Tim's Dessert House is located on the top floor of this HK style mall in Richmond, BC.  Their specialty is the buttered egg roll cookies (the ones you get in a tin in Chinatown, not the egg roll from the dim sum stores).  I first became acquainted with Tim's when a co-worker brought back a box for me as a souvenir.

So when I was up North, DH & I decided to trek up to Tim's to get our own supply.  Looking for this place was like searching for the holy grail.  Before I went to Canada, I did a search for the store and then we drove around the city to find the mall (not really easy to find at the time because the mall had opened up months before).  We actually got there 15 minutes before the mall closed.  We ran up about six escalators to get to Tim's (the last time I ran that hard and fast was in hs gym.  I was actually panting by the time we reached the counter).

So were the egg rolls worth it?  You bet it is.  They taste way better than the tin can ones you get from grandma!  Tim's cookies are buttery, crunchy and fresh.  They come in a nice cardboard box too.

If you're in the neighborhood, definitely get a box for yourself!

This place had awesome Phoenix rolls, but now they're CLOSED. On the bright side, the new place (Wo Fung Dessert) serves excellent fried chicken wings!

Hong Kong style bubble waffles and phoenix rolls.  Located in the food court, they prepare the bubble waffles fresh when you order them so they are very hot delicious quick snack!

These are a much better option than the other featured dessert in the food court (Beard Papa's), and doesn't have a line you can see (unlike Beard Papa's).  But it is tricky.  When you order you get given a casino chip with a number and told to come back later for your order.  They only have a few waffle irons and there is normally a long list of customers ahead of you!  So order early, go eat, and then come back for your dessert!

My whole family is obsessed with Tim's Dessert House! THE EGG BALLS! I haven't had them since I've been in Hong Kong. And they are so good here! Fluffy and hot off the pan! I love watching them make it too!

good stuff. i never went to vancouver before, but i've received some of the phoenix rolls (i assume). It was a gift given to me by my neighbor as appreciation/thank you for some stuff we helped them out with.

at first when i saw the box, i didn't think it was going to be very good or tasty. i decided to open the packaging and try some at late night. it was about 1olock in the morning and i was dead hungry. I opened the packaging and started to eat this. One by one, and without noticing, i think i ate half the package.

definitely good and worth trying. but i assume this place is nothing special for the locals in vancouver.

This place is egg ball heaven!  They are $3 dollars each and the little ping pong ball sweet waffles will have you craving for more.  I so wish we had one of these places in Seattle, if there was I'd be there everyday like a crack addict.  Since we don't have these in Seattle, I'm forced to buy two each time I'm in VBC.  One to eat while I'm walking through Aberdeen and another to eat on the way home.
