Just noticed that this new pet grooming spot opened up right next to my beloved Dave's Fruit & Vegetable Market making it easy for me to pop over today for some fresh veggies and the dreaded nail-clipping. The owner was working away on a very fuzzy client when I arrived but said she'd be glad to help me out when she wrapped up in about ten minutes. Piece of cake!
While you can tell Top Dog is definitely all about the grooming with what look like custom-built doggy baths, drying areas, and everything else you need when you're paraded with dirty dogs, there are some treats, bags of Fromm dog food, toys, and even specialty products like the Thundershirt.
The clipping was easy-breezy without too much resistance from the puppies except when she tried to take one of them herself by the leash. But, with a quick adjustment involving me holding my dog like a baby, we were off to a much better start and a quick finish. I really appreciated that she took multiple small cuts in order to make sure she didn't hit any quicks in the process, making my life a heck of a lot easier as a result!
Now, this isn't anything new to anyone who owns a dog but I don't think I'll ever get over how much nail-clippings cost. Not that I can complain until I'm ready to start doing them myself at home (which won't ever happen). The bill came to about $34 which is never that fun...but hey - the job's done and I didn't have to do it!Listed in: Discovering Dartmouth, Yuppie Pet Owners Unite!
