After eating a pastrami sub here, I felt as if I just been in a chain restaurant.  As a self-described sandwich affcianado, I believe I know when I've eaten a macro-wich.  And I believe that time happened last Monday.

It was a warm afternoon, and my partner and I happened upon what we thought was a little independent sub shack, when I began to realize that there may be more than one Togo's.  I was distracted at first because I was expecting to see people wearing Greek-themed attire which I expected would bring back fond memories of my time in a fraternity (ah, college).  To my chagrin, I realized that I had mispelled the name of this joint on a cocktail napkin.    I then asked for my meal to-go.

When I got home, the pastrami had gone cold, and the bread was a bit soggy.  I was still able to enjoy my little wich, but the realization that this was not an independwich likely took the zing out of the mustard.

Next, I'm going to try this little underground sandwich shop in the subway.

The sandwiches here are always fresh and tasty. This Togo's is usually busy around lunch time. The highlight of my visit was the service from Kimber who was very cheerful and had great guest service skills.

The shop has many magazines to look through while eating and a big flat screen TV to enjoy. While eating here it's not uncommon to see a star come in for a quick bite. Parking is tuff around rush hour. Overall this Togo's in Burbank is a great place to enjoy a sandwich.

    I love the shitty economy!!!

I totally score everytime I turn around.  Of course, with my 1.99 sandwich comes the crazy schitzo sitting next to me telling me that someone threw a rock at his car and he thought it was a drive-by shooting so he ducked and that I sure don't want to know what happened after that.

But hey, free wi-fi.  I'll put up with crazy McCrazerson for a few more minutes.

Togos is a very underrated eatery.  They use very fresh produce, fresh baked bread, they prep the avo themselves (starting with a giant tub of avocados at 8am), use Boar's Head Meat and, in general, hire some good all around people to work for 'em.  On top of that, they offer free WiFi AND a free bowl of soup on days it rains....oh yeah, and now they have daily specials - $3.99 for a sandwich or $5 for a a sandwich, bag o chips and soda.

And their sandwiches can hold their own against any deli around, with far more consistency and far less cost than your average fruity-gourmet sandwich joint.

But this location in particular should win a "Togos Eatery of the Year" award (if there is such a thing).  Having worked at Togos in High School, I know how things are supposed to be done and honestly, these guys in Burbank never let me down.  The staff is super friendly, build perfect sandwiches and even though I always show up in spanex and drenched in sweat, they've never looked at me cross.

First of all, big up's to the guy who mentioned Texadelphia and Jason's Deli (obviously another Texan). Glad to see someone else in-the-know about really good (albeit very unhealthy) sandwiches.

Nevertheless, Togo's food is less likely to give you a coronary, so I'd put them up against Subway, which gets demolished by the quality and variety of Togo's menu. This Burbank store in particular seals the deal with super fast, well trained and cheerful employees. It's stark contrast to the Togo's/Baskin Robbins combo store on Sunset in Hollywood (hint: avoid it).

In a rush for lunch during your workday? Salads, wraps and sandwiches are all good here - go on in and experience it for yourself. Free wi-fi is cool too, so add one more to the short list of places to eat on the west side of Burbank.

Best deal ever $6.99 half sandwich and half salad lunch combo. I love that they have finely shredded lettuce too.

The sandwiches kind of lack a little flavor if you compare them to quizo's or a local deli, but great lunch deal.

The salads are pretty good too.

Way better then subway FOR SURE.

I really like Togo's sandwiches, and I have never had a bad experience at this location. The only difficult part here is parking nearby in the parking lot, but in many instances you will find space on the street.

Sandwiches here have always been great and service has always been fine. Give it a try!

It's really closer to 4 stars, but for a chain fast food sandwich shop, it's pretty top notch.  Describing it to people, I use SoCal fast food joints as a comparison.  Think of it this way: Togos is Fatburger to Subway's Jack in the Box.

Rather than review this place, I'll instead list all of the places that I wish Togo's was that I can't find in LA:

    Jimmy John's
    Schlotzsky's Deli
    Jason's Deli
    Texadelphia
    Jersey Mike's

I don't think people from California enjoy eating.  Maybe they do it just to live?

I've been going to this particular Togo's intermittently since 1992 when I worked at Warner Brothers Ranch. Now, I go about once a month to enjoy my favorite - the Taco Salad! It's delicious. I don't know about the caloric or cholesterol content, and I don't care. I'm not reviewing a heart-healthy menu but rather the wonderful quality and flavor of their food. I also enjoy the Pastrami Reuben sandwich. You could go in there every day and try something different for a month, easily, and I firmly believe that you'd be satisfied most of the time. The Meatball sandwich is also excellent.

The manager has always been polite with me, and the customer service is always pleasant. On a more personal note, and this is entirely subjective, the young fellas who work there are rather nice looking 'dishes' themselves. But that's beside the point.  They're not on the menu.

I do wish a Togo's was close to my place of employment. It beats fast food and junk food any day.

