Went to Tony's for the the first time on a recent Thursday evening. When we arrived around 7pm, the place was packed with people - young families, older families, friends - everyone was drinking, eating, and having a good time. It took a while to get seated because there was no hostess and the waitresses were running around like mad, but once seated we were attended to promptly and regularly.
The menu has a few salads and starters, lots of pizza choices (you can also create your own), and lots of pasta choices. I think there were a few meat dishes as well but I didn't pay much attention to those because that wasn't what I was there to eat.
On tap, they only have Okanagan (not sure which ones) and Traditional - it looked like there was a better bottled selection (including Peroni). We started with a house salad to split - iceburg lettuce chunks, sliced olives, crumbled feta, wedges of tomatoes, and thinly-sliced red onions in a very tangy Italian dressing. Good, but definitely too much dressing. Very good size for two people - at $8, not sure if that was the cost for two - I would deem it on the expensive side if it was only supposed to be for one person.
We ordered a large Palace Special pizza ($24.50). It seemed larger than the listed 14" when it arrived! Loaded with mushrooms, pepperoni, green peppers, sausage, onions, meatballs, and salami. I couldn't tell the difference between the salami and pepperoni, but liked both. I wasn't a huge fan of the sausage/meatballs - couldn't tell what was what as they both looked and tasted like unseasoned cooked ground beef. The onions are sliced in very thin rounds, which I liked - big, uncooked onion chunks are not for me! The thin crust was fabulous - crispy but slightly doughy still, and very tasty. I can't compare it to an authentic NYC slice, but it definitely was able to hold up all the toppings (unlike Famoso's even thinner crust). The two of us left only two pieces.
They accept credit cards. It's a nice casual restaurant with a real home-y feeling to it. Lots of people coming in for take-out so I would assume that they do a good job with that. I would definitely go back to try their other pizzas and pastas.
By the way, it's located on the south side of 111 Ave, kind of easy to miss if you are driving east on 111, as it is tucked next to a building that comes right out to the street.

good food and drinks at a great value. recently moved to McCauley and have been to Tonys several times since. Excellent service and its been packed nearly every time we've come.  love the open kitchen, the decor could use a refresh but it has a nice rustic charm.  The Cannelloni and  the Carbonara are fantastic. it  doesn't look like much from the outside, but take a chance on Tonys and you wont be disappointed.

The best damn pizza in Edmonton!  Service is superb ... On a busy night, you can't escape the feeling that the entire place is staffed with young Al Pacinos, dressed in ties, pinstripe aprons and all.  The food is, in a word, delicious.  True New York-style service, Sicilian/Napolitano-style food.  Light crust, not at all greasy or heavy, and all made with the freshest ingredients.  The dough is fresh and made in the old style: by tossing it.  The herbs are fresh.  The preparation: painstakingly perfect.  Highly recommended.

Tony's is great anytime.  We were seated without a reservation on a busy Saturday night.  The place was packed so we waited at the bar for a few minutes while they fixed a table for four.  The staff bent over backwards to please.  Hubby and I shared the best capriccio pizza in the world.  My buddies exclaimed that their red sauce was the best they'd ever tasted. Daily drink specials.  Very friendly staff. The chef came out to make sure everything was O.K. Great prices and large portions.
I need to visit there more often.

Best pizza in Edmonton. If you like italian thin crust pizza, you're going to love this place! Ya ya, Famoso's is good, but this is better. They have a lot of good things on the menu, but of course the pizza is what makes them famous. Everyone I have brought there has absolutley loved it.

Best pizza in the city - hands down. Nothing beats the thin, crispy crust and plentiful toppings. Original, traditional Italian thin crust pizza.

A newspaper where I work holds volunteer appreciation events at Tony's on a regular basis. It has a warm, family-oriented atmosphere to it. The staff are very friendly, and eager to please.

Tony's also serves fresh, delicious pasta. I had the best marinara sauce of my life here. And I shared a tomato salad with a friend and loved it - and I don't even like tomatoes!

