Attended Jersey Boys and My Fair Lady. Lovely theater with a modern atmosphere. Acoustics are excellent. The seat is comfortable and nicely spaced out. There is enough room to stretch your legs and move your body around. I had a pleasant experience when I was there.
But let's face it. This theater cannot match the substantial aura and majestic feel of downtown theaters like Princess of Wales, Elgin and Canon. Going to the theater is a special event, but Toronto Centre for the Arts has the disadvantage of being located in a neighborhood that lacks colorful and vibrant tone. It is buried under condominiums and city facilities. There isn't a decent place to hang out and dine before/after the show. It's a shame since the theater is one of the best in terms of ergonomics, aesthetics and technical aspects. I live quite close to the theater (Yonge/York Mills), and I guess that adds to the lack of adventurous special-ocassion excitement.
It is a joy to walk around the hallway and lobby though. It has spacious wide-open decor with modern design. Not something you can find in crammed crowded theater lobbies in downtown Toronto.
The theater has its own underground parking lot. The beautiful part is that the security doesn't really check whether you had purchased enough time. They just check for the parking permit on the dashboard, not the details.
If you happen to catch a show at this theater, dine at Miller Tavern or Auberge du Pommier near Yonge/York Mills instead of going to Moxie's, Milestones, Baton Rouge, etc. It's only a several minute drive from the theater. -

Despite being a significant TTC ride from the downtown core where almost all major theatres are located, the Toronto Centre for the Arts is very beautiful, from the outside to the spacious lobby as well as the seating area.
Nothing special to be said about the way the box office is set up, they have a small store that I've never been inside, but I prefer it to the random desks that some theatre's have that sell show souvenirs that contribute to line ups during breaks.
My only experience here is with Dancap productions and as of late their line ups are pretty solid.
I've been lucky enough to sit on the first floor each of my visits here and on all occasions the view from my seat has been great regardless of the fact that I was sitting a little off center.
The staff are friendly and professional, and the bar menu is not ludicrously over priced, but not cheap by any means.
With a Starbucks on the way to the TTC station to provide the late commute back with caffeine, despite the distance from the downtown core the Toronto Centre for the Arts should definitely be high up on one's list of theatres to check out in Toronto.Listed in: Not Your Typical Evening…

I've been here a few times for corporate events and for the TSO.
I came here to see a TSO performance. The TSO doesn't disappoint so not much to say there.
The venue itself is nice and a bit smaller compared to RTH so it's somewhat more intimate. They brew Starbucks coffee here and I guess I got a bad batch since it was sour. My friend and I both couldn't finish it. Ho hum.
If you're planning a corporate event here, I would advise that you should plan for some lacking labour assistance. My old coworker who planned an event had issues with the union labour as some of them are specified to work "front of the house" versus the back. When a worker realized it wasn't for his area of the house, he literally put everything back on the floor citing that he can't do it even though he was just sitting reading the paper beforehand. *No comment*Listed in: Getting Cultured

I've been here twice now... Twice to watch Jersey Boys. I swear - any seat in this theatre is amazing! The first time I watched Jersey Boys, I was in row Z, and this time I was in row N. Both really amazing expereinces.
Seats aren't bad, sound quality not bad either! -

Probably the un-snobbiest, most comfortable venue I've ever seen a show in. Went here to see Jersey Boys and enjoyed a great show from some great seats.
We had a bit of trouble getting here, mostly because I suck with maps and we had a bad cab driver. But once we finally got in, we were seated in less than 10 seconds and the show started right away. Ushers and staff were all so friendly and helpful, bottled water during intermission was only $2! (It's sad that $2 for water is a deal, but compared to the $3 or $4 I'm used to paying, it is!).
Nice washrooms, nice seats, nice stage and nice sound. No complaints about this place, although the fact that I loved Jersey Boys probably helped. It's a bit of a walk to get back to the subway, so I'd recommend either driving or cabbing it (with a good driver) if you can.
They've got lots of parking and an underground entrance to the Centre so you can avoid the cold. The same underground entrance goes to the subway, but it looks like it closes relatively early (around 9:30) so it would be useful for the way there, but was no help to us when the show ended at 11pm. -

A nice theater for Toronto. Althought somewhat "institutional" in character, I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort level and class. I did not test the washrooms, so I cannot provide a critique on that.
I would say that most seats are good. Sound quality was fairly good too.
Enjoy the local arts in Toronto at the Toronto Center for the Arts. -

I have seen Fosse, Sunset Boulevard, My Fair Lady and Jersey Boys in the Main Stage. This is surely one of the most spacious, comfortable and welcoming venues in the country. The grand glass lobby with it's wonderful sweeping staircase makes you feel like million bucks. Every detail is excellent from the comfortable seats to the excellent sight lines and very fine acoustics.

Great venue. Saw Jersey Boys here, and every seat was a good view.
Well worth going from Tues-Fri where any seat in the balcony, first to last row are only $35. Thats 50% off the regular price for a weekend show!! -

As far as the theatre-going experience goes, nothing can compare to our city's historic, downtown theaters. The character & design in the ceilings alone gives me shivers! BUT... the performances at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, including the currently playing JERSEY BOYS are fantastic! It's worth spending the money (and there are many ways to get cheap tickets online) to embrace the fantastic culture we have in this city. There is nothing like a great musical to raise your energy!!
