First time in Banff and I decided to hit this place up for a late nite bite and a beer. This place is a-ok. It sits right on Banff Ave so it's on the main drag for plenty of people watching. They have a decent selection of taps, nothing really special. A lot of the standards like Rickards and Keiths. Also the food is decent. Again nothing special. They had a pretty good soup that day. A steak chowder.
My only complaint was that the service was a bit slow. Otherwise it was a decent pub. -

Just about every time I'm in Banff, I end up at Tommy's for lunch or supper. It's a cool tiny bar tucked away in a basement off the main strip sidewalk. I've always had a good time here.
Their menu is a little weak (not a lot of choices), but there's always something good on it somewhere. But mostly, I like Tommy's to just grab a beer and sit on their patio. You can usually end up meeting a lot of interesting people here....
