotel chains would take note of what constitutes a "good" event and act accordingly, but it seems even the Marriott doesn't care enough to step up the quality of the menu, the decor or anything else for that matter.

What's more unfortunate is that by virtue of it's location, this place will continue to receive banquet business without really having to work for it. Ah well.

While in Toronto this is my hotel of choice, I visit the city about 6-8 times per year.  The hotel is well placed in realtion to the business district and central town (shopping backing onto the Eaton Mall and restaurants).

Staff are friendly and attentive.  Rooms nice size and if you luck out may get an attached-living room, always clean (a negative is the $16 wi-fi per day OUCH).  Fitness room is 24 hours.  Concierge room is downstairs breakfast and early evening snacks are good.  In house bar is pretty nice.  Look and feel of the hotel is preety upmarket.

Nice spot looking forward to my next stay.

I was at this hotel early this year and then back again a couple weeks ago.  Both times I've been very happy with the hotel and the staff.  They were renovating the lobby early this year, but last time it was complete and was completed in the new Marriott lobby style.  This new style has gotten rid of the big desk where you check in and instead uses smaller kiosk style desks.  It gives the hotel a new, modern feel.

On to the hotel itself.  The hotel was very clean and the rooms were well appointed, including a very large wide screen HDTV in the room.  There was nothing to really complain about on the room, however the connection to the Eaton Centre is through Sears, so you still have to go outside sometimes if you want to get to a restaurant in the Eaton Centre after Sears has closed.

The bed was nice and comfortable with plenty of support and a good firm pillow.  The positioning of the bed prevented much noise from intruding from the hallway, which is a big plus when you spend as much time in hotels as I do.

The location of this hotel was excellent.  Attached to the Eaton Centre and around the corner from the "Times Square" of Toronto.  Plenty of shopping and eating options within a block or two from the hotel.  It is a bit of a walk to the Bell Centre, but not so bad as to prevent one from walking to see a Raptors or Maple Leafs game.

Being a platinum member of the Marriott program granted me access to the executive lounge which included breakfast pastries and drinks.  It was your usual inexpensive breakfast fare, but for dinner there is the restaurant in the hotel, which was excellent.

I've come here a few times for business and love this hotel for the excellent and welcoming staff and the comfortable studio style rooms.   It's a key location for the downtown area, the mall if you need it and subway.

They have a 24hr fitness room.  A pool and spa (open till 11 pm) but on my last stay, the spa was drained.   A business center and some meeting rooms, along with a circular lounge in the lobby area and bar/restaurant lounge for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The staff from valet, concierge, front desk, restaurant, hotel manager, and maid service is excellent and accommodating.

My only complaints about the hotel are the $16 charge to use in room internet service.  If I wasn't coming here on business, I may consider staying other options for that alone.  There is free wifi in the lobby though.   Despite having all HDTV flat screen tvs in the room, the service is still not HD.

A great comfortable stay and I'll be back

Marriott is my favorite hotel. I always check their availability first above everyone else because I find that their prices are reasonable enough that it won't bust your budget and you are guarantee to have a pleasant stay... whether it's the customer service or accommodation itself.

I came here with my parents. We were on a marathon tour along the east coast from Buffalo, NY to Niagara Falls, CAN to Toronto, CAN. We stayed at Marriott in each cities and by far this is the best Marriott during our trip. It was super nice that my mom was worried there was a mistake on our daily charge. In the room there was a note of $500/day rate for damages and my mom was about to flip.

The hotel is located within walking distance to the Eaton centre and the bus terminal. It took a few hops and a skip but it is also not far down from Chinatown. This is important as there's hardly any places to eat at night.

When we arrived the lobby exuded a nice fragrance well-designed with a mix of red and yellow colors. It was designed for efficiency. The designer walls behind the CSR are actually storages and cabinets. It is also furnished with very nice, big, and comfortable couches. The hotel lobby offers free internet service for the public so I saw a few kids would hang out until late night.

The customer service was also excellent. We arrived hours before the check in time from a long bus ride from Niagara Falls.... and we were so tired. They allowed us to check in early at no extra charge.

The room has the same quality as all Marriott hotels so we were very happy. I believe that this room offers free internet service at the time.

If you exit from the side of the hotel - it opens to the Eaton Centre directly. We came during the Canada Independence day so the streets were packed and there were vendors all around. It was very festive. So, it helps to have such convenience.

The customer service extended to the time we had to leave. Our bus was leaving during red-eye and they offered a free stay until 3 pm and store our suitcases as long as we needed them to. So we wasted the remainder of 3 hours revisiting the Eaton Centre and camping at their beautiful lobby. And we walked to the bus terminals with our suitcases. It was a doable walk for my senior parents. And, for us... that made all the difference in the world.

This hotel left a positive impression and I wouldn't hesitate to return again. :)

The bed is so comfortable and the bathroom was huge. Location of the hotel is very central with the subways and shops downstairs.

Marriott Eaton Centre is a great hotel in the heart of Toronto - literally, steps away from everything and in the most lively areas of the city.  The service was wonderful and the staff was very knowledgeable.  The rooms were nice and clean, but a little on the small side and nothing special.  They didn't have free wifi and we weren't too excited about the $26 a night you have to pay for parking, but as you're close to everything, you can just park your car and forget about it for awhile.  The concierge was amazing and can point you in the right direction or provide you with information on just about everything!  He was professional, warm, and incredibly informative - one of the best concierges we've seen and a big plus for this Marriott!!  Thanks so much for the tips about the family public transit passes, museums, and restaurants!

This hotel was one of the nicest hotels I have been to. The Club Lounge is located downstairs and instead of having a smaller breakfast they share the buffet with the restaurant. To me this makes a better solution as the club members get a better breakfast and the hotel doesn't waste any food. The staff was very friendly and we had a wonderful night's sleep.
