Absolutely depressing experience I had there today. I made the unfortunate decision to purchase a prepaid online social coupon to get $30 worth of "gourmet" meats cheeses and pastas for $15 (sounded like a good deal) without knowing what this place was all about. The place was dirty, the food packaging was covered in dust, many many items were expired, or close to their expiry dates, or just looked "off" so of course I opted not to purchase any meats or cheeses just in case their quality and freshness was similar to the other non-perishable inventory, and I just walked away with some dried pasta, coffee, chocolate and soft drinks that actually had expiry dates in over a year rather than the next month or two as was the case with many other items I saw. I didn't feel I saved any money with the social discount, as I could have purchased the same or comparable items at Superstore for about $15 anyways.
They have old dirty plain paper signs half torn saying "free coffee or tea with $20 purchase"... it sounds nice and welcoming but who would want that unless you see the place is clean and has fresh coffee or tea, with a high turnover.
I read the other review saying support local family run business. Well in my opinion, I support businesses that are clean, have good atmosphere, fresh products, and offer good value. I will not support local businesses that have low standards of cleanliness and try to sell items that are overpriced with many near expiry.
Lesson learned on the social coupon sites, they are probably not always about group discounts, but also possibly about liquidation. I think this place might be going out of business, it sure feels like it... I walked out of there feeling like they are trying to rid the remaining old inventory as it was so sparse and the shelves were half empty. -

I bought a groupon for this deli and just availed myself of some of their catering. Hugely disappointing. Chinzy, massively overpriced and truly disappointing. I put two groupons (total value of $60), plus another $20 (including tax) towards the catering and got one meat platter with very little meat, plus an "antipasto" platter, that was three kinds of olives, some marinated mushrooms and some marinated onions plus about 15 savory crackers (price $40). I feel like they inflated their prices because of the groupons. The quality seems okay, but I feel really angry about being ripped off. I don't think I got anywhere close to $70 worth of food. I will not patronize this deli again.
