Review from Reena M.
The restaurant changed owners and now it's called Chad Thai. The owners are super nice and are actually from Thailand (including the chef). They have a larger menu, I think. The prices are still reasonable. They did renovate the space and it looks a lot classier than a "hole-in-the-wall."
The nicest part was that they new to be careful with my fish allergies. After I placed the order, saying no fish sauce, they called me back and asked if Oyster Sauce was okay.
I will definitely be coming back here.Listed in: Dining in Burnaby

This is my absolute favorite hole in the wall takeout thai place. I've eaten in once, but with 15 min prep time, I love calling ahead, picking up dinner and curling up at home since the heating is a bit chilly in the winter and the floors are slippery with my heels!
Favorite dishes? Tofu pad thai - soooo yum... Green curry, Panang Curry, the green bean with chicken (can't remember what this is called) and the broccoli with chicken in peanut sauce. Don't love the cashew chicken as it's got too many carrots and you can see from my other reviews I'm annoyed easily by cheap filler veggies.
Service is always good and this is one place where they know you by face and phone # -- "oh you're the sweet girl calling" ...
have yet to get a freebie for repeat business, or have them get my name right on an order, but they get the food right, and it's DELICIOUS every time...
Lose a point because I WANT to eat in, just the ambiance is too cold in the fall/winter/spring, and I haven't tried it in the summer yet.
I'm here twice a month though, so this says something -

I had such high hopes! Only because a fellow foodie friend raised and born in South East Asia claims they make one mean pad thai. Unfortunately they failed my pad thai test. I had asked for 'thai spicy', the friendly guy/owner said 'no prob', out came a plate of noodles soaking in sauce and I mean SOAKING like it was noodle soup! And it packed no heat and tasted almost pre-made. Did I say it was soaking in sauce. I had to ask for chillies to kick it up a bit.
I did try their tod mun pla appy which were deep fried fish cakes and those were ok but still I was disappointed. I am going to call my foodie friend tomorrow and call her a liar! -

This is one really good Thai place. I prefer coming here for their lunch special for around $8-9. Otherwise I usually come for dinner with a group of friends, especially if they are doing their order $80 or more and get a free gift. (Although usually that happens closer to Christmas.)

We just happen to stop by the restaurant and we've decided to give this place a try. I have to say that the pad Thai was tasty. I'm a sauce person so their pad Thai had enough sauce in there for us. It's spicy enough and it's quite flavourful. We ordered the curry, but unfortunately it taste very much the same as some store-bought curry from superstore. I quite enjoyed the overall experience and we will probably go back to try other things on th menu.

Favourite Thai place in Burnaby. Great, friendly service. Quality food on the cheap. The decor was pretty bad a few years ago, but its been getting better and better. Be sure to put your receipt in the draw. I think that most people don't b/c i've won it something like one out of every five times.
