Review from Jon L.
Top Gun Sushi is an all-you-can-eat restaurant, but with a twist. The twist being that you order the items that you want from the menu. The good thing about this is that your order is made by request and fresher. At dinner, there are two different price points to choose from. I chose from the regular menu. They have a decent sushi roll selection, along with hot food items like agedashi tofu, gyoza, and BBQ salmon belly which I liked.
There are a few things about the setup is that it is a bit tough including figuring how much to an order at a time so I would suggest asking your server based on your table size. Also orders sometimes gets lost as server have mobile electronic order pads to place requests from and sometimes the items you order don't always come in the order you would like. This is how I ended up eating a deep fried banana with chocolate syrup before a piece of BBQ salmon belly. All in all though, I would recommend Top Gun for its menu offerings and freshness. -

Me and my family have relatives up in Vancouver, and we're always dreaming of Top Gun everytime we go. This is an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant upstairs and you have the view of the river....it's beautiful. And the restaurant is pretty spacious too.
Oh my goodness...they have the best sushi I have ever tasted. I am hooked on the spicy tuna rolls, and baked oysters with motoyaki sauce (a creamy cheese sauce) on top. When we went to Vancouver this year, this is the 1st place we went out to for dinner, and my 12 year old nephew couldn't move anymore after because he was in such a food shock! He loved the salmon sashimi.
And the service is pretty fast too.
I can't wait till I come back next year. Why can't there be a Top Gun in the states? Canadians, eat your heart out...you won't regret it!Listed in: best Japanese food places

Well, first off, how can you not love the name of this place? Every time I even think of it, I imagine a pre-crazed Tom Cruise playing shirtless volleyball while humming "Highway to the Danger Zone."
OK, about the sushi. It's all-you-can-eat sushi and it's pretty good. The lunch special is about $11, which gets you up to two hours of eatin'. The fish practically bursts out of the nori rolls, and it's good fish. The servers are very fast as well; they keep the tea coming and they're not pulling the typical AYCE trick of disappearing whenever you want more food.
The restaurant is on the second floor of New Westminster Quay, so there's a nice view of the Fraser River while you eat. Don't bother with the rest of the Quay, though (except perhaps to finish off with a beverage at the Paddlewheeler); it's a sad sight to see these days. -

First time it was great for AYCE dinner, but 2nd time the quality did suffer, not sure why. It isn't cheap either $20+ but the selection is a little better than most. You get a few of the dirty fraser river if that is consolidation. On the bright side the place has lots of tables and service is quite quick.

The second time was not a charm, I went to Top Gun Sushi the food quality was not the same as the first time . I don't know what happened. The first time I gave it 4 stars but this time I give it two star for fishy tasting tuna sushi and over all poor quality food really disappointing. I am not sure if I will come here again.
