Review from Vivek S.
As I scribe these words, gentle reader, I am sitting at the Timothy's across from St. Clair subway station. The staff have carefully tied helium balloons to every chair in anticipation of the owner's wife who turns 50 today.
She just walked in the door and everyone inside, customers and staff alike, started singing happy birthday. She was surprised and only mildly annoyed that a store full of strangers knows how old she is. What a fun morning.
Obligatory Title Pun: TIM-berrrrrrrrr! (Look, this is hard.)
Menu Readability: Typical of coffee shops.
Need to mention: It's actually a great location. Tall ceilings and big windows to match.
What this place teaches me about myself: I really want to steal one of these helium balloons. -

The americano was fine and the chai tea soy latte was below par. The problem was that we ordered and tried to pay with a Timothy's gift card. It didn't work and the girl said that they usually don't work. It seems to me that if the cards don't usually work, you could try putting up a sign at the till that says, I don't know, something like "Not accepting gift cards" or something similar. We only went in there to use up the gift card as we'd had it for a while. We paid with debit (that worked fine in the same machine) and now we still have the darn gift card. Looks like we'll have to try to use it up at another location.

I visit this Timothy's every morning on my way to work. I get the dark coffee and I like it. They have soy milk and cinnamon available which is key as both are a must for me. But really it's the location that I like best as it is on the way to work and it isn't Starbucks. Since I have been going there daily for about 3 weeks now (just started a new job) I am getting to know the friendly staff and enjoy seeing locals sitting and chatting at the tables or on the small patio. I know it is a chain coffee place but it seems more like a family run business and I am going to continue to go.
