Great food, better than you might expect. Server was friendly and accommodated our request to split our entree in half with no problem.

Kids entrees were of good quality as well.  Not the usual bland variations of adult meals.

Stayed in Banff this past weekend and decided to stop by this place for brunch after searching through the Yelp app for suggestions.

We walked into the restaurant without fully processing in our minds how close it was to closing time (our fault, we were hungry) and right away the server says "You're cutting it pretty close" and let's out a huge sigh as she went to grab menus.  I apologized and then asked if she had any suggestions for other breakfast places nearby, to which she replied "No, it's fine" rather sharply while throwing menus down on a table.  At this point, I decided we weren't going to eat here and told her to forget about it and we will go somewhere else.  As we were exiting she yelled "No, it's fine" one more time, but I just said "No thanks, we will eat somewhere else" and walked out.

I've worked in retail and service before, so I understand the frustration when someone is walking in near the end of your shift.  It was an honest mistake and we were fine with going somewhere else, we even asked politely for another suggestion but her reaction was full of so much attitude that I instantly did not want to stay.  She definitely could have handled the situation better, I will not be stopping by here again if the service is like this all the time.

Tooloulou's Bistro & Bar is the restaurant in the Rundlestone Lodge. I discovered it last summer when looking for somewhere to have breakfast other than Bruno's. I was pretty happy with it then, and went again this past weekend and was very happy with it again.

Their breakfast menu is quite large with lots of choices - standard bacon and eggs, french toast and omelettes, as well as crepes, waffles, skillets, benny's, and hash brown scrambles. Sometimes I just want bacon and eggs, but other times it's nice to have so many choices. I've had crepes and the hash brown skillets, and been happy with both. The portions are big and the food is satisfying. Prices are reasonable - around $10 for almost everything on the menu.

Service is casual and friendly. They are open for breakfast and dinner, and closed midday. Although the restaurant is in a hotel, it's never been busy when I've been there. There used to be a different (worse) restaurant in this spot, so I hope this one stays around.

Food and service were both amazing! The food is of top quality with big serving sizes but you don't leave feeling sick from oily food. The service was also amazing. There was one waitress on for about 6 tables but she handled it all with patience and grace and never made it appear the she was stressed or rushed. Beautiful night out and good escape from the chilly winter night.

We went for breakfast on the recommendation of my father-in-law.  The food itself was pretty good but the service was slow and with 2 young kids, slow service is definitely not a good thing.

My daughter had the flapjack which had a nice crisp on the outside and fluffy center. I had the spinach, cheddar and ham omelette which unfortunately arrived without the ham and a big pile of spinach.  The omelette itself was pretty good once I removed half of the spinach.  My meal came with 'real' homefries - pieces of cut up potato pan fried.  Unfortunately the potatoes were cold by the time they arrived so they weren't great.  I still prefer them to the french fry equivalent though and appreciate the kitchen's effort.  The highlight of the meal was definitely the mutligrain toast. My husband and I both had two slices with our meal and still we were fighting over who would get to eat my son's piece.

My stomach is still talking about those ribs many hours later. The waitress during dinner hours is super nice. Order Canada's best beer: Sleeman. Yes, this is one of the better restaurants in Banff, that gives you quality for the price you order.
