Big winery with a great view.  Also has a restaurant but it is closed in the winter.  The wines were good but this was one of the last stops for the day so I can't be a good judge.  Bought a couple bottles so I will know later...

What a sweet location, on top of the hill over looking the valley of vineyards and lake. We sat outside on the covered patio in the middle of summer heat as the winds picked up everything started flying even the food. Sort of fun actually as the server sails by as if its normal and as it it turns out it is. The lunch menu was sort of sandwich and salad style with a twist and of course a great wine selection.... Service was a bit slow in the beginning but came to life once we got settled..

Really looking forward to seeing the new restaurant!!  Good wines in general, with a great view off the deck to sit and enjoy a glass from.  We have never went to an event there, but have heard good things about it.

Tasting room and grounds are some of the better in the area, and the staff is great, though sometimes lacking in knowledge.  Price points are OK.

Another to make sure you stop at while in the "golden mile" of canada.

Update:  While we quite enjoyed the new restaurant and view, we can't say the wines showed as well.  The nose was nice, but it lacked any depth and was overly acidic in general.  We're finding a trend in the West valley wineries for much higher acidity than the more sundrenched east side.

Another stop on our oliver wine tour.  Tin Horn was definitely one of the highlights.  The staff was friendly and eager to provide free tastings and the ambience here was very relaxing.

The view is beautiful and downstairs there is a garden with chairs where you can hang out, enjoy a bottle of wine and eat some cheese, crackers and such.

That evening there was a concert at the outdoor amphitheater which looked like an excellent venue for a small concert (wish we could've stayed to see it!).

As it was part of a number of stops on our wine tour we didn't have much time to spend but I would definitely like to return here to enjoy a bottle of wine in the garden and watch a good concert.

Favourite wines at Tin Horn were the Cab Franc and the "Old Fields" Merlot.

Beautiful restaurant with great views, not-so-good service. Our group was seated in the dining room, our server came to our table and basically gave off the impression that he'd rather be doing anything else in the world than serving tables. No smile, no nothing. He took forever to take our order and rolled his eyes when we asked if they could make an Americano. When he delivered the Americano is was actually a Latte. We ordered a Meatball Sandwich as one of our entrees, when if finally arrived after 20 minutes, it came with a long black hair in it, I realize these things happen but there was barely an apology for it and we were still charged full price for it, not to mention he put it on the wrong bill. I would give this place another chance as I think with a different Server it would have been a much nicer experience. This guy seemed to think he was too good for us and for his job.

Tinhorn Creek is an attraction. It has an amazing view, you can do a self-guided tour, and it has a large tasting room. If you are (or are hosting people who are) more tourists than serious wine snobs, this is a great choice. There is a lot going on here besides just tasting and buying wine.

A feature vineyard with well-labeled examples of many different grape vines is located just outside the tasting room. Outside they have also gone to the trouble of placing informative plaques around with all sorts of interesting information about the area's nature.

The wine here is produced at a higher volume than many of its smaller neighbours. It is kept at an accessible price point (most whites and reds under $20). If you can get your hands on their fairly-priced Kerner Ice Wine ($25), consider yourself lucky! It is some of the most affordable dessert wine on the market.

Tinhorn Creek Estate winery has been a fixture on the western side of the Okanagan Valley since its opening in 1995 (to this date, I can remember vividly the salmon-stuffed grape leaves served at the opening reception). The winery building is stately, with a well-lit exterior, so it is visible from a distance both night and day. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the fine view of the Okanagan Valley from the winery balcony or hike the Golden Mile trails that meander through the grassy Okanagan hills. The winery also provides a self-guided tour of the barrel and fermentation rooms, as well as a vineyard exploration tour.

Visitors can also purchase meats and cheeses at the Tinhorn Creek deli and enjoy their food on an outdoor deck patio overlooking the vineyard and valley beyond.

A unique feature of this winery is its outdoor amphitheatre, which plays host to a summer concert series. Here audiences can enjoy a variety of musical performers against a backdrop of mountains and valley floor.

    Wines

Tinhorn produces popular varieties of white and red wines sourced from its vineyards at the winery and its Diamondback vineyard on the Black Sage. Winemaker Sandra Oldfield was trained at the University of California, Davis and her American style is reflected in the character of some of Tinhorn's wines (American oak is used over French, for instance).

    Notes on Tastings

The tasting room at Tinhorn Creek is bright, spacious and is staffed by a knowledgeable team- we found them very accommodating.

    Last word

Tinhorn Creek offers a great winery experience.

Beautiful view and nice wines, the Merlot is very nice and the Ice Wine outstandin.  However the Miradoro Restaurant was just OK there are better options in the area. They are just getting started so may improve. Had lunch there with four people. Service was marginal and food was mixed. Our Pizza was delicious but the Charcutere Platter was very marginal some salami, a pate and a little air dried beef. The Caprese salad was OK but the goat cheese without flavor and the meatball sandwich lacking some punch however the accompanying garbanzo bean salad absolutely delicious. Hoping this place improves with age.