I have a friend who has a gluten allergy, and Tony's serves a couple of gluten-free options for pasta. One time the dish was not up to my friend's taste, so the kitchen took it back and fixed it up to make sure she was happy with it.

I never hesitate to recommend a restaurant that really values its customers.

One of my favourite pizza places in town, Tony's is a great place to get together with friends.  Walking into this place, the aromas wafting from the kitchen let you know that you are in for a great meal.  The salads are delicious, the pastas are cooked to perfection, and the pizzas are exceptional.  I really like both the Margherita and Original New York Style pizzas.  Everything is seasoned perfectly with lots of garlic and other flavours melding together for your delectable delight.  I love this place.  And I especially love sitting on the kitchen side where you can watch them tossing the dough.  Request seating on that side.

This is the most amazing pizza restaurant in the city! It's a family owned and run restaurant. It is a casual restaurant but pretty classy.

If you're seated on the kitchen side of the restaurant, you can watch them toss the pizza dough in the air.

The food tastes remarkable. They put freshly ground garlic on the pizza and I believe they make their own sausage. They also have a nice selection of pastas. It's a licensed restaurant but kid friendly.

The prices are very reasonable. They don't have a delivery service but you can order pizza to be picked up.

There is one pizza joint in Winnipeg that I absolutely LOVE and I feel like it has ruined my pizza experience forever because nothing else can ever compare.

Since I live in the South end this was a far trek to go for pizza, but I heard some good things so I decided to check it out with some friends. We decided to split a large pep and cheese. Not a very exciting choice, but it's a classic. It was decent enough. I wish they would also invest in larger wine glasses. I felt like I was drinking out of a teacup.

The best part of the whole experience happens on the left side of the restaurant so try to get a table on that side. You can actually see into the kitchen and the cooks are tossing up the dough like you see on TV. It was very cool and distracted me from the table's conversation many times.

I don't think that I will drive that far for pizza again and my hunt for the best slice in Edmonton is still on!

I popped into Tony's on the way home today to pick up some take-out. I heard the food was good and I like the look of the place from the outside. It's been around for years and seems to keep steady business. I stopped on this particular day because it was minus 14 and they had Christmas decorations up inside. It looked so warm and inviting, and the thought of taking out a thin crust and salad and not having to cook was tempting. I walked in, and fell in love with this place.

It's dimly lit, warm and ambiant. Candles cover the tables and Christmas music was playing softly. The servers and manager all made eye contact and I was welcomed and given a menu to look over. I sat and took my time browsing, and enjoyed the space. I could tell that the people who work here all like each other and are proud to work in such a place. It has the vibe of a good, honest, hard-working family restaurant, with class and homemade goodness as part of their time-tested recipe.

I settled on the lasagna al forno with homemade noodles, beef and fresh mozzarella, topped with their pomodoro sauce, and the chef salad with roma tomatos, fresh basil, bocconcini cheese and olive oil. The lasagna was extra cheesy and delicious and came with fresh Italian buns. The salad was awesome, really garlicky and the tomatoes had stewed a while in the basil, oil and garlic. I'd definitely get both again. I waited about 25 minutes for my food to go, but I enjoyed being there and will have to go back for dinner. The maitre'd told me that reservations are recommended on weekends 'cause it gets busy.

Visiting Edmonton to meet my girl friend.  So i looked up yelp to help me find restaurants and with the limited number of reviews, Tony's sounded like an interesting place with good food.

Turned out to be a disappointment though.  The ambiance and atmosphere was quite dead and made it no fun at all.  The food was even a bigger diappointment.  Their Tony's special pretzel on the menu sounds really good but tastes not even half as good.  Being vegetarian, we ordered the veggie pizza and that turned out to be a disappointment.  Perhaps my expectations for pizza have been inflated due to Tony's in Boise, ID.  But this place was definitely a disappointment and would not recommend for groups or romantic dinner or for anything for that matter.