SO much better than Subway! I hadn't been to Togo's until a few weeks ago when a friend and I decided to try it out for lunch.  My turkey sandwich was yummy, filling, and everything is fresh there.  They also have a sign that says they have free wi-fi and they even have a bunch of cool magazines to pick up and read to pass the time.  Prices aren't too bad, you can get a regular 6" for under $5, they also have a soup and sandwich or soup and salad deal for $5.99.  My friend loved the taco salad she got too, it was more like nachos she said!

I've been working at Warner Bros. recently, and part of the fun of working at a new client's is getting to know the eateries in the area. Today, I went looking for Subway (I heard a BMT calling my name...), but the one nearby has terrible parking and I couldn't find one in my meanderings. But I found the competition.

I confess, I have a bad association with Togos. Perhaps it's because the company I worked for that used to order Togos in for us (in lue of getting a real lunch) really SUCKED (an agency called 330 btw). And that somehow colored the attitude we had towards the food. Which really wasn't all that good anyway.

But hey, I was really hungry, and that was years ago... and there was Togos!

Well, I was very pleasantly surprised. It's apparent to me that Togos is trying to be a bit upscale over Subway (at least at this one). As far as vibe goes, it's more like a homey restaurant than a quick-n-dirty sandwich shop. Don't get me wrong, I like Subway, but the feeling there is definitely blue collar. Togos is taking it up a notch.

So anyway, I wasn't there for the decor. When I walked in I could smell soup cooking, which got the ol' saliva glands goin' good. The crew greeted me when I came in, and it actually seemed sincere, instead of the obligatory and half-hearted hello you often get at Subway (not that I'm blaming Subway or even it's employees... I've dealt with the public in crap jobs before, and it's rarely fun, so I can relate).

I don't know that they have quite as many different "signature" sandwiches as Subway, but what is there looks tasty. My eye fell on the Cobb Salad sandwich, which is their Wednesday special. Hey, I LOVE a good Cobb Salad, so the salad-in-a-roll seemed like a natural. As it turns out, it was a good decision.

Everything was very fresh, the bread was quite good, the meats were of good quality (the sandwich has turkey, sliced ham and bacon) and size just right. Their big sandwich is about 3/4 the size of Subway, which for most applications is just fine given that I think the full Subway creation is often too damn much. One touch I really liked was the quality potato chips they put on your plate for you. Wow, you don't have to buy a lil baggie to get chips? I mean, I like Doritos as much as the next guy, but giving me some really good chips is much better than some old bag that's been sitting in a box in a warehouse for weeks. Not that these chips weren't. I don't know.

Anyway, in summation, the sandwich was really good, the place was nice, I could read my newspaper in peace (which is not often the case at your usual cramped Subway), and I'll go back.

Of course, this place is better than Quiznos and far better than Subway.  I go here once in a while because it's closer to my work. But this is my favorite Togo's loation. My fave is their toasted philly cheese & steak sub....yummy! And their soup is not too shabby either. It gets busy from time to time specially when they're having a promo.

Is it just me or is the Togo's green salad amazing? It's so simple, which is why I can't figure out why it's so addicting. Maybe its the heroin dressing they use? That might explain my sudden, drastic weight loss and insatiable need to hang out at Union Station at 4 in the morning. Or maybe it's just the fresh vegetables? Great bread, too.

Looking thru yelp and menupix to figure what i was gna eat later, so i come up on togos here on yelp.  I saw all the good reviews and decided to check it out since it was also across the st of my place.

I dont know how this place get 4-5 stars!  Everyone says fresh, but what exactly are they talking about? I ordered 2 pastrami sandwiches.  The guy that was serving me was ok, only thing was he never changed his nasty sweaty gloves... so did the entire crew back there. (I've managed a small hospital and infection control was always a top priority.) Any way I stood around for about 20 mins just watching the crew work wearing the same gloves the whole time. Yeah.. it's quite gross.

This place gave me diarrhea..  i know because I haven't eaten anything the whole day.  That is why im writing this right now... and if you guys don't wna believe me, then next time you go there don't sit down and wait.. watch attentively how your food is made.

Another issue i have is if this place is for health conscious ppl, then why don't they have a toaster?  I asked the guy and he said that they microwave everything. Nice... so i guess soggy/soft and microwaved pastrami (in a plastic bin) means fresh and healthy...  Wooow!  Id rather go to the super unhealthy subway a block away, at least they dont try to save money on gloves and a toaster.

I'm never coming back here again.

I used to like this Togo's until today. The sandwich made me sick after 30 minutes of eating it.  It was a #24. (turkey/avocado). The lettuce was little brown. I guess there was no high turnover of customers on the weekend. I wont go back there again.

The lines can get long here, but they do seem to move it along. I love sandwiches and I feel this is the best value around for convenience, freshness, quality, and speed. Can you get a better sandwich? Sure, but not at this price. Avocado is always surprisingly edible! This latest crew plays better music in the store than the old crew. I wish they had Coke instead of Pepsi, though. I always have to buy my drink at the store.
