Review from Kimberley K.
Growing up, I was never a big pizza fan. However, my highschool boyfriend was a waiter/busboy at this pizza joint. I cannot speak for the gourmet pizzas that they offer but I can tell you that the panzerotti is probably the best mouth-watering, cheesy goodness I've ever tasted. Their sauce is absolutely delicious and must contain some secret ingredient that induces tastebud euphoria.
The decor is a bit shabby. A darkly lit dining room plays host to red glass candles, paper place mats with an Italian map, tacky murals on the walls and career waitresses that are well past their prime.
I would recommend skipping the dine-in option and ordering your food to go via the separate take-out entrance or having it delivered hot and fresh! -
Review from Jason W.
A London icon in panzerotti and pizza, but lacks everything else. My family had been going to Tony's since I was wearing diapers (30ish years) and we have always enjoyed the panzerotti and pizzas, largely ordering take out. My family recently went for a get together here and the word "horrible" doesn't quite capture the experience.
Food: The panzerotti was excellent, no question about it. Everyone else's food at the table was rated as very good. My panzerotti was perfectly cooked with the dough being light and fluffy, the toppings and cheese plentiful as they have always been. The food for 12 people took almost an hour to get to us and came at various increments - it could have been more coordinated. We received a couple of wrong orders at our table
Service: This is where Tony's gets an "F", it's probably the worse service I have EVER had at any restaurant in Canada or the US I have eaten at. The waitress looked like she didn't give a rats butt about her customers and should have found a less social job 20 yeas ago; sorry to inconvenience you for my dinner. After being seated, we waited 15 minutes before our server arrived, who wanted to take our order before realizing that the whole table didn't have menus. At one point I asked a question as she was passing and she just held her index finger up (as to say wait) and kept walking, returning shortly with no apology. As mentioned above, one of the pizzas our table ordered was brought out as a panzerotti, no apology or compensation on was offered, we actually had to seek out the manager to have him remove it from the bill - ridiculous. Thankfully, there was no automatic gratuity charged for a large table, it would have been one more thing we needed to do to fight our way out of that restaurant. When we paid our bill at he front, no one even asked how it was or said thank you for coming.
Atmosphere: It depends on your point of view here. Since we have been ordering from Tony's for so many years, and I remember a lot of good times with this place, I think of it as comforting. However, if I walked it to this place with no history, I would call it dirty and dated. The drop ceiling is dirty and needs to been cleaned, the Venetian plaster/ stucco walls and lighting are horribly dated.
Parking: Depending on the night, there is usually plenty to the side of the restaurant, on the weekends it can get scarce.
This place is saved only by its food and unique for probably the best pazerotti in the area (depending on your taste), but I would never recommend dining in, I wont ever again. This place rests on its reputation and It's owners need a reality check. -

The price of the pasta is astronomical for take-out at $20 per order and I didn't feel the quality represented the price charged as it was really basic. The pizza was more reasonable at $22 for a Medium with nice toppings.
Maybe eating in would make it worth the price for some of the signature dishes as this interior had a lovely and warm feeling. I'll try again and go in as it has been around for so long and I have heard great things from others. -

Tony's panzerotti's are by far some of the best in London! They are absolutly massive and a large deluxe can easily fill up two people. The sauce you get with the panzerotti is amazing as well, it's so good I could drink it, lol. The only problem with Tonys is the waitresses who are like 65 years old and take forever to take your order, and the prices can be a little expensive for the dinning experience. On the other hand the panzerotti's are made pretty quickly though for the size and of course they taste amazing! Good place for pizza and panzerotti's but I'm not to sure about the other Italian food on the menu.

History
Established in 1961
Antonio Ianni came to Canada in 1953 with not much more that the clothes on his back & the ambition to make a life for himself in the this new world. After several years of working in other restaurants, he realized that what London needed was a place that served food that represented the cooking that his mother used to make back home. So in late 1961, Tony's opened it's door for the first time. Now expanded to 4 locations to meet the needs a growing city, Tony's is a London institution that is known far & wide for great pizza, pasta and especially the one of kind panzarottis (our signature dish). Whether dine in, take out or delivery, Tony's serves great original style Italian comfort food. As on of our regulars put it, "There is no other place in the world quite like Tony's! "
