I can definitely say that it's old school grime in this place, which for a diner type of place is fine.
I got the $9.99 10oz New York with mashed potato and veggies cause I was streaking thru the neighborhood and it was not outstanding, but it was fine. A little too salty for me, but the value was solid.
It seems they are really pushing the under $10 menu. -

Just bad. We came before a concert at PNE Forum since the bar we were suppose to meet up at was full. This experience was soo bad, it was hilarious and we couldn't believe what was happening. Ok, so here it goes:
- Server didn't have a notepad, so took our orders on a menu
- Menus had Christmas messages on it
- Table was missing cutlery. Staff said there was no more clean cutlery available
- Hair was in my girlfriend's lasagne - we sent it back
- Hair was in short ribs - we sent it back
- Customer was complaining to the Chinese "staff woman" about a 50 minute wait. Customer says, "Can I speak to the manager?" "Staff woman" says, "There's no manager here" ... but that "staff woman" was the Manager.
- Servers are busy, but purposely ignoring us as we ask for drinks
- We're all done and ready to leave. We overhear customer say, "Excuse me, there's hair in my food."
Absolutely ridiculous. No idea how they're still in business.
Management needs to take it upon them to create better processes, retrain staff, have more servers on duty and create consistency in their operations. -

There is a lot of potential here for a really good old fashioned diner experience. But they're going to need to make a few changes in order for that to happen.
I would start by repairing the floors. They look very dirty (you know those old, cracked tiles that look gross no matter how often you mop them? Those are the ones I'm talking about). I might also print some new menus, or at the very least, power-wash the old ones. Ditto for plates and cups.
The food was not good. Eggs and potatoes were at once too salty and too soggy. The prices were ok but nothing special (two simple breakfasts, one coffee and one chocolate milk came to $20).
With a small capital investment and some minor kitchen changes, this place could be serving a killer diner breakfast. But they just aren't there yet. -

Very busy night for them when I came. I was heading to the Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper concert nearby, and had just finished hitting up playland. We had some time to kill, so we came here for a bite and do waste some time. Big mistake: Was a very busy night for them seeing as how EVERYONE seemed to have the same idea as well (what do they say? Great mind think alike?).
Anyways, not enough servers for sure. They should have had at least a few more in to help handle the rush and a hostess to help with the people waiting in line just to find out how long the wait is.
Food was meh. I've had better to be honest. And I seem to remember feeling sick afterwords. Service was also meh. The server clearly just didn't seem to care a lot. I tipped her anyways cause thats how I do.
I would not come back here. I know of people who have gotten quite sick from their food. Also, the service... I can definitely find better nearby....or even at the mcdonalds down the street. -

Worst shit ever.
Beer came 2/3 full. Hollendaise was horrific. Salty as fuck! Not edible.
Steak on sale was really depressing. Service was horrid.
I'd never go here again. E ver. -

It's good for what you pay for. It's also got that classic diner feel from 80's music videos. The rib dinner was filling and at $12.95 was a good value with a generous rack of ribs, mash potatoes and broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. I would go back.

I have lived around this area for a long time, and one of the places that is known for the area is Tom & Jerry's. Even though this business has probably changed hands many times, it has kept the name, and the style of food the same. It is not the greatest place to eat, but if your looking for just a regular average meal, by all means, come here, as it won't break the bank on your wallet/purse!
I noticed that the place has gone 24 hrs again! So if your really in need of food, at around 3 AM, well, come on in. They also just changed their menu, and I did not see anything over the price of $10. The place probably needs a facelift too, but you still have the old booths, and the old thick tv's hanging from the ceilings. -

I live right around the corner from Tom & Jerry's for years and I have been in once and never been back since. Wouldn't eat here even if it was free - and I mean it because I have refused.
Came here with some coworkers a couple years back as the first stop in our 'Tour de Burger' and we all ordered the 'Dare To Finish' burger - 4 beef patties, finish it and the next meal is free. We were expecting to be in some grease-induced pain, but most of the patties were *burnt*. The burgers weren't even cooked properly! This made a hard job even worse. Even though we knew what we were getting into, everyone agreed that this was probably the greasiest thing they have ever eaten. It was borderline edible food.
I managed to power through the burger - while the waitress was trying to shoo us out the restaurant. I got my 'next burger is free!' ticket and promptly threw it in the trash.Listed in: East Van Eateries, Shots Fired

Wow - the only restaurant that has ever charged me 30 cents more because I had sourdough toast.
Never again! -

At the tail end of an eclectic strip mall on East Hastings lies this clean, working class diner. The name is a reference to the famous homicidal cat and mouse duo, and there used to be a large painting of them on the wall before copyright infringement caught up with the management.
While the food costs a couple of dollars more than elsewhere, the value is apparent in the quality of the food, which is both delicious and filling. Gone is the diner's curse of needing to read for half an hour on the toilet after getting home, or taking mandatory naps in the middle of the afternoon.
They have children's and senior's discounts, and sell a hamburger so large and greasy that if you finish it the next one is free. I recommend the perogies, served with generous portions of bacon, green onion and sour cream, and showered in extra cheddar cheese. -

Ended up here for a breakfast meeting just because it was convenient and no-one was overly familiar with the area. Service good and swift. Place was clean.
Food - edible, but not memorable. Seemed quite expensive for what it was. Don't recommend breakfast sausages - they were the unidentified meat source type .
That's it really. -

I have never had a bad meal. It is a corny place, waaayyyy over priced, but if you want comfort food this is all they serve.
